"Ee chee wa maa!" Goompa grumbled to himself, gently rubbing the top of his head where a knot had begun to form. Slowly, the Ewok shuffled into a seated position. The metal floor was cold and hard against his furry bottom, and he wished he had a comfy cushion to sit upon.

The Ewok sat in the darkness, crossing his hands in his lap and sniffing the air as he thought back to the night before. All he could remember was wandering down an alleyway, then nothing... Nothing but darkness.

"Ne gata meechoo?" he wondered aloud, scratching his head in thought. The Ewok turned his head one way and then the next, but it was too dark to see his surroundings.

"Siz," he decided, chuckling at his own brilliance. Rising to his feet, the Ewok searched through his pouch and pulled two stones out. "Goot." These stones were his companions, carried from his home planet Endor to be used in his quest to find The Golden One. Now he would use them to light the darkness.

Rubbing the two stones together with a serious grunt, the Ewok attempted to strike a spark.

Rubbing his eyes with his hands, Cayde had just woke up from an enforced slumber. Everything was black and Cayde couldn't even see his own nose in the darkness. He reached for his lightsaber, but wasn't there to Cayde's dismay as was his blaster pistol. The only thing he had left was the Force, so Cayde closed his eyes and began to feel the Force- it would be his guide through this confusion. He felt the presence of another...someone small- maybe a child, it wasn't too far away from him.

Cayde stood up and began walking, continuing to use the Force to guide him through the dark to this other small creature. Then, Cayde opened his eyes and saw sparks beginning to fly from the source that was not a child at all. "An Ewok!" Cayde exclaimed and tried getting the fuzzy creature's attention. Eventually, it lit the fire and Cayde sat across from the Ewok and sighed as he remembered that he couldn't speak the fella's language.

"I'm sorry, my friend- I hope you understand basic." Cayde sighed and rubbed his head. He couldn't quite remember what had happened to him. Wasn't he relaxing outside his ship on Onderon? Something must have hit him in the head- hard -because it wouldn't stop throbbing to the rhythm of his pulse. "Do you know where we are?" Cayde muttered as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Kvark!" Goompa cried out, startled by the sudden noise behind him. The Ewok jumped two or three inches into the air, raising a stone to the level of his eye. "Meecho dangar," he warned with a low growl.

The stranger was tall, much taller than Goompa. But size did not matter. Goompa was a warrior, one of the greatest of his tribe, and he stood prepared to defend himself. The stranger did not attack him though, instead seating himself across from Goompa.

The man spoke gibberish, a language Goompa did not know as he rubbed his large head. He had been hit on the back of the head, just like Goompa. Goompa realized that this man was friend, not foe, and lowered his rock. "Weechu seefo. Meecho chyasee."

Goompa waddled around the small fire he had conjured from stone and straw. Reaching a furry hand up, the Ewok offered the man a friendly and gentle pat on the head.

"Ne gata ees?"he asked the stranger, hoping he would know. The Ewok spread his arms out wide for emphasis as he recounted his story in great detail. Why he had left his home Endor and how he had ended up here, in the darkness.

"Sheeu Goompa," he finished, pointing to himself with his opposable thumb. "Kush weechu?"

The room began to shake, throwing the Ewok off balance as two large metal doors started to slide open. Goompa raised a hand to protect his one good eye as the light of day poured into the room.

"Ee chee wa maa!" Goompa exclaimed.

Shouting and cheers filled the Ewok's ear nubs, and the beat of drums reverberated off the walls. Each sound was a thousand times louder than the festivals and celebrations of his people on Endor.

"Kush drojh?" the little Ewok thought to himself, bewildered.

Cayde sighed again- the fact that these two couldn't understand one another would be a problem. There had to be a for- But of course! The Force! Cayde facepalmed and as he did, the Ewok patted Cayde on the back. Cayde looked back at the his furry new friend and smiled. "Thank you."

The Ewok spoke again, in his native gibberish, but the man noticed that the Ewok gestured to the dark place they were in with confusion. "I do not know where we have been kept." Cayde said with a shrug and a slow head shake, left and right. Oh how he wished his lightsaber was here! It had been with him ever since he was but a Jedi Padawan.

