SKILLS: Dmivo is an ‘expert scavenger’, thanks to a web of Squib informants telling him where large dumps will be occurring and good equipment for the job. He is somewhat skilled as a mechanic, a bit reckless and unorthodox but he has a good knowledge of droids, ships, weapons, and so on. He is an amateur pilot who works with freighters and tractor beams to collect waste, but his piloting skills are next to useless in almost any combat situation. He is also an abstract artist in his free time.
Thanks to a Squibbish racial ability, Dmi’s fur is also highly sensitive in multiple ways. The fur can pick up scents from afar, and by rubbing things against his fur Dmivo can sample taste or identify materials. He can even approximate how old an object or person is through contact with his fur.
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES: Dmivo’s chief strength is his endless spirit and energy. Even when a situation looks completely hopeless, the Squib is motivated and confident, and eager to take action. However in this lies an inherent weakness - a tendency to take such action before thinking about it, often leading to blunders. He is an able pilot, though his recklessness can be a handicap on that as well. As mentioned before he has some skill in the areas of mechanics, piloting and abstract art, and he is also a very agile young fellow. However he has very little muscular strength or body mass, which obviously can be a weakness in some situations. Also, oddly for a Squib, he has very little talent as a salesman or haggler, though he certainly tries his very best.
GEAR: He wears a plain brown jumpsuit with the CWD logo on the back. He also wears knee-high boots made from an unknown lightweight metal, green in colour, designed to protect him from dangers found when looking through garbage (potentially aggressive creatures, toxic substances, et cetera). Covering his hands are leather gloves, green like his boots. He also wears a sort of ‘hooded poncho‘, which is red and has holes in the hood for his long upright-standing ears to poke out through.
Tensor Gun
In a holster belt around his waist he keeps his trusty tensor gun. This Squibbish device uses bursts of compressed tractor beams to destroy things at the cellular level. While Dmivo mainly uses it for destroying heavy pieces of garbage that block his way while he’s scavenging in waste heaps, he can also use it as a weapon. The tensor gun’s invisible but very loud bursts of tractor energy are impossible to reflect with any kind of energy shield, however they do their damage quite slowly, having to destroy the cells of any layers of physical protection or clothing before beginning to disrupt the organic cells beneath. Those whose outfits expose a lot of flesh, or who need an environment suit to survive, should beware this gun‘s power. But if you wear four thick sweaters and a winter coat the tensor gun is next to useless against you. The tensor gun’s battery can also overheat easily with prolonged trigger-pumping, and the gun needs to be recharged regularly. Because of the battery issues, the extremely loud yet completely invisible nature of the tractor bursts, and the device’s exotic nature and high-tech appearance, the tensor gun is better used for intimidation then for actual combat.
SHIP: He drives a CWD freighter craft (Unit #768), fitted with a tractor beam that can pull floating items from space into the ship’s cargo bay, as well as a robotic claw controlled from the inside, designed for grabbing hard-to-reach items. Dmivo nicknamed the ship Pack Rat, and he has modified it a bit since receiving it from his employers. He added an illegally tweaked hyperdrive to the engine, added worker droids that organize the garbage in the cargo bay (to help him salvage the ‘valuable‘ items from the other junk), and also repainted the interior of the ship with fluorescent, almost blindingly bright colours.
PERSONALITY/BACKGROUND: Dmivo is a carefree, naïve young Squib with a childlike eagerness to learn and experience the Galaxy. Like most of his species, he is a cheap pack rat and tinker who takes as much use as possible out of the most insignificant objects. However, unlike most of his species Dmivo has a strong independent streak. Against his family’s wishes, he left his home planet and the Squib Merchandising Consortium (a species-wide Squib work institution) in search of better opportunities. This is what brought him to the Cosmos Waste Disposal company, where he sought work, not knowing that this was more then just a garbage hauling service…
