  • Born to a minor Merchant family of the Republic of Serenno during the Hundred Year Darkness, Davik's early years were marred with tragedy. Prior to Serenno's involvement with the Jedi Civil War, the Carannia family had over many generations clawed themselves from the absolute poverty of indentured servitude to a position of respect amongst the Merchant Guilds. They acted as one of the main suppliers of naval equipment for the Serenno Fleet with many members of the extended Carannia family also serving amonst Serenno's Navy under various Great Houses.

The destruction of Serenno's fleet brought a swift end to his family's rise; the Carannia family lost most of their fortune, power and prominent members to the conflicts within D'Astan Sector and in order to survive they were forced to swear fealty to the Great House Vemec. Davik spent his youth raised on the tales of his family's glory days; in spite of their return to pesanthood and serfdom, his parents still believed that they would one day return to their former status just as their ancestors long ago had.

As the oldest son of the patriach of the Carannia family and his natural heir, his parents' hopes were pinned on him to realise this dream. Davik's childhood was not his own; instead of fun and games he spent his days studying politics, law, sciences and the like. As first Davik simply wished to do his duty, he was young and eager to earn his family's approval. As time went on and the glory days of his family grew more distant, Davik shirked against his parents' direction. While he still had a desire to honour his family's past, he wished to do so in his own way.

Fate has a funny way of twisting one's desires as Davik's force sensitivity was discovered on the eve of his 15th birthday. At any other time this would have been a boon but the recent laws and social customs surrounding Force-Sensitives turned him overnight into a pariah. While his family never explictly cast him out, it was not long before his family's attention turned to others who could potenially succeed his father.

Instead of feeling free, Davik found himself at a loss of purpose and direction as he struggled to define himself. He was restricted socially and legally; in spite of having the freedom to choose it meant little when his choices were so few. And within a society as driven by tradition as Serenno, Davik knew that the likelihood of achieving life's traditional milestones as a Force-Sensitive let alone achieveing any sort of renown. Resigned to failure and rejection, Davik was pulled into a downward spiral of decedance and hedonism across the Outer Rim. This pattern persisted for many years until finally a near-death experience forced him to reevaluate what he had let himself become.

It was at 21 years old that Davik finally returned to Serenno and soon after enlisted in the Navy under the Great House Vemec; it reminded him of the tales he was raised on and the role he was supposed to fulfill. Perhaps, Davik thought, he could honour his ancestory in his own way in spite of his legal status.

This is how Davik spent his years up to the current day. His family remained as a vassal to the Great House Vemec in spite of their ambitions; Davik maintained his distance from them and they from him. The heights of the Navy had long since passed but Davik found fulfilment amongst the stars; the millitaries of Serenno were among its more meritocratic structures where so long as you did your job you could rise.

However in his wildest fantasies, he often dreamt of the day he could do something meaningful for Serenno. So that Serenno could return to its glory days. So that his family could return to their status of old. So that he and others like him could be accepted by all as true citizens of Serenno.

    • Well-Read - Davik was made to read widely during his childhood and has retained some of this knowledge into adulthood. He has a resonable grasp (i.e. high-school level) on politics, law and the sciences.
    • Bilingual/Biliterate- Having spent many years in the Outer Rim, Davik has become both fluent and literate in Huttese.
    • Skilled Pilot and Navigator (Small and Large Spacecraft) - His time in the Great House Vemec's Navy has given him the skills to fly most spacecrafts. Davik is also capable of acting as a Navigator in larger starships.
    • Computer Adept - Davik is quite knowledgeable as to the workings of computers due to the time he spent around Navigator computers within starships; in addition he could probably slice into basic computer systems (i.e. standard personal/home computers) if required.
    • Basic First-Aid - Like most millitary cadets, Davik was given a basic first-aid course and could deal with minor combat wounds he or others may sustain.
    • Basic Engineering - Davik is capable of maintaning most devices; he is able to diagnose and repair minor damages they might sustain.
    • Basic Weapons Training - As part of his training, Davik was taught how to handle smaller weaponry. In particular melee weapons and blasters, he is unfamilar with the use of rifles.
    • SP-20 Blaster Pistol
    • Flight Suit
    • Enforcer Armour
    • Model 1-48 Stun Baton

  • At his heart, Davik is a man of sacrifice and often concerns himself with how he can serve and help those he holds dear; his abandonnment by his family left Davik with a deep seated need to be appreciated and feel included. This often comes to the detriment of his own well-being but the drive to bring glory to his name and Serenno as a whole keeps him from stopping.

He resents his legal status within the Republic of Serenno due to how others treat him, the constriants it has put on his life and what it ultimately cost him. However he largely buys the justifications given the Counts of Serenno for the laws that have restricted him. He therefore holds the Jedi Order and Exiles accountable for what he has suffered.

Davik tends to seek out those who hold similar values to himself but if he can find common ground with you will generally be friendly and engaging. In particular if Davik considers you a friend the he will by loyal and trustworthy to a fault. To those who hold significantly differing viewpoints, Davik often finds it difficult to give them the time of day even as he remains outwardly affable (he is from Serenno after all); his views are deeply held and tied quite closely to his identity. He is quite stubborn and tends to view criticism as a personal attack whether or not this is the case.

TL;DR - His Psychological Profile largely conforms to that of an ESTJ (Myers-Briggs)
