Jaina shook her head as she looked to the bar, letting her mind calm down as she idly listened. She pondered the words for a good few moments, especially when he was surprised at her 'rebellious' nature. What? Was she supposed to be all goody-goody to people as if she wasn't a free person? Maybe she was just overthinking the whole thing. Either way, she was tired of being upset over some innocent words.

"No, I didn't come from some uprising. Got out of the ordeal myself. Funny thing was how pampered of a life it tended to be. Peaceful at least.. Nothing more than a stupid servant though." She began next, shifting to rest a cheek in a propped up hand. "I didn't quite plan it out though."

Jaina shrugged it off as she cast a glance towards Ves. The discussion was a bit real, maybe too real, and quite distasteful in her mind. Plus he mentioned he had an old friend?

"Your friend sounds like they were an interesting person to have around, but daggers don't go in your eyes. They belong in your hands, obviously. Can't make up to your threats if you've blinded yourself."

She knew perfectly what he meant, but figured things could be brightened up. Some very light humor? Something like that. At least she smiled right?

Ves shrugged as the woman seemed to calm down a bit.

"It happens to all of us."

He hesitated at the friend part. He'd known her for a while, but would she appreciate giving out so much? Would she care? Know? Was she even still alive? Hell if he knew...but by the stars, he hoped she was still out there somehow. She deserved better, after being through the wringer. He smirked at her attempt at humor.

"Zeltron lady, called Herrith. Can't say she had the collar, but she could stare you down any day if you pissed her off. Haven't seen her in a while. Used to be a slave, branded all up her biceps. Doesn't talk about them much. Hell of a drinker, and she'd die for her friends. Me and a few others been wondering where she's gone."

He looked down, thinking about just how bad things could be for her right now? What if she was in trouble? No..no, she could handle herself fine.

Ah. Friends you probably never see again. Certainly a painful thing to think about.

"Sounds like she was a good enough person to have around. Acceptable enough in my opinion given your take on her. Apologies if I've brought up a sore topic; best of hopes for them I suppose."

Of course she couldn't say much more-- she didn't know his friend. Maybe she could've said something better, but it was rather late to do it now. The message was clear enough she hoped.

"Anyway, before we dwell any further on the dark past-- I suppose you don't have much in the way of help to offer? That is, perhaps, a place to stay or a ticket off this rock?"

Big questions, and certainly a terrible way of going about it. What did she have to lose though? A rather disheartening discussion? Oh, well... She could lose her only actual conversation. Eh, worth a try she supposed. What else was she supposed to do, apply for a job at the place? Haha, that'd be funny.

Ves shrugged. She was alright--mainly came here to get drunk and forget her problems so she could do it again the next day. She had good humor..mostly. The subject changed rather fast while the Pantoran attempted to ask for some help. He couldn't exactly do anything to say no, she had a tough past and was basically here to drown her sorrows in drink that she could miraculously pay for.

"Might have some money to spare, or an apartment if you'd like to sleep on a floor. Though I'd not recommend sitting around this planet for too long. Takes a particular person."
