This was about symbols, that's what it had always come to in the end. Symbols would rise and fade as quickly as they came, some would persist and would take shape and mold into something that would shape the galaxy for years, while some would never leave. Then there were some symbols which always seemed to return, their messages and meanings called to the nostalgic past, but they lacked the understanding of the context for its original use, and willingly or unknowingly played down the failings of those ideas. The Jedi and the Sith, they were two symbols that came to mind, two symbols who seemed to always return and repeat the same course of history on an infinite looping cycle. The Mandalorians were no exception to this trapping, as their lives and society had become so intertwined with the sorcerer's of the force, that their religion and ideals had been twisted and shaken and then torn apart into a thousand tiny little pieces. It was unknown if the pieces could ever be picked up as a whole and put back together.

Perhaps the wrong message had been taken, the symbol of Death Watch and absolute power had taken rise among a people who had become disenfranchised with their plights and affairs in the galaxy. No amount of bombs could change the galaxy like hate could, and that was what that symbol represented -- a symbol of ignorant misunderstandings on strength and unity, it was a full blown fascism. It would come to no surprise to know that the Mandalorians under the Death Watch had taken up an alliance with forces whose philosophy idealized power above all else. Only time would tell if these Warriors would fall victim to the assimilation and destruction of their cultures to further a Sorcerer's agenda. But, none of this mattered at this moment, Vaselsk knew that.

The Jedi had been redirected from the city and to aide in the defense of the Jedi Temple. The Temple was an ancient symbol of civilizations and people of the past. Ancient tradition lingered within the depths, and it was something that deserved to be defended, to be preserved -- just as the Mandalorians sought to protect their rights to conquest. Vaselsk had prepared himself for defense among those who remained, the lower levels of the temple had been secured, and those who sought to fight had positioned themselves outside of the Jedi Structure, lightsabers drawn and ready. Unlike Ajan Kloss, they would not run -- they would meet this fight head on.

Once again a temple was under attack and the jedi were forced to defend it but wasn't Sith this time, their aggressor was an enemy just as old though, the Mandalorians, no one knows why they were attacking or when they unified not that matter they were here and Felix wasn't going to run, not like he did Ajan Kloss. He would fight today

Felix stood at the edge of the temple's boundary with his fellow knight, scattering of stone spires flanking them to either side with temple behind them some ways back, a layer of snow covered everything, his breath condensed against the cold air, his lightsaber in hand and ready for coming fight.

Thane had arrived to the Jedi temple with no small number of Mandalorians in conjunction. While many of the Jedi would have presumably gone to defend the city, they were still moving against the Jedi home base, and an assault like that that required bodies and skill.

Blaster shots began to fly through the air as Jedi and Mandalorians began to clash across the open fields of Lothal. In many ways it was beautiful and glorious. He was not as much a die hard death and glory Mandalorian as others, but in this case, he was eager for a fight against the Jedi. A true opponent to test himself against. He knew the stories of his ancestors who drove back Jedi and Sith alike and who raided the Jedi temple for the darksaber. He longed for even a fraction of that prestige, to once again bring honor to Clan Veren.

His equipment was geared today toward fighting Jedi as well as regular troopers. Rifle, pistol, new Sith tech and a couple powerpacks, beskad, standard kit, trio of smoke grenades, he ran through it all in his mind. Belts and bandoleers carried the various equipment and he knew where it all was without even having to look. Things were going to get ugly, and he wanted - no, needed - to be ready.

The truth was he was more nervous than he wanted to let on. He knew he was young by most people's standards, but here was his chance to prove himself.

He heard the radio flashing through his helmet as orders were doled out from the senior officers to those who were further down the totem pole.

