THEME
Well the day seemed to be going as well as it could when on some isolated, rust bucket of a planet. But this was where the best deal was for the ship he wanted. The dealer was reliable, or so he was told. That was good, but reputation others provided was not as good as knowing the individual personally.

His own ship, a well worn XS-100, set down and he told his pilot droid to lock it down. The rest of the way they would hoof it. If necessary the pilot droid could fly the ship out of here. That was the plan, the two rebels would get their acklay assualt starfighters and fly them home.

Approaching the meeting place the man they were coming to greet came out with a smile. Everything smelled of either rust or oil around her like one giant garage. But the Drast expected as much since this whole place was a planet of nefarious individuals either chasing or running from stuff.

"Howdy. Where are they at?" The man nodded knowing that was about as close to a pleasant greeting as he was going to get. "Right this way. Follow me." He wobbled a little as he walked. Clearly he was older and borderline geriatric but somehow was still in the business of moving military grade hardware by less than legal means.

The trio would then work their way through some winding innner hallways until they finally came towards some open space. Across it ere various vehicles. All of them were land based like air speeders, rovers, walkers, etc. "Where are the ships pops." Brent asked with some hint of suspicion in his voice.

"Oh right this way they're-" He did not get to finish his sentence though. Across the open ground was the hangar he had been pointing towards. The doors opened, creaking with the age that they had sustained. But the opening soon revealed that there were quite a few beings inside the hangar.

They were a few hundred meters away still but they noticed the trio. Some muffled yells from the distance were still clearly directions. Soon eleven men with blasters began running out onto the runway area and planning to meet them. "They're stealing my products!"

Crix had hopped a ride on Fury's XS-100 for the trip. His original plan was to fly his own ship and have Peetwo pilot The Rambler, but he figured it'd be easier to just ride with the Drast. Had he known this little adventure was going to be a shab show he would have reconsidered, but the force moves in mysterious ways and bandits are going to steal so here they were.

As the shop owner quivered in fear, Crix went into motion. The eleven members of the approaching vanguard had broken into multiple groups and were taking up defensive positions. Crix picked a squad of four, pulled his Renegade Heavy blaster and went to work. He took off in their direction heading for his own cover. Blaster fire erupted as he got closer and he had to slide in behind a stack of starfighter accessory boxes. The Gunslinger stepped around the other side of his makeshift barricade and opened fire. He shot four rounds and each one landed true.

Small puffs of gore as the beings fell to the ground was the only sign they'd been hit. Each member of the squad he'd chosen fell to the ground. Four down seven to go.

Crix's attack was a rousing success. Results here.

Brent stopped and his shoulders sank a bit. Of course there was someone trying to get in the way of a perfectly good shady purchase of some military grade technology. His head turned and looked off to one side staring at nothing with an unhappy expression on his face.

Shortly after a blaster bolt whizzed past his head making him cease his transcendent antics for a moment. With a sound that may have been a groan or a sigh he broke into a run. A few shots came close but none of them actually hit him. At this range it seemed the thieves were bad shots.

The Drast made it all the way to the furthest piece of cover before it was open ground. Looking behind him he saw Crix popping of blasting shots and dropping a few of the thieves. While in cover Brent remembered he had his recently acquired lightsabers. But he was not sure that displaying them would be such a good idea. So instead he produced his R5R blaster rifle to prepare for some damage to be dealt by his own hands.

Brent is going to avoid taking damage by going for cover (Rousing success)

Everything was going as well as one would expect a simple ship pick up would in the fringes of the expansion region. Crix hunkered down behind his cover and mimicked Fury, "I totally know a super chill dude who wants to sell us some really cool starfighters!"

The Jedi rolled his eyes and chanced a peek around cover. Blaster fire nearly took his head off as he immediately retreated behind the rocking durasteel containers. He wouldn't be able to stay here much longer, the success of his initial attack had painted a huge target on him and the remaining seven were focused on avenging their fallen. he could feel their internal rolling anger, but none of them had allowed their emotions to change their attack pattern which toled the Jedi they were pros. Crix swore and carefully shifted to the other side of his cover. He scanned his left flank and spotted another viable barricade as concentrated blaster fire ripped through one of the crates that made up his cover.