He remembered how everyone thought how cool his lightsaber was- a brilliant neon purple. Everyone else in his group had either green or blue while maybe two others had orange lightsabers- but Cayde's was one of the only of it's kind. The curved hilt helped greatly with Cayde's fluid defensive fencing style as well, and the crystal within had another great story behind it- but was for another time.

The walls seemed to hum as great doors slowly opened, revealing a blinding light that Cayde had to put his hands in frnt of his face to shield his eyes from. That's when Cayde made one very important notion clear.

We are indeed prisoners. Cayde looked to his new friend who was more prepared to fight off their captors than the EX-Jedi seemingly was. This only brought a smile to Cayde's face as he, too, stood up straight to face whatever was thrown in his path. Though he didn't have his lightsaber, he had the Force.

"I am one with the Force," Cayde said to himself, shutting his eyes to remember his memories and lessons on Dagobah.

"And the Force is with me."

Girding himself, Goompa waddled forward into the light of day. The tall man's presence afforded him comfort and the strength necessary to face the unknown. Whatever laid ahead, the two of them would face it together.

As the Ewok's one brown eye adjusted to the light, he saw his surroundings clearly for the first time. He and his companion stood in the center of a pit. An arena hewn into the crag of a mountain. Viewing boxes encircled the arena, each box packed full of humans and aliens of every species. Large, intimidating men stood on the stone walkway above the bit, blaster rifles in their hands. Guards. Slavers.

These spectators stared down at the duo, sneering and laughing at what they saw. Goompa could not understand what they were saying, but he got the distinct realization that they were laughing at him, not with him.

"An Ewok?" one of them hollered, doubling over with laughter. "And one man?"

"Shriker will make short work of them,"
another could be heard saying. Dressed in fine robes of purple and bored to tears, he examined his nails. "I'm not sure why I even bothered coming."

"Danvay," Goompa warned his companion, turning toward Cayde. The Ewok had a bad feeling about this.

Behind them, one of the slavers spoke up. "Let's at least make it sporting." He tossed down two weapons, Goompa's trusty wooden spear and a rusted sword. They did not see fit to return Cayde's lightsaber.

"Meechoo klektuhkuh!" Goompa cried out with glee, waddling over to retrieve his spear. "Goot, goot..." he comforted himself, affectionately brushing dirt from the spear. As a young Ewok, he had forged this spear with his own hands. Many times it had saved his life. Perhaps today it would save him again.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!" the crowd began to chant in unison, their fists beating the air. The sound of drums echoed off the walls of the arena.

~~THEME~~

A metal gate opposite of the unlikely pair began to rise, dirt and rust crumbling from its bars. The ground beneath their feet shook.

"Deksh..." Goompa drew closer to his tall companion.

Out of the darkness walked a monster, with long arms and massive feet. It stood well over sixteen feet tall, its armored hide scarred and burned from decades of abuse. Its skin and eyes were darker than the woods of Endor, and a chain bound around its right foot kept him from escaping.

"Eeep! Eyok-nee-chug?" Goompa trembled.

Cayde was no longer tired as a sudden burst of adrenaline surged through the Force user as their large and reptilian opposition roared and eyeballed it's new prey. Cayde picked up his rusted weapon and swung it around to see how it was balanced so he knew how much force to put into each swing- also accounting for the fact that the blade was dull. Whoever had his lightsaber would pay dearly for keeping it from him for this long, especially in a situation where he'd desperately need it.

"Alright...Goompa, was it? I know we can't understand each other too well right now-" The rancor roared and snapped it's jaw a couple times as if imagining it was chowing down on the human and the ewok as it stomped forward with it's claws outstretched. "But we need to work together! It may be big, but it's reflexes are much slower than our own- and you're of smaller size making you even more..." Cayde sighed, Goompa probably had no idea what he was blabbering about. Cayde focused on the creature's mind and outstretched his own through the Force to feel the creature's emotions to try and calm it. He slowed his breathing and cancelled out the noise from the roaring crowd and only focused on the rancor, feeling the rest of the world go mute as he ushered the beast to calm itself.

