Sith Mission: Delving Deep
OOC Here
Name: Delving Deep
Description: In the Darkness, lie terrible secrets with a collosal amount of secret wealth hidden deep beneath the surfacre of their austere venere. Combined with a team from the Exchange a group of Sith venture into the tomb, to combat the dark creatures within, and reclaim what was once theirs.
Location: Sith Tomb, Yavin
Participants: 2-3 (Sith and Exchange)
Current Approved:
Reward: 5,000 Credits

Aemon waited patiently outside the decrepit tomb, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle around him. He wore his usual robe and mask, under his robe he wore black field gear to help with mobility. The canopy of trees smothered the area in shade, moss extended its reach around the ancient stonework and rubble. He was sitting on the remains of an ancient pillar, meditating on the dark energies eminating from deep within the tomb. For the expedition he would be joined by two of his fellow Sith, Geir Ambiors and Jax Verdant. They would also be joined by an Exchange member, a young woman named Karva Baptiste. He had not worked with these three before, but had confidence they would prove to be useful in this venture. He had read each of their files extensively during the flight to Yavin, hoping to gain insight into each of his new associates. Each seemed prepared for what was ahead, even though the tomb likely held unknown horrors that hadn't been unearthed for centuries.

Jax had not been to Yavin for over 100 years, he did not remember the forest being so dense. When Jax had agreed to this mission, he hoped he would be able to gain I tell about his companion, who is an agent of The Exchange, but no record was found. Jax wore his traditional attire for this mission, a large black cloak that covered dark gray and red field wear. On his waist was a belt from which two saber's hung in plain sight, along with his blaster pistol, and his rifle was strapped to his back, under his cloak. His Mask glinting in the sunlight, he approached the Temple. Another Sith was already there and was waiting for him. "Good day, I am Jax Verdant, nice to meet you," he stretched his hand out or shake, his red tattoo showing as his arm left his cloak.

this wasn't the first time Geir had been to Yavin IV and probably wouldn't be the last. the reason that he and his companions were here was not unlike reasons he had traveled on previously. This planet would most likely become more familiar as time continued. something about force nexuses, arcane object and tombs made them coincidentally reside on jungle planets like this one. Of course Geir had traveled to Dxun and lived there and this place seemed a walk in a coruscant flower garden compared to the beast inhabited world. many such beasts had been his prey instead of the other way around. now he wondered again as he had many times before if he would find interesting quarry on this planet like many others or be disappointed and go unthrilled.

the six foot four frame of the man walked down from the Edge of Temptation, Geir's Icarus-class Star Courier which so far had served him very well in his activities which have kept him busy as of late across the galaxy. his boots made gentle thuds before they reached the soft and rich soil of the jungle floor. He wore a light combat vest on his torso as well as lightly armored shins and knees though the rest of his body didn't have any body armor. on his waist he had his .48 caliber Enforcer pistol, as well as a customized SA-21 "Sunspear" sidearm. on this mission he had decided to not bring anything larger than those but had two thermal detonators because he just enjoys explosives in addition to his two lightsabers. he had a light backpack with a few items but not a great deal since he liked to stay light. the dark apparel he wore was offset by his snow white skin color and similarly colored hair.

his GE3 Protocol droid would tend the ship until he returned. the ramp lifted behind hi and he headed to meet with the others. it would take a few dozen minutes since he didn't like to land near the others and kept his secrecy for his own sake. He had not worked with these sith before nor this Exchange member so he took his normal precautions when working with new colleagues. as he approached the temple and the trees thinned he saw two figures both he could tell were Sith since they seemed familiar and had probably seen them at one point or another. Geir hoped that they weren't inexperienced hot heads like the last partner he had worked with. when he approached them he didn't speak but just made it obvious he was ready. he sucked on the straw that led to his backpack where he had a pouch for water, or whatever he wanted to fill it with, so that he could stay hydrated or intoxicated if he wished.

Karva had often heard ghost stories about the Sith growing up. About how they'd abscond in the middle of the night with force sensitive children in order to train their next generation of shadowy warriors and how their past times included pillaging and murder. Granted a lot of these rumors were probably spread by the Jedi and since no one in her family was force sensitive she doubted she was in any real danger; especially since they asked the Exchange for help securing some sort of tomb. Karva was not used to jungle planets such as Yavin IV, parasitic insects continued to swarm around her head and bite into the exposed parts of her body when she wasn't busy smacking them. She much preferred cities or more arid planets.

The first thing that Karva saw when she stepped out of her ship was the large stone building that looked like a primitive version of the Ziggurats that the Edemians built on their home planet. She was willing to bet a decent amount of credits that the stone building also housed the tomb she was suppose to clear out. Karva was clearly the shortest and youngest out of the party of Sith that looked no different than the Jedi missionary that visited Karva's old home, albeit the Sith were armed with more than just a light saber and dressed in darker garb.

