Zak stared in utter disbelief at the imperial tabloid. Fynn was gone. While the two hadn’t interacted as much as he’d have liked and they certainly didn’t see eye to eye on many issues, he was a Jedi. Zak felt a rush of emotions in that moment, a wound that he wasn’t expecting was formed in that very instant, the Order had lost several members, and in a way, Zak had lost members of his own family. What had caused Fynn to lead such in ill-fated strike? Why had he led an assault that further violated the ceasefire?

Despite all the questions dancing through his mind and the suffering that left a dark blot in his presence, Zak knew one thing, the ceasefire would be truly over. Fynn’s actions had nearly guaranteed this. The council would need to convene once more to discuss how they should move forward and how they should address this to the galaxy at large. This brief time of peace was at an end, war would be coming to the Jedi and the galaxy once again.

LUCI!” He called out, his voice filled with urgency as he hunted for his errant Padawan. “Reach out to Senator Aezzairrfhowrrhurdrrl, set an appointment for us to speak if you would.” He continued. “You will be coming with me to this meeting.” He explained to her. “I must reach out to the rest of the Council; we must discuss what happens next.” He concluded as he shut the door to his quarters on their ship and activated his holo-com and called Alexandria.

Alex, have you heard the news?” He would immediately ask. “I am having Luci set an appointment to speak with Senator Aezzairrfhowrrhurdrrl.” He reported. “But I think we need to reconvene on Yavin, we need to have a plan going forward.” There would be a short pause before he spoke again. "Because this will mean war."

Luci was hard at work in her quarters aboard her and Zak's ship, making new plans to design a prototype AI for splicing HoloNet news feeds and faking Switter account posts when she saw the broadcast about Mustafar. As if Dantooine hadn't been bad enough for the Jedi and Resistance, now this?

The half-Annfyn's heart sank. On top of that, Master Fynn was involved, and now he was dead, mercilessly murdered by some Sith who was honored for slaughtering a Jedi. He looked like he could've been a Tiefling, labeled a demon. She remembered other kids using terms like, 'Demon Princess' to insult her in the past, simply for having horns and a tail even though she was a half-blood. To this day she still didn't take such derogatory marks well, but this Sith probably loved it, or so she assumed.

Her palms went to her face, slowly dragging up and down as she felt the stress and exhaustion of her decision to remain a Jedi wearing on her. It was difficult and draining to remain with a group of people that didn't have a shared vision, who were constantly being mocked by the galaxy and turned evermore against everyone else.

The distressed girl barely noticed her name ringing in her ears. The orders coming down from Zak to arrange a meeting with the Wookiee senator of Kashyyyk. She hesitated. Part of her didn't want to say anything. Part of her lingered on the doubts she had, threatening to turn her away from the Order. If being Independent meant being safe and away from the hate then perhaps that was where she belonged.

Luci closed her eyes, took in a deep breath, and tried to balance her fiery emotions as she sighed and brought up her smartpad dataphone. She had to stay strong. She had to push through and keep going, not just for herself and her master, but for the rest of the Jedi as well. Even if that was a struggle for her these rotations.

"Yes, Master." Luci raised her voice just enough for Zak, though there was little enthusiasm in her tone. It seemed she wouldn't even have time to mourn Councilor Tarrell's death. She tried to bury her inner conflict with the Order and Resistance, wondering instead just how many other Jedi deaths she was missing these days. Her fingers swept and tapped across the viewscreen of her device until she pulled up the contact info for one of Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl's assistants.

"Hello, this is Jedi Padawan Lucifrey Sol." Luci tried to keep herself composed while the holoprojector in her smartpad connected her with one of the senator's aids. "I'm contacting you on behalf of Jedi Councillor Zakrym La -" She paused then lowered her voice as she added, "- you can just call him Zak, it's easier to remember -" Then continued with the rest of the message at her original volume, "- and the Jedi Order to schedule a meeting with Senator Aezzuh --" Luci struggled, paused, then tried again. "...Aezzuhhh..." The stress she felt was beginning to bleed through. She should've practiced such an important individual's name for moments like these.

"I'm sorry --" Her tone changed, becoming softer and a little more personable, "-- he's got a really difficult name --" Luci paused again, clenching her teeth and making a face that practically shouted YIKES before continuing even more softly than before, like she'd just dropped and broke a priceless piece of antiquity. "-- no disrespect, please forgive me." The blue-horned girl then politely bowed her head to show she meant well. The last thing the Jedi needed now was Luci to botch setting up a simple meeting with the Wookiee whose trust they'd all just essentially betrayed.
