INTENT
The Sith Meditation Sphere is an interesting idea in Legends that gets a shamefully minimal amount of attention. I'd like to use this as a personal ship; I would consider writing a generic Sith Meditation Sphere page in general, but everyone's meditation sphere is different (it'd reflect the user). Plus, that's kind of a misleading title and could be misconstrued as faction tech, regardless of the fact that the current Sith did not make this ship. Not really planning on using this for battle meditation, but I could do some sick illusions with it (sans the 'illusions that do damage' that Naga Sadow did in Legends.)DESCRIPTION
The Ancient Sith once used meditation spheres for both warfare and transportation. A Sith engaging in battle meditation while using a meditation sphere could wreak havoc. However, the meditation sphere has fallen out of use in favor of non-mobile meditation chambers, where dark lords can practice battle meditation in the relative safety of a larger ship. This particular meditation sphere was constructed centuries ago by an unknown Sith. It was used for some time until the meditation sphere was abandoned on Ronika in the Empress Teta system. The red sands of the prison world buried the meditation sphere for centuries. It was rediscovered by an Imperial surveyor company searching for land for a new prison. The discovery of an intact meditation sphere piqued the interest of Darth Trepidus, who quickly acquired the ship.As with all meditation spheres, this small ship maneuvers using solar sails and Force transmitters. The bat-wing-like projections on either side have been upgraded with the latest technology in sail design. They are designed to be easily replaceable and are made with very simple parts. Replacements are non-expensive and do not take up much compartment space at all. The Force transmitters allow the ship to move faster, and in whatever direction the user chooses. They appear as crystalline projections on the top, bottom, and sides of the ship. There is no steering or navigation mechanism; only Force-users can pilot a meditation sphere.
The chassis itself is a double-layered titanium hull; as with most fighters, the trick is to not get hit. It possesses no shields of any kind and has a magnetic accelerator located at the bottom of the ship. This magnetic accelerator is capable of attracting ferromagnetic objects and turning them into projectiles. In addition, it can use the Force transmitters to emit Force powers. It amplifies and transmits passive powers, such as allowing battle meditation to have a wider effect or creating and maintaining illusions. It transmits (but does not amplify) active powers such as Force lightning or tutaminis.
Inside, Darth Trepidus' meditation sphere has a wrap-around holoprojector. It can display a live feed of a battle, allowing for more effective battle meditation. The holoprojector also doubles as a sun-lamp, which Darth Trepidus uses for photosynthesis. There are three chairs in the ship, though the passenger chairs are occupied by boxes and other objects. There is no greater fool in the galaxy than one who asks a Sith Lord to move her things, so the chances of her clearing those seats outside of battle are slim. The back half of the ship contains a wrap-around, flat work area (a desk, if you will). There are also cabinets and other mounted objects lining the walls. On her right (while the chair is pointed to the back of the ship), the shelves contain a small specimen fridge, space for a microscope, and storage for various scientific instruments and texts. There is a terminal immediately in front of her, which contains her various publications and any documents she's working on. To her left, she has a locked cabinet of Sith artifacts. These artifacts are generally tomes or objects of cultural/historical significance.
The exterior of the ship has a bronzium coating intended merely for aesthetic purposes. It is complimented by electrum details. There are four landing struts, which wrap seamlessly around the ship's hull in flight. These struts can be used as spider-like legs, allowing the ship to walk. The transparisteel viewport can slide open, allowing the user to enter and exit the ship.
