"Don't look at me I'm naked!"
-Character Sheet

NAME:
Samuel 'Electro' Dyer
FACTION: Republic/Border Alliance
RANK: Luieot- Leuitant- Gah. Loo-Tent-Ant.
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 19
GENDER: Male

APPEARANCE:
Samuel stands at 6'2" on a good day and weighs in at 170 pounds soaking wet. There's not a scrap of fat on him and the only place you could really say he has muscle would be his legs. He has a baby face when he's clean shaven, his dark blue eyes and curly brown hair only seem to make him younger. He will grow out a beard on occasion, more due to laziness than anything. He is fairly active outdoors and has gained a dark tan as a result. Other than his distinctive jacket, which he always wears, he has a scar on his left arm from a broken bone in his youth and another scar on his right shoulder from his first battle.

ATTRIBUTES:

Strengths:
Technical abilities
Runner
Book Smart

Weaknesses:
Weak willed
Lacks courage
Unwise in actions

Samuel is a tall and fairly thin young man. He enjoys running and as such has quite a bit of stamina to offset his physical weakness. Samuel is book smart. If he's read it, chances are he'll remember it. Unfortunately he is incredibly weak willed. Others have, on many occasions, taken advantage of him. He is also fairly cowardly and will run from a fight if given the opportunity. While smart, Samuel is quite unwise and falls into others traps quite often.

PERSONALITY:
While certainly not a know it all, Samuel is very knowledgeable about a great many things. He usually stay quiet however and keeps his opinions to himself. The only time he takes action is to help save those around him. In his profession as an electrician, many times he's had to speak up and inform others that "they're doing it wrong" and "it's going to catch fire like that." These situations make Samuel very uncomfortable. He usually lets others dictate what he does. A bosses nexus needs walked? Sure. Wash his air speeder? I guess. Hand me the controller that's two inches from my hand? Why not?

This has led to serious trouble. "Go turn on that service." "But there are still workers down there." "It's fine just do it." The headline the next day was Three dead in Speeder manufacturing plant.
After that the head honcho "suggested" he find work off planet. So he did. The pirate transporting him "suggested" he go to a border alliance world. "Isn't it dangerous?" "Nah, and it'll only cost a little more."
He is generally kind and easy going. Even when he knows people are taking advantage of him he tries to see the best in their intentions. He's not one to crack jokes but he enjoys a good laugh with the crew.

BIOGRAPHY:

Samuel had a pretty normal and monotonous life until he started working. He'd had private schooling and became quite learned in various subjects. Against his family's better wishes however he decided to pursue a more hands on career. He tried his hand as a droid mechanic for a few months but it became clear quickly that this was not his true calling. Next he decided to try being an electrician. He found the work enjoyable and stimulating. The troubleshooting alone created enough of a mental challenge to keep him interested and the work left him feeling fullfilled.

As mentioned earlier, he was helping his direct superior at a speeder manufacturing plant when an accident caused the deaths of three people. Samuel had mentioned that it would be an unwise decision to power the station while there were still people on the floor. He'd been shouted at, and as a result three people died. The owner of the Electrical company offered Samuel a large sum of money to move off world and find employment elsewhere. Samuel agreed and planned to simply travel to the next system over. Upon relating his story to the pirate transporting him, the pirate extorted him out of all the money he'd won in the settlement. It was a good deal though because the alternative would've been a missing arm, and prosthetics are so expensive these days, and terribly out of style.

That's how he found himself on Botajef. It really was a nasty planet. But he found enough work to keep himself above water. His first real break since landing on Botajef, was the worst day of his life. While working on a three story factory shots began ringing about all around him. Not only was the factory coming under fire it seemed that there were people within the factory shooting back. Samuel was along a cat walk that bordered the outer edge of the building. A man carrying a large machine gun came sprinting down the cat walk. As he passed a window a stray bolt caught him in the chest. The gun clattered down the cat walk and landed at Samuel's feet. The man screamed for Samuel to take the gun. He screamed again, commanding Samuel to shoot out the window at anything that moved. There was a large pool of blood spreading down the cat walk. Samuel stuck the muzzle of the gun through the window and pulled the trigger. The chatter of the gun was deafening, the weapon was uncontrollable. Even if Samuel had kept his eyes open it would've been impossible for him to aim a weapon he'd never even seen before.

Minutes must have passed before the weapon's chatter stopped. The floor was littered with metal casings. When the commander in charge of defending the factory found him, Samuel was still holding the trigger, with his eyes clamped shut. When he was finally coaxed into opening them, he saw the courtyard below him littered with bodies. The commander informed the troops that they had lost a soldier and that a 'civilian' had taken up his charge. The men were impressed with the 'civilian's' ability and asked Samuel to join them. The commander kept quiet while Samuel slowly nodded. They were large men with large guns; it doesn't matter what they ask, you always say yes.

Samuel spent the next several months in training. While training with the recruits it was hard to feign knowledge of war when he had none. Yet they had all heard stories about 'Electro' and the massacre of Bejton Square, so he did his best to at least look like he knew what he was doing. The commander from the factory was gracious to say the least; he kept his mouth shut the entire time and simply observed his progress with a knowing glint in his eye. Samuel sympathized with the Border Alliance's mission and was eager to help in any way he could. He learned to enjoy the training and the work that was set before him. The chatter of the large weaponry soon became music to his ears. There was one thing that loomed over him. One day he would have to kill. One day he would have to keep his eyes open when firing his weapon. He wasn't sure what would happen on that day.
