Ziost/Pureblood village

The Logos touched down close to the village once more. Mid had suited up in his winter armour again with his effects on his belt. In his hands was the bloody sword and severed head of the chief from the other village. He was dead quiet, not uttering a word to Kalanda. He led the way to the ramp like last time and stopped by the ramp like last time. "Patience, child." he said finally to Kalanda, then turned to disembark. But there was more to his words. He was onto something.

Outside things were different. As if more tense. All the villagers stood around, watching them with glowing golden eyes. Mid eyed the villagers for anything out of place. He took note that they had weapons handy, more like they were ready to attack than going out hunting. He closed his eyes as he walked, switching to force sight to keep an eye on everything around them. A few minutes later they were in the chief's tent again. "Do you have what I asked?" he asked curtly, eyeing them. When Mid presented the items, the chief smiled that sickening smile of his.

Mid unceremoniously dropped the things by the chief's feet and stared at him with burning golden eyes. "We completed your task. Now for your end of the bargain." he said coldly. The chief chuckled again and took the blade in his hands. "And why should I?" he asked with a voice just as icy as Mid's.

As the Logos settled down to a stop, Kalanda for once didn't feel the cold nipping at her bones, nor were her thoughts of finding shelter or getting better clothes. No, she wanted to kill the Sith who had ordered them to that village. That was what she desperately wanted to do. Mid stopped her however, but rather than berate her, he offered simple advice this time. 'Patience'? He wanted her to wait? Had he not pushed a sense of fear within her, she might have ignored the command. But she didn't want to trifle with Mid, so she shimmered down on her anger, letting it bubble and cool beneath the surface of her less than pleased expression. "As you command, my lord." She spoke, her voice carrying a sense of frustration to it.

She could only assume Mid had some degree of a plan. Just as before, the villagers here seemed ready for something. Many of them had weapons on hand or near by, she could sense others hiding away in tents, groups of them armed and waiting. Was this double cross? Did this Sith they had agreed to help have no limit to his indecency? But, as Mid ordered, Kalanda kept her anger in checking, hoping she would have a chance to let it out, to extract revenge...but she could only hope such things were to come.

Entering the tent of the chieftain, he seemed largely unimpressed by what the two had done. His following words only brought the point home, he had no intention of honoring their agreement. He was using them, outsiders, for his busy work, and now he was wanting to dispose of them; or at the very least, shoo them away. Kalanda's nostrils flared, but she did not act. Mid hadn't walked in here without a plan. He was far too calm in his demeanor to not have foreseen this.

Mid eyed the chief for a good few seconds. "Because I said so." Mid said flatly. The chief raised an eyebrow at Mid's order. "You are forgetting your place, boy." the chief said sternly, clearly getting angry. "No, not really." Mid said with a smug grin. He was already drawing the force through him, itching to lunge. "Get off this planet. While you still can." the chief ordered softly with an icy tone. Tension was thick in the tent.

"First we will take what we came for." Mid ordered plainly. He was done playing games. The chief eyed the two for a few seconds then nodded to one of his men. The warrior started to draw a blade, but before it could leave its sheathe Mid impaled him with his lightsaber. Immediately he swung and lobbed off the legs of the chieftain and cleaved through another warrior's chest. He left the last two warriors to Kalanda who he knew was itching for this moment.

Anarchy ensued. Mid left the screaming chief in the tent and moved on to the rest of the village. "Kalanda, kill those who fight back, leave the rest...and leave the chief for now." he ordered. He needed the chief alive. And seeing as his legs were gone he had nowhere to go. The warriors charged without coordination, while Mid drew his second lightsaber. These warriors would put up more of a fight, but not by much. The two Sith were a lot better trained than these backwards savages.

Kalanda had been waiting for this moment since they had left the village, and now she was given an opening. Her lightsaber was drawn, as she turned to strike down the two purebloods. She tapped into the simmering rage she had held onto, as her body moved in an unnatural frenzy. The first pureblood wasn't fast enough, as she cut through his arm, before severing his head. His companion managed to put up an actual fight, but Kalanda simply used the force to push against the man, knocking him off balance as she took advantage and struck him down.

Leaving Mid with the remaining guards, she outside the mouth of the tent, as she was greeted by another pair of warriors. This tile she did not so easily best them, as these warriors were ready to contend with her. The rage that burned through her at least gave her a chance to best them, but the two warriors seemed to be intent on stonewalling her and trying to eliminate her by waiting her out.

