Even if his human side didn't want to believe it, his animal instincts took over at the point Yui turned her fury towards him. Warning bells churned inside of his head, and no sooner had the griffin done a sudden dive then the spot where it was occupying, had several silver beams lanced through the air at that point. With a spin, it was climbing through the air at incredible speeds, darting up to the level he had been at before, although at a greater distance. Andrew, in his griffin form, stared at Yui. Behind her, lightning flashed. The storm had moved in much faster then he had anticipated. Was this her doing as well? It almost seemed...unnatural. Clouds rolled in above them, and on towards the city. There was silence, before lightning flashed once more, illuminating the night. Thunder clapped, and rain began to drizzle down on the two. Another flash of lightning lightened up her face. Her cold features sent a chill through him for the first time. There was only the sound of rain, and the thunder as the world waited to see who would make the first move, but beneath the surface, another battle raged. Andrew predatory instincts urged him to go for the kill before she could cast another spell, and he had to work to keep them under control. At last he used one of the abilities given to him by the others.

"Yui. What are you doing! I don't want to harm you, what are you doing!" His voice echoed inside of her mind. He had to try to reach her, through whatever it was that was happening to the girl

The girl followed the creature's movements as it gained some distance. She clenched her fist and the ball of silver energy dissipated into nothingness. With the energy gone the girl lowered her arm, pointing directly at the winged creature. "Radiance that shoots through the heavens." Two dozen golden orbs of energy appeared in front of her as she spoke. "Sparkling across time like a crystal." Golden sigil rings formed around each of the orbs of energy, all of which were now aimed at Andrew. "Under that which binds eternal providence." The orbs took the shape of daggers. Several more sigil rings appearing one after another, forming a barrel of sorts for each of the golden daggers. "Lance forth and turn all into light." With the final verse of incantation the spell was complete, each of the daggers shooting forth like a bullet of blinding golden energy. The same spell she had threatened to use on Andrew during their first meeting. Each shot would move individually, and all of them tracked the creature's movements as it attempted to evade.

"Radiance that shoots through the heavens." Andrew had lost this round, and he knew it. The girl had shown him once before that she was nothing to be taken lightly. Each one of those daggers had the power to end his life if given the right chance. Like a bullet, he took off towards the forest. "Sparkling across time like a crystal." He was running out of time. His form changed from that of a griffen. Hooves appeared where there were talons, a long snout taking the place of the hawk, and becoming completely white, complete with wings. This form known as the Pegasus. The instincts of the prey it had were crucial if he were to survive what was to come next. "Lance forth and turn all into light" Golden daggers shot out after him as soon as he burst through the foliage of the trees. There had been many times where his senses and instincts had to be top notch, but this would be the first true test of his use of them. It didn't take long for the magical daggers to catch up to him. He needed more speed, but there were branches and obstacles all around.

The instincts of the prey kicked in, and he found himself easily weaving around the foilage, despite his size, going one way, then around another. One explosion behind him, as one struck an object, then another, and another. Each strike caused a deafening explosion of raw power, and destroyed the area it impacted. Shooting back up in to the sky, there were more explosions, and darting back down in to the foliage there were more again. Taking his speed up, he suddenly broke free from cover, and was in a wide open area. The next cover was a ways off, but there was no choice. Going as fast as possible in that form, he tried to make it. The daggers seemed to have a life of their own however, and were not only keeping up, but gaining in this open field. His life was on the line however, and put all he had in to making it. Every second brought him closer, but every second also brought them closer.

Off in the distance, several loud explosions were heard impacting somewhere, along with a ferocious roar that seemed to echo in to the night

Not about to show mercy the girl once again raised her hand towards the sky. "O' ruler of the white snow." Above the girl the rain condensed and bonded together into four cube-shaped masses before suddenly turning into solid blocks of ice. "With silver wings turn all the Earth into ice. Come forth, breath of frost." Each of the four cubes quickly turned into a roughly spear shape before shooting off at the fleeing pegasus. When they struck an object everything within a hundred meters would be flash-frozen into objects of pure ice.

Another roar sounded out, and four fireballs blazed up from the cover that he had presumably reached to intercept the spears of ice. The source of them was shrouded in smoke now, as the act had set the surrounding forest on fire. Despite the rain, it was only a little drizzle, and not nearly enough to put out the fire that had started to spread from the powerful balls of fire. From beneath the smoke cover though, the large shape of a creature lurked beneath

The four fireballs impacted the four spears of ice, causing a massive explosion of steam. However it quickly became apparent what had actually happened. Every drop of rain within a hundred square meters was turned to ice, and rather than falling to the ground they remained in mid-air. In the distance Yui held her index finger out, pointing to the shrouded creature. She made a small twirling gesture as if writing something in the air. Soon afterwards millions of drop-sized shards of ice went flying towards the creature. A rain of exceptionally durable ice came down, pelting the area around the target like little bombs. Each one freezing a few inches around the impact zone.

