DESCRIPTION​

Developed during the Rise of the Empire era, the DH-47 carbine was one of two models offered to the Imperial ARmy, alongside the E-11, when the E-10 proved an unreliable design under stress. While not selected over the E-11's lower bulk costs, the DH-47 eventually became widely used among planetary militias, private military corporations, and rebellious groups.

A compact, ergonomic, and utilitarian carbine, the DH-47's most important features are it's durability and reliability. The weapon can be submersed in mud or other grime and continue firing without issue. Significant carbon buildup minimally risks accuracy and they've been known to go without maintenance for months at a time without locking up. Even the power pack slot has anti-contaminant sealing and a firm grip.

It can mount a microscope with a dedicated plug and a detachable stock, either solid or folding. Firing with admirable, if not perfect, accuracy out to 135 meters using a 75-shot power pack, the DH-47 is designed for use in any environment by military and security forces. Although it's mildly more expensive than a bulk order of E-11s, they were inexpensive for anything smaller than galactic militaries many find the increased range and reliability- lowering maintenance costs- well worth it.

Production continues in the present day and DH-47s can still be seen in the hands of many military and mercenary groups around the galaxy.

LEGALITY​

Legal. Ownership of blaster carbines is not restricted in most of the Galaxy, however openly carrying such a weapon in public might be on more "civilized" worlds. On less civilized worlds, it still might draw unwanted scrutiny.