Mid made short work of the ones in front of him, though as he readied to attack another warrior he spotted two attackers giving Kalanda trouble. Not wanting to play around, he drew a pistol and planted a bolt in the head of one of the warriors. One tried to pull a fast one on him but Mid quickly fired off two bolts into his gut before cleaving through his chest.

It was carnage. They put up as big a fight as they could, but they were overwhelmed. Soon enough the warriors willing to fight were all killed. Several women and children hid, though a few did foolishly try to attack. When the attack was over, Mid stared down the survivors who registered a myriad of emotions. Some were angry, some were terrified, some were horrified by what just happened. Though the fear was certainly the most dominant one of them all. Done with the slaughtering spree Mid turned to Kalanda and called her over. "Now with that out of the way, let's get what we came for." he said coldly as he holstered his weapons.

Inside the chief was still trying to recover, but with only one exit he had nowhere to go. And with his age he had lost much of his strength to crawl away. When Mid saw him on the floor, he grabbed him, rolled him over and slammed his Sith knife into what remained of the Pureblood's left leg. "Now, let's try this again." Mid said with a sadistic smile as he removed his helmet.

Kalanda grew frustrated, as her opponents had far more martial experience than herself, but before she could try and get an advantage, Mid struck them down with brutal efficiency. She quickly joined in with Mid, carving their way through any who tried to stop them, sparing only the women and children, and the occasional man who had common sense. When it was done, Kalanda had felt as if she had rid herself of the blood lust. She turned to Mid as she was called over, it was time to get what they had come for. "Yes, my lord." She spoke, a cruel grin across her features, her monotone voice dripping with enthusiasm.

She watched the chieftain scrapping along the floor like the insect he was, and did not feel an ounce of sympathy for him. Kalanda laughed as he was drug along the floor, having a knife jabbed into his leg. It was justice, this was vengeance. Kalanda reached out with her hand, gripping the knife and slowly pushed it inward, being rewarded with the man's frenzied screams. Mid would see the acolyte had a rather sadistic grin, but she soon stopped before the man was passed out from the pain. "He's all yours, my lord." She muttered, gripping her lightsaber in both hands, watching with glee at was to come.

Mid raised an eyebrow as Kalanda joined him and put some extra pressure on the blade in the chief's leg. Naturally it was inflicting a lot more pain on the broken Pureblood, and he felt the pleasure Kalande was getting from seeing him suffer. He couldn't deny that he enjoyed it as well...

She retreated to stand guard, leaving Mid and the chief all alone. "Now...our bargain." Mid started. The chief weakly eyed him, still trying to defy the Crusader. "You...you will get nothing from me." he muttered with heave breaths. "Listen here. There's a few other villages on Ziost where I can learn Alchemy. You're not that special. So instead of thinking you are, work with us and maybe we shall let you live." Mid explained flatly, almost with a bored tone. Although that last part was a complete lie. He had no desire to let this dishonourable coward live. He had something special planned for him.

Though the chief didn't know that. Instead he sat for a few long moments, weighing his options. Finally he relented. "Alright! I have what you're looking for!" he cried out, partly because Mid was slowly turning the knife in his leg. "You don't say!" Mid fired back sarcastically. "We know. We just want you to give it up already." he continued with annoyance. The chief dug around in the knapsack around his shoulder. Mid eyed him carefully in case he drew a weapon. Finally the chief pulled out a strange book. It was seemingly bound in skin and bone, with the power of the dark side dripping from its pages like smoke. Smiling, Mid took the book and reclaimed his knife.

"Thank you." Mid said simply and stood up. He looked the book over then looked to Kalanda. "Kalanda...do as you wish with him." he said with a kind smile then exited the tent, leaving Kalanda to exact her revenge on the Pureblood.

Kalanda did indeed keep watch as she was expected to do, but the young woman kept her senses on the room behind her, craving the pain that was coming off the dishonorable chieftain. She desperately wanted to end his life, but knew that Mid needed his information first. Until then, she would do as he said, being patient. She ponder on how to kill him. Crushing his body under his own throne? Perhaps setting him alight and watching him struggle? Then she decided on something else, no she would kill him with the sword they took from the other village. There would be some degree of vengeance gained for that.