She would be losing to herself if she said that she wasn't at least slightly intimidated by the three heavily armed Sith Warriors that looked like they could kill her with their brain if she crossed them. "Good day! My name is Karva Baptiste!" She introduced herself to the three Sith Warriors, standing up strait with her three tails also in an upright position as she held her intricately engraved scatter blaster in her hands. "I understand that the Sith needed a little extra help clearing out a tomb?"

Karva was not 100% convinced that this wouldn't end horribly wrong and secretly prayed that she came out with her mind intact.

This wouldn't be the first time Aemon had delved into a Sith tomb, he knew the basics of what they could expect while delving into the darkest depths of the tomb. The only question was what they were after, the mission details described their objective vaguely and only interpreted it as 'Secret Wealth'. Was it knowledge? An ancient Sith weapon? Or was it something more insidious? He was pulled out of his thoughts by the arrival of his three affiliates. This would prove to be an interesting venture, if they did not meet their grisly ends in the Stygian depths.

He merely nodded his head in welcome to the three, still deep in concentration on the source of the energies that came from deep within the tomb. He had been at it for hours while waiting for their arrival but to no avail. After a minute or so he collected his thoughts and addressed the three "Good day to you all, and yes." He looked at Karva directly "The Sith do require help 'Clearing out' this musty old place." He added some of his charm in these words, hoping to inspire trust in the young woman. He knew of the stories told around the galaxy about the Sith, and they didn't exactly paint a pretty picture. Trust would be one of the many thing things they would need on this venture. He turned back to the other two "So I presume we are all prepared to begin our expedition?"

Jax let his hand fall as Aemon did not shake back and turned to face the other two. He looked around at his companions and reached out toward the door with the force. He felt the intricute locking system and carefully began unlocking the temple doors. As the door unlocked and the doors swung open, he turned back towards his companions and said, "Who's first?"

with Geir's body slightly turned towards the two fellow sith as well as the temple that was beyond them he could still detect the approaching presence of the fourth member of their party. the member of the exchange was not what he had expected and he thought he shouldn't have made any assumptions about the company he would keep. in response to her introduction his eyes widened slightly and he smiled like a child who saw a cute animal they wanted as a pet.

He listened to what she said but after that he didn't hear anything as he went closer to her and bent down slightly inspecting her body with attentive interest. "Three tails...my my you are just the cutest thing i've seen in months." he had interacted with many species across the galaxy but so far he had not done so with whatever this Karva Baptiste person was.

Karva gripped her scatter-blaster tightly as Geir ignored his comrades and instead approached her, bending over slightly to Inspect her more closely, his menacing frame making her eyes slightly widen out of fear. She was taken aback by his statement which almost instantly made her cheeks red out of embarrassment. "I.. I.. Um.... Well.. Thank you.." She babbled in response as she took a deep breath in order to collect herself. If Gier's comment and friendly demeanor proved anything then it was that the stories about the Sith were in fact exaggerated; this put Karva's mind at ease as she breathed a silent sigh of relief.

She smiled slightly as the ice had been broken and turned to the half human half Echani that asked if they were ready. "Ready and willing!" She replied.

Now that they were all here the mission could finally begin. He rose from the ruined pillar he was sitting on and brushed off the dirt that had accumulated on his robe, he was starting to regret not leaving his prized possession on the ship but it was too late now. "Well since Jax took the initiative unlocked the entrance, and Karva was the only one to say anything I'll just assume you're ready as well Geir." He walked over to the entrance and peered inside, his eyes however could not pierce the darkness inside. Even with the small amount of natural light that penetrated the dense foliage of the Jungle he couldn't see a foot into the tombs entrance.

Sighing lightly He turned to face his companions "One last thing before we finish our little introduction, I'm Aemon." He then lit his Lightsaber and held it aloft as a makeshift light source then descended into the unnatural darkness of the tomb.

Jax smirked at his companions as they got to know each other. At Aemon's comment about the door, he said, "Well, since I was the last one to close it, I feel that I should be the one to open it." With out waiting for the questions that were undoubtedly forming in his companion's heads, he strode in after Aemon with both of his sabers ignited.

with Karva thanking him Geir just smiled displaying his slightly exaggerated canines with no malicious intent. from there he turned from though he kept his gaze on her a moment longer so his head followed his body's direction in a slightly delayed manner. He didn't need to say that he was ready, he wouldn't have come if he wasn't and he didn't want to make a sarcastic comment in new company at the moment so he just followed after Jax. He didn't seem to need to introduce himself since the others seemed to know who he was anyways.

Geir pulled out a tough high power flashlight made for spelunking and other extreme sports. the Anzat seemed to not have brought one and so relied on his lightsabers instead for lighting. "You weren't the first though." he said the first part of his speech as more of a statement than a question before following it with more words. "why could you not attain what you wanted the first time?"

It wasn't so much a questioning of his skill as an individual but Geir wanted to know what dangers lay ahead that a single sith could not take on alone. if he had not been alone in the first place then where were the members of the last tomb raiders. ancient sith have been infamous for laying their tombs with extensive catacombs, traps and other unintentional dangers that developed as ages past, the likes of which Geir would prefer to avoid.