Crix's right side was exposed and he was forced into motion. Channeling the force into his body he burst from cover sprinting for the new cover. As he did their trap was sprung. Four steps out of cover he discovered the cover he'd been looking to take was occupied. His eyes went wide as he realized his mistake. Raising his Renegade blaster he fired off three shots, none of them aimed and each only hoping to scare his adversary off, but it didn't work. The Pirate fired. The bolt ripped through the air and just narrowly missed the Jedi. Crix's arm was still extended and he was still moving in much faster than a normal human could, the pirate took a moment to compensate and then fired again.

The blaster bolt shot across his renegade ruining the barrel of the weapon and its ion cell cap. The smuggler didn't waste time wondering if it was salvageable, he followed the beckoning of the force and continued his charge. He was upon the pirate before they could get off a third shot, and Crix hurdled the barrier and tacked the bastard. The Jedi and Pirate were locked in a deadly grappling match. The winner would undoubtedly deliver a fatal or devastating blow. The Jedi just hoped the force was on his side.

Crix is in trouble. Attack was a major fail and his Heavy blaster was rendered useless for the remainder of the thread. Results

From this distance, even over the din of the blaster fire he heard Crix's complaint. In response he just gave him a specific finger as a response. Brent had a few retorts handy at all times but in this situation, shouting and attracting more attention to himself did not seem like a good idea.

Instead he peaked around the corner and leveled his R5R blaster at the nearest enemy. He sighted down the barrel. Combat was still combat and he fired off several shots. He missed a few that caused some of the enemies to take cover. But then Crix came into view. What the hell was he doing!? Whatever it was Brent took the time to take a careful shot and hit the man that he was grappling with square in the back.

Next came the looks from the enemy's cohorts. They saw the dead body in their peripherals but were more focused on trying to find where the bolts had come from since they had been aiming at someone else entirely. Seeing the attention he had drawn Brent shuffled back into cover. A moment later a few blaster bolts pinged the ground in front of where he had previously been looking. Well, they knew where he was now. At least they were not fully focused on Crix at the moment.

Brent is gonna join in on the violence and shoot at the group of seven four that shot at Crix.

Crix struggled against the pirate. Baslter fire sounded from behind him and instinctively, the smuggler slipped a cross and stepped to the other man's side. Crix got an under hook and slammed an elbow into the bridge of the pirate nose. The Jedi set an over hook gaining full control and as he did just in for the pirate the lurch forward and suddenly go slack. The smell of ruined flesh nearly made Crix's stomach turn, but he didn't have time to morn his adversaries death.

The Jedi sank into cover and threw up a quick thank you to Fury. Two groups of three remained from the initial eleven and with Fury's help Crix was able to take the flank from his opposition earning him the advantage. Crix pulled his Quickdraw blaster and opened fire. Two pirates were blindsided by the four bolts The Gunslinger sent in their direction. Four remained and they were starting to break. The smuggler dipped back behind cover and awaited their next volley. Hopefully, they'd be able to pick these guys off quickly so they could stop thieves from stealing their Kriffing ships!

With Fury's help Crix dropped two more baddies. Results

Seeing that Crix was able to get his act together and not meet an untimely and frankly violent end, Brent made sure his cover was secure. Shots pinged around him causing pockets and spots of concrete and metal to be super heated in flashes as blaster bolts hit around him. The number of shots was less than earlier so that was good.

Deciding he was having enough at getting shot at he ran to a new piece of cover. The Drast fired his blaster rifle as he moved catching two separate enemies with a shot each. This made them fall back to the ground but like his greens and girl friends Brent finished them off.

The remaining attention from the others turned towards him. Once again the man was behind cover and hoping that they did not have explosives or the insight to pie off the edge. These guys had lost several comrades and maybe now were beginning to realize that this was going to be far from easy.

Brent gonna do the pew pew.

The sound of battle simmered into a tense silence between the remaining four participants. Crix and Fury had taken down all but two of the Pirates and he could feel their growing apprehension as the silence elongated between them.

Crix called out, "You guys done?"

The Pirates didn't respond, but he could sense them weighing their options.

"It was eleven to two and well, we're still here," he continued. "Now, if I were in your position I'd probably start to wonder if this job was worth my life." His words hung silently in the air. The warning issued was clear, surrender or die. "I would recommend life, just throw down your weapons and come out with your hands up."

