2-3 To join. Only one non-Imperial/Sith to the thread. Said person will have npc powers.
Planet: Tangrene
Objectives: Locate dark-side force nexus, discovered / sensed by Sith command. Retrieve data-charters from within the site.
Details: Exact location unknown, only triangulated through sub-orbital surveying. Narrowed down to 10 square kilos. Believed to be underground local town. Resistance likely by local militia forces or inhabitants.
Bonus Objective: Defeat or turn locals to support the Sith Empire. Begin Sith insurgency within this side of the planets' outpost. Level local milita cache. Uncover Sith Lord Tomb.

This is the OOC / Write-up of this thread. I will begin my first post before searching for others that would like to join me.

A transport ship could be seen descending from orbit inside of the village-town on Tangrene. Two jetstreams followed the transport as it made its way from entry into orbit to a landing off deep in the distance. From inside, anti-air batteries and the village-town roadways could be made out fairly clearly. Not a round was fired however, which was good. Hopefully locals would be... welcoming of imperial visitors.

As the transport ship hovered over a medium sized clearing, Macc jumped the small gap to set boots on the ground. His armor was well shined and rifle certainly lusting for blood. Once his ally, a Sith designated to undertake this mission with him, was also off-boarded he proceeded to salute the pilot before speaking a clean "Safe flight." into his helmet's communications.

Two imperials planetside would certainly be enough to stir up the wonder and bewilderment amongst the locals. Preferably if fear were to come in to play, then it would take the shape of intimidation rather than hostility.

Macc proceeded to bring up a holographic display of the ten square kilometers around the town. "Command said that this place you Sith have sensed is most likely beneath the town. I assume that we rather make acquaintance with locals for the time being. At least until they decide they don't appreciate us dismantling their infrastructure that is.", he said coolly to his superior.

Valik sat in the cockpit of The Sanguine as it descended upon Tangrene. All around he could see mountains and canyons as he located a clearing large enough for his cruiser to land safely. As he looked at the radar on the control console of his ship, he could see another vessel had already landed, probably the one he was sent here to accompany. The repulsor lifts kicked on as the landing gear protruded from underneath as he slowly descended towards the planets surface. Finally touching down softly, the Sith looked at his droid.

"Stay with the ship."

The droid beeped in confirmation as Valik flipped a few switches and the landing ramp lowered allowing him to exit the vessel. Valik stood, adorning his night black cloak and his two twin sabers clipped onto either side of his belt. He walked down the ramp and started towards the other ship. After a few minutes of walking, Valik came upon a few officers loyal to the Empire. He nodded his head towards the guards as they saluted him.

Macc nodded at his sith companion.
"It was understood that resistance was likely, but if we can I would highly suggest we give the local militia the option to surrender their base over. I don't think they care about the target area as much as they just don't want to have us govern.", he said.

Macc was briefed on every detail of this mission, as was everybody else here. A fight was imminent, but it was understood that if they took the town quickly- that diplomacy may in fact be their enemies only option.

"We have our orders, men."... He started saying while pointing out to areas on the holographic display he still had up.
"The entrance of the town is here, and the target site is believed to be accessible somehow through this network of underground chambers- on the northwest end. If we blitz the east side entrance, then we can certainly set up fire teams to advance. Until then, small hills and rocks can be used as cover."

Looking up, he waited for his sith's approval to move out.

Valik watched the display as he heard the plan of action that Macc laid out. The Sith had never been to this planet before but there was something underneath that tugged at him, something that he could sense within the Darkside of the Force. Whatever it was, he needed to find out. He looked at Macc and then at the two imperial's that he had brought with him.

"I dont know if what you have brought with you is enough. I agree that they will not likely invite us in with open arms, but if it is a fight you are after, then you need to be more prepared than this. Do you have life readings on your ship? If so we need to see how many beings are in the town and assume that everyone is willing and able to fight. That will help us better prepare for this endeavor."

