DESCRIPTION
Far more common than their larger relative the Halberd rifle, the Dirk pistol is a far more easy to conceal slug thrower weapon. As such it is transported across the galaxy in more common areas than a long arm weapon. However they primarily remain only in popularity in remote and outer rim worlds. Some Bounty Hunters may use them from time to time but that still are rarer cases and exceptions to the rule.
Made of mostly stamped durasteel they sometimes have cusomized engravings made from pearl, ivory or other rare alloys. However the common working man or civilian is unlikely enough to have a blaster other than for hunting purposes but these are commonly illegal even for backwater worlds seconded only to the Halberd rifle.
Straight forward in design they are inelegant and reliable. Able to be used in grueling trench warfare where clean weapons are rare. While modern day bounty hunters might affix a laser sight or a flashlight to the weapon or even go so far as to put a holographic sight on one of these they do not come with any such attachments and each modified version is certainly a custom job. The recoil of these pistols is not quite the same level as a medium blaster pistol though it commented on as being more than the average light blaster pistol resulting in users to focus more on placing shots to gain the same level as accuracy.
LEGALITY
Illegal practically everywhere. Slugthrower weapons are usually considered crude and cruel. Only backwater planets that usually lack any type of law enforcement tend to use them and even then only military forces use them. Not legal for civilian unless with extensive permission.INTENT
To provide a sidearm slug thrower weapon for backwater planets that are locked in a different state of technological progression. Also most things are "available" and smugglers need more weapons to move around illegally.ADVANCED TECH