The Jedi's Quickdraw Blaster was still in his hand he was prepared to finish the job if they didn't concede. The unfortunate fact of the matter was the ships in question were state of the art and pirates with that kind of power would be a big issue for the already precarious hold the Alliance had on its territories in the area. If word got out that a couple of Alliance members let a group of pirates steal their high tech starfighters, well it wouldn't be good that's for sure.

The sound of metal skittering across hard-packed sand caught his attention. "We give up, please don't kill us!"

Crix peeked around his cover and saw the two pirates with their hands in the air and weapons on the ground in front of them. Calling out to the force, the Jedi recovered his damaged Renegade and holstered it, making a mental note to get it repaired when he got back to base. With his Quickdraw still leveled on the two pirates, Crix, approached and detained them.

"Alright, now where in the hell are you guy taking our ships?"

Crix succeeds in convincing the last two guards to surrender. Results

Crix's voice came over the sounds of battle while Brent still struggled to make sure no appendage was in danger of getting shot. The surpressive fire against him ceased and he peaked over the cover he had taken. Getting up Brent brushed himself off. In hindsight he realized the two remaining pirates should be scared. They had just killed the rest of their group and did so with little issue, at least Brent did. Crix looked to have a sizzling blaster he put in one of his holsters. yikes

Walking over to the two surrendered pirates Brent moved the weapons at their feet a little bit farther away. He patted them down quickly and removed any remaining items that could be dangerous if used against the two rebels. All the while he kept one hand with his blaster trained on them.

Looking past them the rumble of the large ship took off. An expression of scrutiny came over the Drast's face and he looked back at the two men in front him, then back at the ship going into the air. Then back at them, then back to the ship. It dawned on him that was the vessel probably carrying the other pirates and most likely their ships. son of a dathomirian witch. He cursed in his own head.

Raising the blaster a little bit higher he brandished the weapon in an intimidating manner. "The man asked you a question." With a slight eep from both of them they began talking at the same time. "we don't know much we're just simple guys try to-" Brent quickly held up a hand to stop them. He turned his flattened palm into a pointing figure. "You.....go."

Taking a gulp the man nodded while the other remained silent. "There's a chop shop on Nanth'ri. That's where the ship is probably headed." Brent sighed and did not look impressed. "Where?"

"We can take you." He offered. Making the smart decision rather than just telling the two of them. While Brent would not shoot a surrendered man like this there were probably ruthless people out there that would kill them once they had given the desired information. Looking over at Crix he wanted to know what he thought or if he wanted to try and pull any other information from them instead of agreeing to it for the both of them.

Seeing if Brent can get some answers from them.

Crix and Fury got a little information out of the two surrendered pirates, but it didn't look like they'd get anymore without taking the pair with them. The last thing the Knight wanted was to harbor a couple of pirates, but he couldn't think of a way around it. Crix attempted to finagle a little more info out, but the talker was convinced their lives depended upon the information they had.

The pirate that had refused to divulge any information had been staring daggers into the other man, and Crix wondered if the loose-lipped marauder knew his betrayal was just as dangerous. He tapped the grip of his damaged Renegade blaster as he considered their options. They could force the pirates into giving them what they wanted to know, or they could risk it and bring the pair with them and hope they upheld their end of the bargain. As he contemplated his options his eyes landed on the contrails left behind by the heavy freighter.

An idea sprouted in his mind and smirked. "Meh, you're free to go." He waved his hand dismissively, then reached out with the force and plucked the weapons off the ground removing them from the pirates reach. Stunned silence had settled over the group as Crix began walking away.

"Uh, a-a-are you sure?" Asked the talker only to be cuffed on the side of his head by the other pirate who scrambled to his feet and started hauling ass in the opposite direction. The talker rubbed at his head as he followed his partners lead following quick behind, not looking back.

Once they were out of earshot Crix said, "We're going to follow them."

Crix slipped a cheap cigara from a ratty pack in his jacket pocket, lighting it up and offering the pack to Fury. This part of the job was done, now they just needed to find the pirates chopshop on Nanth'ri, and they'd use the two he'd cut loose to do so. It wasn't ideal, but it could have been way worse.

To be continued...

Crix wasn't able to get the location of the pirates base. Results