He felt pain on his right leg, the same pain shared from the rancor- Cayde had an idea but it was probably terrible but also, he didn't know if he had another choice besides giving himself over to the rancor. Cayde opened his amber eyes and smiled warmly at the Ewok. "It's a captive- slave. Like us." He gestured to the beast's chain around it's ankle. "We need to free him." Cayde readied himself in his Soresu defensive stance as he closed his eyes yet again to focus on the crowd this time, searching for his old curved companion. He needed his lightsaber for this stunt to work and he needed to know who had his regal blade so he knew who to pull into the arena with the duo.

There was an inescapable language barrier between the human and Ewok, but when Cayde pointed toward the large chain around the monster's oversized foot, Goompa believed he understood the tall human perfectly.

As terrifying and ugly as this beast was, it was just like Cayde and Goompa. A prisoner. Goompa was an Ewok with a good heart, and he would not turn his back on this poor, tortured beast. No matter how big and scary it was. The three of them were not so different, after all, and they all needed rescuing.

"Toma yesh. Ees chyasee," the Ewok agreed, nodding up at the tall man. "Meecho che jiks graks."

Confidence and conviction flashed across his stuffed teddy bear like features. With wooden spear firmly in his hands, Goompa waddled forward toward the rancor before Cayde could do anything to stop him.

"Thesi, thesi," he soothed the beast, just like his mother had comforted him as a baby Ewok. "Nude-La jeerota."

The rancor stepped forward, its massive feet shaking the entire arena. Goompa managed to keep his balance, shuffling forward further. The creature let out a massive roar, the stench of a hundred dead men on its breath.

Goompa shuddered. "Deksh..."

With one swipe of its massive, clawed hand, the rancor knocked the waddling Ewok clear across the arena.

"Ee chee WA MAAAAAAA!" Goompa could be heard screaming as he was sent flying.

Cayde's focus on finding his lightsaber through the Force was broken after he heard his furry companion scream as he was flung into the air by the angered rancor. Cayde made a quick change of plans and focused on the Ewok's little body and grabbed onto it with the Force, stopping his rapid trajectory and began to gently and slowly bring the creature back down to the ground. This was supposed to be a last resort in the EX-Jedi's grand plan, but he couldn't risk Goompa getting hurt. They needed to both make it out alive together and Cayde was going to see to that- even if he had to make it publicly known that he could use the Force like a trained Jedi.

As he was setting the Ewok down, Cayde forgot to acknowledge the lumbering threat of the rancor. It roared again and swung a hand at Cayde, swatting the man into the air this time. "OOOOH SHIIIIIT!", screamed Cayde as Goompa was no longer suspended by the Force and would fall a couple of feet straight to the ground as now Cayde was airborne. He did not have as easy a landing as Goompa did, landing awkwardly on his side and skipping across the sandy arena ground until he smacked against the side of the arena wall.

The warrior grit his teeth and slammed his fist on the sandy ground. His entire body ached and his left shoulder felt like it was on fire- no doubt it was probably broken. Holy kriffing... Cayde wished he had mastered the art of Force Enhancement for this specific occasion, something he'd have to practice after he got out of this damnable place with his new Ewok friend. He groggily sat up and breathed heavily as he tried getting to his feet. How was he supposed to get this rancor freed if it had no other interest in the two other than food?

That's it! Cayde scanned the audience for a leader of some sorts- someone of great importance that he could grab with the Force and pull into the arena to feed the angry rancor. Maybe the way to the beast's heart was to literally serve some cold-hearted revenge...

Goompa was hurled across the stadium at an astounding rate, as if he'd been shot from one of the large slingshots on his home planet of Endor. Something that he had tried several times in his youth, goofing off with his peers in the woods when they were supposed to be on patrol.

Still screaming, Goompa watched as he flew toward the side of the stadium. He would made impact any second now, slamming into the side of the wall and most likely falling to this death.

"Gyeesh kiney meecho, Bont Chu, x'ekra meecho or nim-nee weewa,"the Ewok breathed quietly, closing his eyes and preparing for his final moments.

He knew that this day would come eventually, but he had hoped to find the Golden One before he was taken from this life. All he could do was hope that another Ewok from his tribe would pick up where he had left off and continue this great journey, this quest for the Golden One.

The fatal blow never came, however, and when the Ewok opened his eyes he found that he was suspended in air. Slowly, his small body was lowered toward the ground below. It was a miracle! The Golden One had saved him!