Macc nodded at Valik. "Be assured, brother. This planet's militia is nothing to the likes of a few well trained operators. There is no doubt that we are outnumbered, but to assume that this will be anything less than a slaughter is excessive worry.", he said. "...and if things begin to turn- we do have a friendly standby in orbit."

The battles and ravages of war that Macc had already witnessed gave him the confidence to back up his words. However, even he wasn't as naive to think he couldn't be being cocky. He knew his weaknesses and worked to cover them. A strike from the air is terrifying, no matter who you are or who you ask. So was Macc's innate talent at coordinating air support his safeguard.

He hoisted his loadout from the ground and slung it across his back while turning towards their march.
"We've got a few kilos to go. Eyes open, stay sharp.", he commanded coolie to his subordinates. "Don't forget. Our objective is to seize control of that tomb, boys."

Valik nodded his head to the commander of this small crew. He turned on his heels and started to walk behind the troopers, walking in pace with the commander. He was right that they had somewhat of a trek in front of them, but if all went as planned it would be worth it. The Zabrak kept his hood up over his head as he walked, blocking out the sun. He looked around as they made their way across the hard jagged plain. The sound of grinding rocks could be heard under the boot heels as the small battalion of soldiers marched.

He looked towards Macc, "When we reach our destination, I will circle around and flank the opposing soldiers."

"Roger that.", Macc said.
Macc could tell by his comrade's voice that he was in good hands. Jedi... Sith... None of that mattered to Macc, as he'd fought side by side with both. What did matter though, was that those who could use the force, and fight with a lightsaber were by far some of his favorite people to work with. He didn't see them as some special beings, or any of the various adaptations of splendor. He saw them as an equal. Out on the battlefield, everybody is mortal. Some work harder than others and some have more handicaps or advantages, but at the end of the day a victor is a victor. Macc had seen Sith slaughter entire platoons, as well he had seen force-types taken out by a stray blaster bolt. To him, they were just another type of specialist like he was. So when he listened to his comrade, he could tell that he was in good hands because of his voice... Not his status.

At about three kilos out from the target site, the town wall could be seen poking through the canopy of the rocky forest that they were marching through.
Tactical marching was tiresome, but very necessary, for within the last few kilometers the team had already halted a handful of times to evade and disable perimeter precautions. Alarms mainly, as mines and other explosives wouldn't be armed under normal circumstances because of the locals.

Halting for the last time, Macc pulled out his holographic map once more to discuss strategy.

"Valik, sir.", he said coolie.
"About half of a kilometer out is a forked path which with you could use to our advantage. If you take it, then your flank on the town's primary line could mitigate most resistance.", Macc continued while demonstrating on the map each detail.

"You can choose whichever path you desire, sir. I understand force-sensitivity and the ability to 'feel' out your actions before you take them. But we will begin the full frontal assault from about that half kilometer mark. It's a little close for my tastes, but the treeline ends there and I'm not going to have our boys shooting like a bunch of geurilla Mandalorians from the shadows."

The concurrence took about five minutes before he led the troops on a far more brisk march forward to close the distance on the edge of the treeline.
"Come on, boys! We're wasting daylight!"

Valik nodded to Macc as he watched the holo projection of the map and their objectives. Valik was never one for conversation, he simply nodded and tuned to continue walking. The garrison marched for another fifteen minutes before they reached the fork that Macc had spoke of. As the Sith veered off the path the others were taking, he reached down and once again could feel the cold steel of his twin sabers as he grasped the two. He removed the twin hilts from the clips on his belt as he began a light jog, being sure to stay low and within the shadows of the trees so that he would remain out of sight.

Valik made his way up to the village quietly, remaining outside of the perimeter as he was on the lookout for local patrons that could prove to be troublesome. He could see the townsfolk gathering in the main courtyard of the village. He could not make out what they were saying but could see them pointing towards the garrison that marched upon their steps. Valik grabbed his comm and spoke into it which sent the transmission to the leader of the imperial raid party.

"This is Valik. I am in position."