Glorious purpose

One day Kerr Saxon was just looping through his normal routine on Mandalore, the next thing he knows he's going to be battling the Jetii. This will be Kerr's first battle, although he is thrilled to fight for Mandalore and Mand'alor, it was somewhat nerve-racking. But the closer and closer he would be in the thick of the fighting, the more and more adrenaline would take over. Kerr wasn't one-hundred percent on the new Mand'alor, but what they are doing here, they are doing for the glory of the Mandalorian people. Plus it's better than what the Mandalorians have been doing for over one-hundred years; stagnation and sloth. Two things Kad Ha'rangir hates above all.

The Manda'lor didn't go for soft targets either as the first fight for the crusade would be against the force-using Jetii, the Mandalorians would be following the footsteps of their ancestors, fighting against their ancient enemy once more

The battle for the temple is already under way. Blaster fire is already ringing out, the Jedi defenders are assembled. Kerr Saxon was at the temple grounds with the other Mandalorians including Thane, ready for battle. Ready to remind the galaxy to fear the sight of Mandalorian ships in the sky.

There was no saying on what tomorrow would bring, if that even came. Flashes of red plasma streaked across the air, as temperate hues of the Jedi Lightsabers ignited to meet their ferocity. All across them the battlefield began to fan out, Jedi and Mandalorians engaging in various forms of combats and bodies began to fall. The rivalries and ancient histories of these peoples had come to ahead today, two sides who had done little to the other -- a tragedy of unbridled desire for power.

Vaselsk dropped his brown Jedi Robe, letting it flutter off into the wind. Beneath he wore his simple pair of Jedi Wanderer Robes, his armor was a pale earthy tone that sat overtop a pair of simple white jedi clothing. His turquois blade hummed with life as he stepped forward, spotting a mandalorian who had kitted himself for war (@Phoenix ).

Who was this person beneath the helm? The Alien pushed the thought away as he positioned his blade in a defensive stance that angled in front of his body in case any blaster fire began to head his way. His white and amber eyes narrowed as he called out. "You and your people can turn back, there's always a choice." His hand gripped tightly against his blade, ready for anything. "If you don't...then accept my challenge, you and I. Beskad to Saber...like the ancestors once did."

Felix remained on the defensive, wearing his combat armour with its grey robes beneath as his orange blade deflected incoming blaster fire as he searched for a target to engage with. The ringing was coming back into his hearing as explosions were going off.

He spotted a Mandalorian of similar size and build to him(@The Good Doctor) and moved in to engage the Mando, his saber ready to deflect any incoming fire from him as he closed the distance.

If the Jedi looked into his mind, alien would find an odd thing. It wasn't the malice and hatred of a Sith or the fear of a soldier forced into combat. It wasn't even grim resignation, but a hint of excitement. A thrill and perhaps even honor to be facing a potent opponent. A decision that win or loss, this was a battle worth having. For Mandalore, for Mand'alor, and for his people.

Another - Clan Saxon by the markings - had arrived beside the young Veren as he was called out by the Jedi ahead of him. He didn't trust the space wizards, but he didn't have to truly trust him.

Few other soldiers were actually near the pair, and a duel... perhaps it wasn't so different from a battle circle. Perhaps it was meant to be. Except it was to the death.

He set his rifle down on the ground next to him, pulling his beskad in one hand and his new pistol in the other. His thumb flipped the switch for stun.

You use your tricks, and I'll use mine, he said. If the Jedi wanted something close range, Thane could oblige, but that didn't mean he would rob himself of his entire arsenal. The intention was clear.

And with that, Thane raised the pistol in his hand and fired twice, once for the Jedi's chest and once for his thighs.

Blaster fire, explosions. This is war, this is what Mandalorians are made for.

Kerr was ready, he heard that one alien Jedi challenge his compatriot to some sort of honorable combat, looks like the Veren is obliging with a caveat. The Saxon wasn't inclined to interfere and he had his own problems, a Jedi coming right at him (@christhebetrayer). Kerr was ready for the fight. From the exterior would be be a stoic warrior here for conquest, but beneath it all Kerr was smirking for the coming fight, the adrenaline is flowing. He was sure to set his rifle he was wielding to stun.

