Dead Threads?

What should I do about dead threads? I know that for one the person in charge left on vacation, so I am waiting patiently, but for the other its been almost a week with no post from either of the other players. I was just wondering how this will affect Gama's progression. Does it have to be completed threads or just the 50 or so posts from that character and a completed mission to level above acolyte (forget the name)
