*Kal’Shabbol, said by many to be the glowing gem of the Ashlan Expanse. Josiah watched as the morning sun rose over the Ashlan Mountains, casting an early morning light on the Bendu Temple of Light. Dozens of citizens of his world flocked to the area just to feel the breeze of the Grasslands of the Ashla and catch a glimpse of the temple at dawn. Many sat and prayed while others simply admired the beauty of their surroundings.
Josiah observed all of it from the highest chamber of the temple, admiring the beauty of the surroundings. It was a sight he saw every morning, yet every time the sun rose he found something new to admire. He had woken up a few hours earlier, just as he did every morning, leaving his empty bed in his room. Even though he had almost reached the age of fifty, he had never married and had no children to carry on the Rendar line. However, the walls of the temple were filled with memories of his mother and father and his grandmother.
Things had changed greatly since Ussej had been killed. After Kalel Kitsune and Cos Jonathan Dashin had left Kal’Shabbol after returning the Sword of The Skywalker, he began spending a great deal of time alone in his chambers, writing down many more reforms for the order. However, he could not keep his mind off of something that Ussej had asked him to tell the Jedi Council: “tell the Jedi I said thank you”. Over a year later, he knew that it was time to tell the Jedi Council just that, as well as the time to offer them his assistance. It was the least that he could do, considering how much trouble the Bendu had caused the Jedi.
It would obviously be an awkward meeting between him and the Jedi Council, assuming he was even allowed to speak before them. However, if he could convince the Jedi that he had nothing but kindness and righteousness in his heart then perhaps they would both be able to work together to help the Republic rise to power once again. First, however, he would have to spend time continuing the training of his students. As he placed his robe over his shoulders and walked through the halls to exit into the Grasslands, he could not help but remind himself that it was his first and most important priority.*
