I'm going to have my character be a really new Jedi Knight, as in she pretty much just got promoted. She's almost a sort of "artsy" Jedi who really likes to be creative and do things her own way, but she's not rebellious. She believes in the Jedi Order but is a very independent thinker.

I'm thinking she could take on a Padawan, that would be an interesting challenge for her. So, if you think you might be interested in having your character be her Padawan, we should talk!

Well I have called myself a Jedi Watchman... because I plan to be a detective of sorts until the war breaks out then I will hopefully finding constant PvP threads.

Watchman was a title given to Jedi who were the heads of an enclave or outpost on a planet. That is also a non-canon title. Your title will be Jedi "Crusader" or something (with a Padawan or Knight ranking or whatever) unless the TT/FL say otherwise. Special titles are unnecessary during this era - we're all warriors, crusaders, fighters and protectors of the light. That's pretty much all that matters to almost every single one of us.

Also, the Jedi are still "at war" with the Sith in a way... not sure there should be a distinction in the Jedi activities unless, again, the FLs plan something bigger.

My character will have the temperament of a Consular, be trained as a Guardian, and basically have turned into a Setinel by the time of the start of the RP.

Given how he acts, though, I'm really just going to have him be called a Knight-errant and have done with it. He really won't fit into any of the pre-established titles.

As I was aware the return of the Sith was not totally confirmed at this stage as they are hiding away or have I totally missed something here. My understanding was that there had been sightings but not confirmed return of a structured Sith Order.

True true, but we are always on the hunt, and I would bet we know they're out there. And more details on this will come to light from the TT.

People are brainstorming at this point based on the not information we have. I don't think it's really needed to be saying what people can and can't do right now. It's just brainstorming. Likely everyone's going to have to change some ideas as things are released.

CJ, I like you. You're looking at this the right way. Marcus, there's no real reason to be telling people what can and can't be done at this point in time. If somebody wants to use an old EU title to describe their character's focus, at least for the planning stage, let them. There's no real harm in it. =P

Also, Watchmen weren't just enclave heads and system watchers. There were a good few roaming Jedi who were always on the hunt for dark side things to take care of that were called Jedi Watchmen.

CJ is making just as many claims as I am, and incorrect ones as well. I'm just trying to give information that we know and inform people that there are a lot of variables we don't know, thus getting ahead of ourselves could be troubling.

Jedi Watchman is a prestigious title in the EU and not one to be taken lightly, and I would wager not one we will use at all in this TL. It was being used improperly anyways if you ask me.

That all said, and I have stated this before. Plan and scheme all you want, but just don't be crushed when they announce more info. Just trying to keep things down to earth, and also correct false assumptions from people not reading the announcement threads.

Okay, here's my character workshop! Things are still a little rough but I'd like to get your guys' opinion. Also, if you think you have a character that might work well with mine, let me know and we can plan stuff for them to do next timeline. :)

Y'all are taking this too seriously if you ask me. Bounce your ideas around, come up with the basics for your characters and use your KotOR-based terms to describe what you're thinking of as much as you want, and be ready to change things as needed. That's all anybody is really doing, and jumping in and going "x title won't be used next timeline" and other stuff like that, and the really flat "we'll know more when the TT is finished so just cool your jets and stop getting so into your character creation" (as it comes across to me sometimes with how you say things) makes you look like almost as much of a curmudgeon as Jolee Bindo was sometimes. Just relax and let people have their fun, everybody knows they'll have to change stuff later on anyways. Some of the fun with the workshops is just to let people get their goofy ideas out of the way early and see if they can't be made to work somehow, anyways, assuming the ideas stick at all. People will come back to Earth once everything is put out later, and we can really start picking ideas apart to say they will or won't work at that point (unless an idea tossed in here is obviously OP/Mary Sue-ish/otherwise breaks the rules, of course). For now, everything is mainly being done in good fun. Might as well let the goofiness happen.

I mean if it's not going to exist in this timeline, then giving myself a meaningless title that has no bearing on my actual rank but encompasses my Jedi's goal. I think it's a fine way to describe myself as a Watchman. It's not like I'm trying to back door a more powerful character.

I'mma just say real fast that some characters in the story weren't this, but were still called Watchmen, nor did TSL explicitly imply this definition (although I will agree that it was the most common definition). Old Canon was extremely inconsistent. =P