As the Jedi came into range Kerr raised his wrists and fired three shuriken from his wrist-mounted projectile launcher, the shots were scattered but they were poised to land in the lower right rib, the stomach, and then toward upper chest in the center of his Jedi foe. The shurikens would threaten to shred the Jedi if they landed and the varying locations would make it perhaps a bit troublesome for his opponent to defend against all of.

Immediately after the third shot, Kerr would then take off using his jetpack, lifting into the air with his wings of fire. Kerr would have enough breathing room and be well out of lightsaber range as he would do so. As he is making his ascent, he would be ready to follow up with more attacks from his arsenal or otherwise react as needed

Whoever was beneath the helm had some form of honor, that much had been made clear by him dropping his rifle to the ground and reaching for his blade and pistol. Vaselsk could have easily struck at that moment by using the force and pulling him into a quick trap, but that wasn't the Jedi way. Instead, the Jedi would offer a slight nod as the battle begun.

As the man raised his arm and fired two stun bolts towards him, he had already been prepared by being in a defensive stance. The first stun shot would not need much of a move of his blade, as it had already been centered and angled to be positioned in front of his body. The round would hit his blade and would quickly dissipate as he angled his blade downwards to block the second shot, it would be easy to do for a Knight of the Jedi Order.

Tricks...that's what he called them. The Jedi would pull his left hand from his lightsaber and would raising it quickly and pulling inward. The force would swell and he'd try to use the momentum rippling from the force to send the Mandalorian out of position and towards him with a Force Pull. If the Mandalorian came stumbling forward, his right hand would twist to the side and he would send the blade's momentum in an upward slash that would target the pistol wielding arm at the point of the elbow with a quick strike -- in hopes of cutting through it and severing the man's arm.

Felix watched the Mandalorian raise his wrist, ready for whatever he was about to fire, as the shurikens flew towards him, Felix produced with his free hand a force push to disturb the trajectory they were on, forcing them into the ground ahead of him.

He would stop his advance as he saw the Mandalorian take off into the air, he had no means to reach the Mandalorian, he would realise that the mando had just given the means to fight from range. his eyes would glance to the ground where he saw the shurikens land and back to the mando, he would sprint to them gather the three, storing in two in an empty pouch on his utility belt and keeping one in his hand as he began to circle the mando keeping himself a moving target, he didn't want him to have the chance to pin him down.

The Jedi's hand came off of his saber, and that heralded... something. What sort of attack he would be dealing with exactly was difficult to determine, that was the trouble with these Jedi. Push, pull, lightning... it all looked the same.

It was the telltale acceleration forward, the feeling of being yanked by a tether that told him he was going to be pulled from his feet. Rather than fight it, he threw himself into the pull, rolling forward and pushing off so he went out to the right, wide of his opponent rather than into striking distance. The saber blade intended to strike his arm would come up short as the Mandalorian put further distance between them.

He could hear the hum of the plasma blade as it zipped past too close for comfort. He twisted as he came out of the roll, pushing himself off in an explosive attack against his opponent. His beskad slashed downard, looking to cleave through the Jedi's skull. He figured the Jedi would block it, he seemed a skilled duelist after all. These things were often decided in only a few blows, but seldom so few as this.

So just with a gesture of his hand he stopped Kerr's attack. No matter, Kerr didn't expect his little duel with a Jedi to end in the first salvo, that would have been underwhelming. But the Saxon will do as many good Mandalorian would, keep going.

Kerr Saxon was firmly in the air, he wasn't about to just stay put and let the Jedi do as he pleased. No. While the Jedi was picking up those three shuriken, Kerr would fire three shots from his rifle, aiming for the center of mass, the shots would come from an upward angle and are poised to hit at varying points in of his upper chest, by the right shoulder, the upper center, and then just a bit above his stomach.