Karva tailed closely behind Geir as the party made their way into the catacombs, silently cursing herself as she forgot to bring a flashlight. Karva was normally not a very nervous person but creepy tombs, Sith, and the possibility of dying violently in some trap was a potent combination that put most on edge. While she wasn't privy to the conversation between Geir and Jax she still felt obliged to provide a sarcastic response to relieve some of the tension. "He ran out of space magic obviously." Karva mused as her ears perked up and her tails started to involuntarily wag.

Aemon held his Lightsaber firmly aloft, bathing the corridor and himself in its blood red light. He could feel what could only be described as childish anticipation, the lost knowledge or power that they could obtain from this place was a tantalizing thought. Baiting him deeper into the darkness. He continued at a steady pace through the rubble filled corridor, stepping over loose stone and the occasional heap of bones. No traps yet that he could detect, it was odd that they were this far in and haven't tripped one of the many possible defense measures.

The three behind him seemed to be talking but their conversation fell on deaf ears, he was too absorbed in thought to notice anything other than what was ahead or possible traps that they could mistakenly trigger with one clumsy move.

"You misunderstand, I was not on a mission to remove attain the targets, I was here to lock the temple before the Sith Empire fell." Jax smiled under his mask, awaiting his companions reaction to this revelation.

Geir grinned slightly at the anthropomorphic female's reply but kept searching the walls and ceilings for any signs of interest. they weren't looking for just traps but artifacts, warnings and anything that might pose a threat or an assistance towards their cause. Geir found it hard to believe the Anzat was the one that sealed the tomb himself. Geir had been only a child at the time of such events and a great deal of chaos occurred across the galaxy. but these structures seemed much older than just a mere century or so and if they held such treasures why leave them for so long? "I think you have some explaining to do. ancient tombs, vague information, humor me in what exactly you of all people have to do with this place."

Karva raised her eyebrow as the conversation between the two Sith went from uninteresting to just plain unbelievable in about 12 seconds when Jax stated that he originally sealed the temple. "Yeah sure, you're the one that sealed this centuries old tomb and I'm actually the galaxy's #1 competitive swoop racer." She mused, her words dripping with sarcasm as she tripped over a creeping vine which sent her Almost barreling into Geir.

"Maybe he used his space magic" Muttered Aemon quietly, he had been pulled out of his thoughts by the new development. He would be lying if he said his interest hadn't been piqued when Jax claimed to have originally sealed the temple, but whether or not it was actually remained to be seen. He had to admit he had doubts to the validity of the Anzats story, even with his species reported longevity. He turned on his heel and directed his gaze to Jax "Care to elaborate on your supposed insight on this tomb? I know that your people are long lived, but to have sealed this very tomb seems too coincidental on your part." There was an edge of icy coolness to his voice, he had not read this in the report on the mission. Which would've been vital information to the success of their task.

Answering Geir's question, he said, "My Uncle is what I have to do with this temple. He was sent here to guard it from attack and when he called for reinfoelrcements, I was the first to respond. I came as fast as I could, but Inwas too late, he was dead and the attackers had left. I mourned his passing by locking him and the others that had fallen, in the deepest part of this tomb. I locked it and made my way back to Korriban to report what happened. I am 300 years old, and was a member of the Sith for 150 years of that time. Then I became a mercenary until the Brotherhood showed up. And here I am, paying homage to my Uncle and his comrades. That, is why I am here, that is why I chose to unlock the temple." He strode past Aemon and continued down the corridor, sending out slight waves of force to sense any traps ahead.

a chuckle escaped Geir's chest as he heard the other's reply before a slight murmur followed. he was pleased with Jax's answer for now and had no further questions for the moment. the Anzat was not present at the original individual's burial that this tomb belonged to nor at it's construction so there were potentially other hostilities that resided within this place that even Jax didn't know about.

the man drew his flashlight about and examined the various engravings and carvings on the walls. creations of destruction and conquest were put on display. he hovered his hand over one of them just before touching it. if anything he had learned to touch as little of a tomb created to house a dark lord of the sith, both for safety as well as to keep the tomb in pristine condition. many would walk past such creations but Geir took the time to examine them and in the past they had often assisted him in finding other lost objects, many of which resided in the Supreme Leader's possession at the moment.

"Ugh, An old ass Sith to go with an old ass tomb; what's not to love?" Karva muttered under her breath as she pulled herself back up to her feet. "I am actually a pretty good pilot." She softly remarked to Geir. There was something off about the walls of the tomb; to Karva they seemed to move slightly almost like the edge of a cloud of smoke, however, it felt like damp but solid stone as she reached out and put her hand on the wall. Karva's chest felt unusually tight, probably just a side effect from breathing in the musty air from a centuries old tomb. 'Might be a good idea to get a check up after this.' She thought to herself.