She could feel the air shift behind her, and glancing back she saw Mid grasping a book of some sort. At first he was occupied with the book, but he soon turned his gaze upon her, telling her to do as she pleased with the man. She grinned wickedly, her hand extended out as she drew the sword they has claimed from the dead village, then used her remaining hand to toss the legless body of the chieftain into his throne, sending him backwards. Kalanda leaped towards him, landing above him, sword poised to strike. "Do you remember what our code is?" She asked, driving the sword into the man's chest, not deep enough to kill him, just enough to make it hurt, to drew blood. The chieftain grasped at the blade, trying to halt it, failing miserably. "Peace is a lie, there is only passion." She muttered, pushing the blade a few centimeters deeper, the blade began to spill her targets blood. "Through passion, I gain strength.Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory." She pushed the sword in deeper, and deeper, drinking in the dying gasps of the pureblood, savoring the kill, then she withdrew the blade. She looked over the barely living man, gasping, trying to beg for his life. But there was no mercy, never for people like him. "Through victory, my chains are broken" She muttered, raising the sword high, watching with glee as the old Sith came to realize his fate was sealed. "The Force shall free me!" She proclaimed, driving the blade into his chest, stabbing through the heart and into the ground, as blood began to gush from the fatal wound. The chieftain struggled for a second gurgled up blood, then fell still. She stepped away from the lifeless corpse, her hand tight around the newly acquired and bloodied blade. She couldn't bring back the lives she had taken, the ones that were wasted, but she could avenge them. For all that was worth. She turned towards Mid, feeling like a new woman. She felt as if her purpose had been realized, that perhaps she had found her place within the dark side. "I....would like to keep the blade, my lord." She asked meekly, nodding to the weapon in question. She didn't want to forget what was done here, what she had done here. It would prove to give her strength in the time to come, something for her to draw upon in times of doubt.

Mid stood outside, listening to everything going on as he paged through the book. It looked like a good read at least so hopefully studying won't be boring. He nodded along as Kalanda recited the Sith tenets as if it were a melody. Perhaps the fact that he had been preaching it for over 40 years probably had something to do with it.

When she finally emerged from the tent with the blade in hand, he eyed her for a few seconds. Her request made him smile. Not just because of her request, but her whole aura. She felt like a different person. "Feel free. I have no need for it. I have what I came for." he said casually with a shrug. "Now, what say you we get out of here before we end up in an even bigger mess?" he asked her with a smile and nodded towards the ship. He proceeded to lead the way back with the book in his hands, with him still reading through it. "No need for more bloodshed today." he added softly, walking up the ramp.

Inside the ship he stashed the book away and traded his armour in for some more comfortable Sith robes. He decided to look in on Kalanda. "How are you feeling?" he asked her calmly.

She felt rather happy to be allowed to keep the blade, as she held onto it just a tad tighter, the still warm blood on its end dripped down into the snow, leaving a small trail away from the hut as the pair left the village behind. She agreed with Mid, she had her fair share of bloodshed for today. "I would like that, my lord." She commented, feeling a great deal better than when they had first come to the village.

As they boarded the ship, she was ready to toss aside the several layers of clothes and be free of them, which she swiftly did once alone. She took the blade aside, washing the blood off of it and drying it, before respectfully putting it away. She was still bothered by the images she had seen earlier, but this made it more bearable. The sword would represent not her victory over the dead clan, but rather the vengeance on those that wronged them. She hadn't expected Mid to check in on her, as the door behind her opened, revealing herself in rather exposed clothing. She nodded to him, wondering what he would need, but as he asked how she was, she offered a smile before speaking. "I feel much better that I did today." She said, paused, then continued. "I wanted to thank you for letting me kill that Sith. It...felt good. I know it doesn't make up for what was done, but...it felt right making him suffer like that." She finished, looking to Mid, wondering if her words would stir anger or approval from him. It was simply how she felt, was that so wrong?

Though her attire was rather skimpy, Mid didn't even stare. In fact he practically didn't even care about it. She admitted that she felt much better then continued to thank him for what he did. Her description of what she felt brought a smile to his face. "The Jedi teach their younglings that vengeance is wrong and dangerous." Mid started, looking to the ground for a second.

He looked back to her. "Luckily we are not Jedi." he stated simply. "And when we feel that there was no fair recompense then...well...vengeance is very much within our power." he continued, giving a shrug as he leaned against the doorframe. "Rest up, child. Savour that feeling, that passion. It will give you power and focus when you need it." he explained to her, then turned to exit. "Good evening, miss Tishire." he greeted then left, closing the door to leave her in peace once more.

The Logos was in the air and soon enough found its way out of the atmosphere. And in the blink of an eye it was gone once more, zipping through hyperspace to meet up with the fleet once again. Their mission was accomplished.