With these stunbolts, the Jedi can't use the same move to defend himself, he's already in the middle of performing actions, and would need to immediately defend. The flying Mandalorian has the high ground and doesn't appear to have a good way to fight against an airborne opponent if he resorted to picking up those fallen shuriken. Kerr can tell he himself has the immediate advantage but the Jedi are tricky foes, and will be sure to take them seriously as appropriate.

The Jedi wouldn't be able to start circling him, but just in case Kerr would be sure to keep and eye on him and his movements. After those three shots, Kerr would be ready to continue attacking, move, or defend as needed.

The Mandalorian was showing flashes of a skilled warrior as he rolled forward and went to the right, causing his blade to miss within inches of his target. The pale alien's eyes shifted as he followed the man as his arm had extended out, quickly he'd bring two hands back to the blade properly. The man was going to take any opportunity to strike, and the combat oriented Jedi would know that he'd have to recover. He'd bring his arms quickly back in towards his chest.

Using his lead foot, he'd twist towards the right, so he was now facing the Mandalorian as he came lashing downwards towards his head. He'd raise his teal colored blade, the flat end extended out to perry and catch the cleave as it came. Metal and plasma hissed as sparks flew in the air. With the blade properly defended by his blade, the man wouldn't simply be able to bring it down, he'd have to pull away from the guard. With his other hand holding the blaster pistol, it seemed the Mandalorian had his hands full. Vaselsk would take this opportunity to plant the weight in his back leg, as he brought his lead leg up and extended it out in a powerful kick that aimed to devastate the man's knee with a clean break that would send him to the ground in pain, but alive.

The Mandalorian didn't allow him the time to collect up shurikens, proceeding to fire at him forcing Felix to stop and defend himself, he would raise his blade to the direction of incoming attacks, making tight block around his centre of mass with both hands to block the stun bolts fired at him, all of them dissipating on contact with his blade, the Mandalorian was smart with using stun bolts.

Felix wasn't going to try that collect them up again, held his saber defensively "I can block those stun bolts all day, so why don't you come down here and fight your ancestors did blade to blade, or are you scared to disappoint them." he would shout towards the mando, he knew that Mandalorians were often pridefully people who took challenges and insults seriously whether this mando was one of them he was about to find out.

Thane's attack was blocked, but the Mandalorian was undeterred. The Jedi was good, he had to give him that, and Thane couldn't really find hatred in his heart for the man. What he cared about was victory.

The Jedi's kick came quickly, launched at the Mandalorian's knee quickly enough that shifting his entire weight to avoid it was impossible. Instead, he lifted the leg up off the ground so that it was not rooted in place. Rather than strike the knee, the kick hit just below the knee, forcing the Mandalorian's knee to bend backwards instead of breaking. At the same time, Thane pulled the trigger on his pistol. Aimed at the Jedi's waist, the bolt should strike home in sync with the blow to Thane's leg.

With his saber high in a guard, blocking was impossible and with both hands on his saber, there was no chance of fancy magic tricks. Furthermore, with his weight all on a single foot there was little chance for maneuvering or dodging.

Regardless of his shot impacting, Thane now had one leg out from under him and his right knee now came crashing down into the dirt so that he was in a kneeling position. As he came down, so too did his sword, by necessity, following his body downward.

The Jedi he is fighting is right, he didn't doubt his adversary could deflect more of those stun bolts. Kerr smiled. With that, Kerr would then switch weapons, he would put away his rifle, and then draw out his beskad kurki to his right hand, and a blaster pistol to his left. As he is doing that, Kerr would descend to the ground, two feet landing gently at the ground.

With that, Kerr would then head towards the Jedi, at decent speed with his blade and blaster in hand, not fast enough that he would be too far committing to anything and running head first into a trap.

Being sure to set his pistol to stun mode, the Saxon would study the stance of his opponent and look for an opening in it as he proceeds. At the same time, he kept himself on guard for possible force use, or any other attacks or tricks, as he is pointing his blaster at the opponent, and his blade was raised above shoulder height, ready to defend or attack as appreciate.