"Patience Hal, we'll take care of the bad guys one we find the others. Starting with Batman, he could help us find the others."

Captain Marvel looked at Hal and then looked around to see where they could find a car dealer so they could go to Gotham.

"We must hide and leave Metropolis using our secret identities. Luthor knows we're alive and he'll try to find us, he'll spread news about us and inform his men to be on guard. So from here on out you'll be Hal Batson and I'll be your son, Billy Batson."

Captain Marvel's plan could work seeing as how he is a kid. He quickly flew away from the area and into a back alley where he would transform into his normal form.

"Shazam!"

With those words lightning striked from the skies transforming him into his normal form. He sat down and waited for Hal to take off the ring.

"From here on out we're Father and Son or maybe brother and brother.. Hmm. Anyways we'll have to move quickly, the plan is simple. We'll rent a car from the nearest dealership and travel to Gotham, if Luthor informed his men then we must lay low. We do not transform until it is safe to do so."

With that said Billy quickly left the alley and walked casually to the nearest dealer which was two blocks away.

"Kranjcar..." The voice echoed through Andrew's mind so loudly that rivaled the magic explosions surrounding him. For a moment it dulled the senses, as if he had received a shock from a distance source. "You've done enough. Remember the oath: You're to protect history, not die interfering with it..."

Meanwhile, local campers, vacationers and people with personal lodges located in the area surrounding the conflict, awakening to the sound of a beast's roar and explosions, would, one by one, report the forest fire that started to get out of control.

"And this girl is the one to do it? You expect me to just let her go, and be left alone again?" He shot back at what had been a numbing of his brain, of what could have been a crucial moment he needed. He knew what it came from, but it was impossible for him to just let go yet, without knowing anything. A burning churned within him, and from beneath the smoke cover, a torrent of fire rose to meet the icicles which were descended down upon him. While some were impeded by the torrent of fire, more got through it and came down upon the creature. As they were about to make contact , the creature's scaled glowed gold for a moment, and the projectiles which should have struck, dissapeared out of existence. The fire however, which had intercepted the projectiles, was now ice, and fell to the ground with a titanic thud. Another roar came from within the beast, and it took off, flapping It's giant wings and ascending in to the sky at surprising speed. The dragon emerged, and let loose a torrent of fire from It's mouth against the girl

"Yui! Stop this madness! Let me in!" He once again attempted to reach out to her mind. It was the only place he truly stood any sort of chance. The only way he could effectively try to suppress her mind however, was in close proximity. That would be no easy feat.

Just as the torrent of flame was about to hit her a circular magic rune appeared, acting as a shield as it deflected the fire around her. As the fire subsided a massive triangular magic sigil appeared beneath the Dragon. From it rose dozens of blue, glowing chains. Each of which would move with incredible speed as they wrapped around the creature. It's wings, legs, neck, torso, tail, the chains wrapped around every part of it's body and were drawn taut. Should the dragon attempt to struggle, the bind would tighten further and sap it of it's strength. With the creature caught in her trap the girl began to speak quietly to herself. "I summon the light of destruction down upon my prisoners."

He let out what could be called a cry a pain as he was bound in the sky. Normally without wings to support flight, the creature would plummet to the ground, but the magical chains kept that from happening. This wasn't a fight he could win. At any rate, he didn't have the will to keep fighting her. Not without a reason at least. He felt strength leave him as he had tried to break the chains through pure strength. It only drained him more however. "I am sorry, Yui." He knew what was to come, and there would be no running here

"Stars, gather, and become the light which pierces everything." Above the girl small streaks of light condensed into a single massive orb of energy high over-head. It was far larger than the last time she had used the spell, seemingly drawing power from the stray magical energy from the fight. The orb of energy continued to grow, becoming almost blindingly bright as it did so. Around the orb formed a massive ring that slowly rotated, magic runes were inscribed all along the ring's surface. Suddenly the ring began to spin as the orb within rapidly expanded, illuminating the entire area as if it were a second sun. Finally the ring came to a halt as the orb finished growing, having collected all the energy there was. " Tear through everything in a blaze of light." Yui held her cold, almost lifeless gaze on the bound dragon as she finished the incantation. A large circular sigil appeared in front of the orb, funneling the purple-pink energy through it, condensing it into a single massive and powerful beam of energy. The beam raced through the sky towards the girl's captured target.