"Kiney kla Bont Chu!" he cried with glee, his heart racing.

Several feet from the ground, the invisible forces that had held him in place dropped him unceremoniously. Clambering to his feet, the Ewok groaned and placed a hand on his furry rump.

"Meechoo seefo! Meecho seefo!" he whimpered, his muscles and bones bruised black and blue beneath his furry exterior. It was fortunate that the blow from the rancor alone had not killed him.

His black eye scanned the arena for Cayde, watching with horror as the tall man was sent spinning through dirt and stone.

"Deksh! Meecho jeerota!" Goompa cried, shuffling toward Cayde as quickly as he could to help his friend up. The Golden One had not shined on Cayde for whatever reason, but it did not matter. Goompa was here to help him.

One of the spectators could be heard through the cheering and laughter of the crowd. "I knew I should've stayed home and watched Galaxy's Most Eligible," he sighed. "This is so boring. They can't even fight."

The insults from the crowd could've bothered Cayde less- at this point, he just wanted to make it out alive with Goompa! And speak of the furry devil, the ewok was running straight toward him. Cayde smiled and laughed raising both fists in the air in victory, but a sharp pain in his shoulder caused his little victory pose to end short. Cayde winced and tried rolling his injured shoulder, but the fiery sharp pain singed up and down his arm and back and caused the man to cry out a bit in pain. It was definitely broken, and Cayde wasn't too eager on looking at the injury just yet.

When the one-eyed ewok scurried over to the Force user, Cayde embraced him with his good arm before patting the friend on his back. He was glad to see that Goompa has survived the attack and was in better condition that Cayde seemed to be in. Still, their was that slight communication error that kept recurring that made Cayde wish he had studied different Force abilities while he was in the Order.

The rancor roared again, and slowly but surely made it's way to the duo. Another heckler was poking fun at the "performance" Cayde and Goompa were forced into, so, the man found his way through the Force to the heckler's head, grabbed it, and slammed the other guy's face into the railing he was leaning over before pulling him over the edge- still by the head of course -of the railing and into the pit fight he was bored of. Cayde could see a stream of blood running down the paler bald man's nose, signifying to Cayde that he had broken it.

The EX-Jedi smiled and waved at the newcomer and then pointed at the rancor. "Look! Now you've got the best seats in the house!" Cayde turned his focus to the large beast's mind and felt only anger, fear, and agony- poor thing. Cayde's smiled faded and turned into a grimace as he turned to face the bald man who was still in shock and awe of what was going on.

"Shiker!" He called the beast by name and pointed at the man with his good hand, "Supper Time!"

Goompa smiled when his tall friend embraced him, patting his furry back. Cayde was hurt, and the kind-hearted Ewok wanted to help his new friend. The Golden One had blessed the Ewok today, and it was only right that Goompa pass along that same blessing.

"Toma seefo. Meecho chyasee toma." The Ewok reached for Cayde's arm, recalling to his mind a few of the tricks the village's Medicine Man had taught him. Before Goompa could do anything, however, a blood curdling scream echoed through the arena.

The spectator Cayde had yanked from the viewing box scrambled to his feet, his fine purple robes now stained with drops of his own blood. "No! Please... no!" he begged Cayde, his eyes full of terror as he pleaded for his life. "I can give you anything you want! Credits! Transportation! You name iiiiiiit—"

His screams faded to nothing as the towering rancor consumed him whole in one single bite. As the rancor chewed on his meal, Goompa remembered Cayde's plan.

"Yub yub!" Goompa cried with excitement in his small voice. He waddled forward, intent on reaching the humungous chain that kept this monster a prisoner while it was distracted with its meal. "Ooloo ooloo!"

Goompa reached the chain, tossing his spear to one side and struggling to pick up the heavy metal links. He stumbled backward, grumbling under his breath. He had to be quick!

Already, the rancor had finished the first course of its meal and desired more. Its dark eyes fell on Cayde, roaring with hunger as it stepped forward. Who knew when this creature had last been fed?

Cayde smiled graciously as his little furry friend had tried administering some sort of healing method, but they were cut off as the rancor found her food, picking up the frightful man and throwing him into her mouth.

