it feels like the more I swat away your feeble argument as of why i can't mess with your actions, the more rubbish you pull from your behinds.

1. You did too much in one post! (Actually, I made one action and talked a bit while describing my surroundings, you just didn't read my first post for some reason.)

2. Me and the other mod aren't next to each other, the blasters are coming from either directions! (I'm literally standing right next to Elias, whichever angle you're shooting from, it's in Rahzz's direction.)

3. You can't block a blaster shot! (Then explain how Anakin and Obi Wan and any other protagonist from the star wars films do it?)

Are you going to keep pulling this BS or can we continue?

How do Jedi go about blocking onslaughts of projectiles at a time without using the force?

Seeing this stuff, which happens all the time, being told that I can't block a single blaster shot is a little hard to believe.

Besides, Elias hasn't been allowed to post in eight messages or two rounds and hasn't been allowed to defend himself, so someone has to! What else can i really reply to other than the bolts flying in my direction? do I decide what happens to his character or do I write the short post of 'what happens next?' without contributing?

If the information on your profile doesn't determine your skill, what's the point of having a profile? Just for history and personality?

Also, is this to say that moderators can jump into whatever open/ask thread and do whatever they want while members have to carefully describe to each and every moderator of that thread their exact intentions and every movement without impacting the thread in the slightest?

I'm sorry, but this feels biased heavily to the moderator's side.

My first thread on this site, my second post in and I'm being nagged to death by moderators who wish to orchestrate the happenings of this thread to their every whim because they want to rack up their kill count on new players. Any move made to defy a moderator in character must be questioned and harassed to the point that it isn't even fun anymore.

Assumptions or not, I'm a brand new player who's just stepped in and this is the impression I'm getting.

I want to clear a few things up because there seems to be some confusion.

We are on the same side. @Phoenix and I want to either kill or capture the Exiles. We want your moves against the Exiles to be successful but we can't do that unless we are working together as a team. When a staff member is involved in a thread, they are just like every other member. The color of our name does not dictate how the thread goes. However, we do have extensive knowledge of the rules and that often plays into how we view a thread. We aren't trying to dictate what happens in the thread but it's important for new members to learn the rules. I want to make sure you have future success on the site and part of that is knowing how PVP works on the site.

For the blaster bolts I think there is a misunderstanding. A Force user can absolutely block blaster bolts. They don't do that from sensing the bolt but with enhanced reflexes, etc. The bolt is being fired from out of your view. You would not see it in time to act. Not that you can't block it, but you can't act fast enough to block it.

You don't have to respond to anything in a post. In PVP a round takes place at relatively the same time for everyone. So rather than react to our posts, you do something at the same time as our posts. You can't write what happens to another person's character, only what happens to your character.

Information in profiles is for flavor only. The stats do not have an effect on PVP.

What you are describing is what any member can do in any open thread. This is how PVP works on the site. You have to carefully describe each and every action. I think it would be helpful if you re-read the site's rules on combat. That has a lot of useful information.

Finally, we try really hard to keep these OOC threads as polite as possible, so please do that. I don't want to report an allies post and I will let @Phoenix decide, but there seem to be a lot of misconceptions that could effect your RPing in the future. All I'm asking is you take the blocking of the blaster shot out and take a different action that makes more sense. If you have further concerns please PM me on the site or discord.

First, I would like everyone to take a deep breath and breathe.

Secondly, lets move on. Phoe, Valen, the post is not perfect, but given this member has only made 2 IC posts on the site, I don't think it warrants edits especially if you can RP around it. Offer suggestions this round on how to improve and what to avoid and next time (Rhozz if you continue to not follow suggestion) then it will definitely need a post edit.

Rhozz, Valen brings up some valid points in regards to teamwork and understanding how PvP works, which isn't easy and definitely not ideal for your first thread on the site. However, you're doing better than most and to even enter a thread where there would be conflict, I will give you a thumbs up since it is a definite challenge, even site veterans still struggle with the technique from time to time.

So here is what I suggest:

1. Create a PM chain or join in a chat together on Discord so you guys can coordinate where you are and your attacks/defenses. If you decide not to, and do your own thing, then there might be IC consequences to your actions.

2. Rhozz, I suggest reading the PvP guide to help you along. If you're not sure about where people are or if your post has too much, too little, etc., ask! I understand that it can be intimidating to interact with members of colored names or even members who have been here for a long time, but we're willing to help. Showing teamwork and willing to learn and cooperate now is going to open more opportunities to RP with other members later.

Thanks!

Can we just not though? This thread has given me an awful perception of the site and I think it's better to just leave it. Can we legit just move on and do an escape? If not, then fine. Just auto kill Elias and I'll find somewhere else to RP. I left behind PVP heavy RPs for this reason - don't want to deal with it again.

This is also why I reacted the way I did in the beginning: it's already following the same exact catalogue as every toxic PvP climate ever. People jump in, stack themselves into an advantageous position, rulebook everything, argue every possible facet in their opponent's post to put themselves into an even more advantageous position, etc yadda yadda.

I've seen this probably a hundred times - been RPing for years. I think I'll just get out before I get cancer.

It is your turn and @blstrgmr's turn. You can post whatever reaction you like to our posts. If you wish to retreat, we will not contest your retreat and the thread will end after our reaction posts.

In the future, I would strongly suggest sticking to ASK threads. I believe this is the second open you have posted where others joined or attempted to join and issues cropped up. ASK threads are completely under the posters control and you don't have the risk of others joining without permission. ASK threads allow the poster to control who enters the thread and who does not enter the thread. The risks of an open are negated.

Yeah, I'm with @Incubus on this, it's ridiculous to say the least.

See ya, enjoy chomping the next newbies on the conveyor!

Sounds fine. I'll retreat. Thank you.

I will stick to ask threads. Although, the first one was fine - I don't mind altercation, but I put a lot of thought into my characters and don't like dying on the first week. Loco and Ecc. agreed it would be a non lethal encounter, so I'm chill there. I just don't like the way this went - reminds me too much of the part of my RP life that I really didn't enjoy.

However, I do appreciate that you're letting us retreat. I'll post soon.

I'm getting extremely tired of your snide comments. You need to cut it out right now. Not only have you tried to use mod powerplays as an excuse when you didn't like something, but now you're going out of your way to antagonize the situation after Incubus and Valen are already handling this. Because you have already been given a warning previously, you will be taking a three-day long break from the site. Normally bans are not made public, but I have ZERO tolerance for unnecessarily starting up trouble and making personal attacks. If this is simply how you plan to behave, then I kindly invite you to leave the site because it's better off without over top the snippy and problematic members like you.

That goes for any other new OR veteran person here that feels the need to tack on insults and snippy commentary on every OOC post they make.

I'm beyond disgusted at the attitudes all around in this OOC and I hope this can be a lesson learned on trying to be polite in presenting arguments.