As the energy gathered overhead to destroy him, Andrew couldn't help, but to laugh. "I suppose It's fitting you would use that. It was what led me to you in the first place. Now you will use it to try and destroy me. Don't think I'll make it easy for you though. I said I was going to bring you to safety, and I still haven't done that yet." The creature opened It's mouth, and energy seemed to form within it, collecting there in the form of a white light. He let loose the beam of energy as she unleashed her own magical powers. Meeting in the middle, there was a brief clash, before the girl's energy beam overpowered his own. Racing towards him, the entire world seemed to glow. As the light around the dragon got brighter, and brighter, It's own form seemed to fade, and he left one more phrase with the girl. "It's not goodbye, Yui. It's see you later." As the beam reached the dragon, nothing could be seen of him as it covered the area, and impacted the ground as well, destroying everything in sight

The beam of light engulfed everything as it raced towards the ground. On impact it created a massive explosion, purple-pink energy flowing in all directions, destroying everything it's path. The once dark skies, covered by a layer of thunderclouds, were wiped clean by the magic's power. When the light dissipated and the smoke settled the scene became clear, everything within several miles was utterly annihilated. Not so much as a blade of grass still stood and as expected, the dragon was nowhere to be scene. "Target eliminated. Prioritizing new target." Confirming that her opponent was nowhere to be seen the girl turned and flew towards the city of Metropolis that loomed on the horizon.

"Batson? Really" Hal shrugged it off and found the dealer. He paid and got the car. As he made his way to the vehicle, he called for his friend. "Lets go Capt..." People started to look. "Son...uhh yeah son." He got in the car and waited. Where to when we hit gotham?" Suddenly, a news report came on. "Thats right, Jane. The hostage situation in Bludhaven has been going on since 4:00 this afternoon with nothing stopping it from going all night." Hal turned down the radio and spoke to his friend. "Looks like we're making a stop in Bludhaven.

Billy walked with Hal to the dealer and got in the car just as soon as he bought it and was ready to go to Gotham to find Batman and Nightwing. Billy put his seatbelt on and looked out his window to see the Lexcorp sign a few blocks away, which kept reminding him of the Battle of Metropolis and the death of Superman.

~Sighs~

As they were ready to go a news report came on which announced a hostage situation on Bludhaven. Which was followed by Hal informing Billy that they where to go to Bludhaven.

"Couldn't agree more."

The evening had been a slow one for Axel, who in a bid to make a name for himself, lurked the fringe of Metropolis, where the poor and unfortunate inhabited, in search of enemies to fight. Unfortunately, all strong individuals had seemingly skipped town at that same day, for in the city which was once site to battles of biblical scales, between men and women of awesome power, was now only populated by the common thug and police officer. Nothing really drew his interest, even the third attempt at mugging him just went by him as if it didn't happen. At least until he spotted a bright light on the horizon, which then exploded with the force and brilliancy of a nuclear bomb. Like in any other situation, he filtered out just enough of the light to avoid being blinded, which left him free to wonder what it was that just happened. There was no way that what he saw was simply a nuclear test; This was a populated area, not the middle of the Nevada desert. Whatever it was, it was big, and it drew his attention.

When the energy subsided, Axel departed. With a push off the ground, he hurled himself through the air as if he had been gifted with the ability of flight. Faster than a speeding bullet, he made for ground zero.

Axel knew there was a forest in this area, and he'd passed through many a trees along this way. But it took him a few seconds to realize exactly what the wasteland that he stretched before his eyes had been. Where once was a thick forest which provided locals with a healthy dose of nature on the weekend trips, had been replaced by a dead, flat land, several miles long. He stood within the area where that huge energy blast had impacted, laying waste to all the trees and all the rocks and he local inhabitants, sentient or not. He looked down, the solid rock bore a distinct pattern of lines that traveled forward, in one direction. This way to ground zero? He wondered. The energy blast, if evenly spread, could have easily made these carvings. But the rock was solid, not molten hot. This was clearly not a nuke. There was also an absence of radiation in the air, something he would feel as it would be repelled by his defenses. A new weapon maybe? The questions filled his mind, exciting him to a point, as much as he would rather not admit. It was enough to provoke a smile from him. Whatever caused this was strong, very strong. Strong enough for him, however? He had to find out.

And so he continued onward, following the patterns towards the center of the explosion, where all the lines would lead him to.