If left uninterrupted, Kerr would end up five meters away from his opponent, then he will decide his next attack.

The battle around the plains raged on, as lightsabers hummed and blasters fired, the battle between the Wizard and the Warrior was no different. The pair had been engaged and focus, neither side seemed to gain an edge, that much had been made clear. A lesser opponent would have taken the brunt of that knee strike, but this warrior was no lesser foe. The Mandalorian had adjusted his leg's position, causing his strike to miss slightly.

The flash from the pistol came as his hit had connected, it was a smart move, and thus left Vaselsk without anyway to mitigate it. The bolt would hit his extended leg, sending a shooting sensation up his leg and causing it to repel and forced him roll backwards in pain as the Mandalorian went tumbling to the ground. His lightsaber would fall from his hand and would roll off to the right, away from the two of them -- the aqua teal light snapping away.

He'd pull himself into a kneeling position, his zapped leg resting against the earth as he still faced the Mandalorian directly -- only five to seven meters away. His face winced in pain, but he didn't feel anger nor hatred for the Mandalorian warrior. There would be no time to pick up his blade, his leg was wounded and any attempt to reach for it would leave him exposed.

Instead, he would quickly bring both hands up as the Mandalorian's sword had lowered to the ground along with his body. He'd allow the force to flow through him and into both of his hands. He was was wide open to being blasted at that moment, as he had focused himself to channeling the force. Within only a mere second or two, the Jedi Knight would send a wide gushing blast of the force towards the kneeling Mandalorian -- hoping to send him flying through the air and crashing into the plains, knocking him out of the fight for good.

Regardless if it worked or failed, the cost of the force and the pain in his leg had his breathing heavy. This would have to end soon. There is no death, there is only the force.

as he watched the Mandalorian swap his weapon and descend, his left hand reached around his back for his shoto sabre, activating the yellow blade in a forward grip. it seems this mando did have pride and accepted his challenge, melee combat was dangerous but he had no means to attack whilst he was in the air

he would change his stance as he approached, his left leg would be forward, his shoto above it at hip height the blade pointed across his body while his other blade would be in a high stance the blade point down across his body. he would let the mando make the first move

The Jedi lost his saber in a flash, and Thane brought up his pistol and fired twice more into the Jedi's chest. The hits at this range should be impossible to dodge in his current state and should permanently put the Jedi out of the fight. Hopefully.

It was not without cost, however. Down on his own knee, Thane could see the Jedi's hands come together. He threw himself to the side, looking to clear out of the way of the incoming strike. It was only met with partial success.

Rather than taking the full brunt of the impact of the Force blast, it struck him in the right side of the body, spinning him and knocking him back but not quite throwing him the dozens of meters it would have if it were a more direct blow. Even so, pain shot through his side and he was fairly certain that there were some broken ribs on the right side now. The wind was knocked out of him, but the damage would have been much worse had he not had a duraplast piece over his chest.

He pushed himself back up, turning back toward the Jedi and he tried to force air into his lungs. What he was going to find when he turned around, he wasn't sure, but he was going to be ready... hopefully.

They were closing in. The Mandalorian clearly saw that the Jedi was playing defensive this whole time, not even bothered to launch an attack of his own this whole time. If the Jetti won't fight, the Saxon will most definitely be fine with attacking for sure.

While still out of lightsaber range, Kerr would fire from his blaster at the Jedi's legs, more specifically two shots at the Jedi's left leg calf he put forward and another one to the Jedi's other leg. The Jedi doesn't have any leg armor, so if any shots connect he will have one useless leg which would leave the Jedi venerable the rest of the fight , the Jedi's stances don't lend well for defending his lower body either.

As Kerr closes into lightsaber range, he would be ready to react to his opponents moves, and attack further depending on what he does. Soon, Kerr will sink his blade into the Jedi's flesh yet...
