Though her species originally hailed from the planet Hirsi, Desta and her familial spawn were hatched into a pod of traveling entertainers. Their abilities ranged from dancing to acrobatics; theatrical productions were often on show, displaying great comedies as well as tragedies. Desta herself had the most developed sense of humor, leading her to perform comedic skits; when she wasn’t on stage cracking jokes, she was helping her numerous siblings with their routines and gimmicks. She discovered her ability with the Force rather naturally and used it to aid in the family circus performance, attempting dare-devil stunts and feats of courage. It was during one of these displays she caught the eye of a wandering Jedi; he encouraged Desta to consider a life among the Order, where her skills and abilities could be better fostered.
Seeing how serious the situation seemed, Desta made a deal with the Jedi Master. He could mentor her in the ways of the Force, so long as she could return the favor and teach him a thing or two about learning to crack a joke. With that, Desta joined the Jedi ranks and spent time training to become a Knight. Her antics during her days as a Palawan are still spoken of by a select few temple overseers. A true inspiration to younglings alike.
Desta is an extremely joyful person and thoroughly enjoys sharing her sense of humor with others. She is known for her rather prolific joke-making and love of puns. The knight can often be found encouraging and instigating pranks on her fellow Jedi. Not only is Desta a thrill seeker, she also enjoys the pleasures of life; some may even consider her a borderline hedonist but nothing pleases her more than making friends to frolic with. Violence is not her chosen method of dealing with things; indeed, it is actually her very last choice of options. The teal comedian would rather de-escalate problems than antagonize things further.
Like the rest of her species, Desta has very smooth, iridescent skin, which is mostly teal in color. There are red markings on the front of her cranial space. She has no hair, it should be noted there are raised silvery-blue scales on her head, wrists, waists, and ankles (which could be mistaken for hair at a distance). Her face has no visible nose, but there are long, pointed ears, and round, jewel-like eyes. Though delicate in height and appearance, Desta is quite strong for her size.
It should come as no surprise that Desta is skilled in Force Empathy; she can quite quickly pick up on the mood of others and read their emotions well known to gauge their manner. The knight can also influence these emotions but only to a certain extent as she does not like the idea of abusing her influence; she only seeks to offer comfort and joy. This good natured disposition allows Desta to heal others, both in body and soul. Force Telepathy is also within her arsenal. Interestingly enough, when push comes to shove, the Qwohog chooses to fight with twin green-bladed lightsabers with tonfa-shaped hilts.
Being completely amphibious, with her lungs connected to her mouth and gill slits under their arms, Desta is adapted to a variety of freshwater environments. Saltwater however would damage her lungs and gills; therefore she requires a protective suit in order to swim in the saline oceans.