"Ha! Karma!" Cayde chuckled as he watched the rancor grab the struggling man and eat him, flinching a little after hearing the noisy crunches of the poor guy's bones being snapped in half by the monster's powerful jaws. "Adda girl! Now that your fed, we can-" But the rancor raored again, her rancid breath of death and decay caused Cayde's nostrils to flare and coughed a bit, trying to get the stench out of his nose.

"Shit...Karma." Cayde thought worriedly as he turned around to run away but the rancor was quicker than the injured man and snatched him off the ground. Cayde struggled in the beast's squeezing grip, trying to find a way to wiggle out and escape but to no avail. The rancor was opening her mouth and Cayde closed his eyes, focusing on the beast's angered mind- the wrath almost caused Cayde to pull out and accept his fate, but he pushed further through the Force, taking in every emotion he could but translated his own feelings of peace and goodwill to the creature before him.

"STOP." Cayde had yelled telepathically to the beast, straining every bit of his stamina at this point as his left shoulder and arm were still aching and flaring from the broken bones and dislocation from it's socket.

Then...everything froze.

Cayde opened his eyes, panting like an exhausted runner after sprinting a mile in three minutes. The rancor puled Cayde away from it's still gaping maw and stared at the rancor. Cayde could see the sadness and sorrow in those bleak and beady black eyes and Cayde instinctively reached out with his right hand, placing it gently on Shriker's nostrils.
"I'm sorry...I won't hurt you...no one will hurt you..." Cayde spoke in a hushed tone to the rancor, soothing it as he stroked his hand up and down in between her eyes.

Someone began booing, getting everyone else to boo at them as well. This continued until one of the guards shot at Shriker's tail nub, sending the once calm creature into a fury once again. This time, instead of throwing Cayde, it slammed him into the ground while gripped in her claws. The whiplash and sudden pounding from the beast's tantrum gave Cayde a migraine- and then, like before, Shriker threw the man into the air once again.

Instead of everything stopping, everything seemed to slow down in slow motion as something familiar called out to him...like an old friend waving from afar, beckoning you to run to them to give them a tight embrace. Cayde's eyes were drawn to one of the human guards with scars all over his face, probably the animal handler, who had something silver and gold attached to his belt.

Cayde's lightsaber!

Joy and relief filled Cayde to the brim as he continued to fly through the air like a shriek bat.
"YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS!" He bellowed midair, right before he tumbled through the sand and dirt again, this time preparing for the impact. He tried to roll to his feet but still had far too much momentum and tumbled smack into the other end of the arena wall again. He slid to his butt, tired, in agony, but somewhat satisfied with what he discovered. First off, the beast was capable of being calmed as long as it wasn't provoked, and now Cayde knew that he where his lightsaber was to be found.

"Today is a good day, my furry friend!" He called to the ewok, before resting his head weakly up against the arena wall.

Goompa watched with his eye wide as the monster scooped Cayde up into one of its massive, clawed hands. Its grasp was tight, but Cayde continued to struggle. A lesser man might have fallen unconscious beneath the strain or have given up entirely. An Ewok would have died, but Cayde did none of those things.

Nub veek, Goompa thought to himself, his heart racing beneath his furry chest. He waddled forward again, intent on success this time. His newfound companion and friend was counting on him, and Ewoks never let their friends down.

The Ewok slid his hands around the large chain again, gripping one of its massive links with all of his might. A single link was as large as he was, but the Ewok did not shirk from the challenge. On Endor there was a legend of a Ewok tribesman by the name of Thuk, so strong that he once lifted two tree trunks, one in each hand, and threw them onto his foes and saved the village.

Goompa would call upon the Golden One for strength like this now. "Bont Chu, gyeesh eshtee meecho ekla Thuk." With clenched teeth and a prayer on his breath, Goompa tugged with all of the strength he could muster and all of the might the Golden One chose to shine upon him this day.

The larger than life chain budged an inch or two, dust cascading from its iron links. The Ewok panted, all of his remaining strength gone as he leaned against the metal bindings. Clearly, this would not work. He would have to come up with a new idea, one that used his wits instead of his brawn.

His black eye scanned the length of the chain, stopping short of the lock. That was it. The lock! How had he not thought of it before? Goompa scooped up his trusty spear, rushing forward. He would pick the lock and hope that the rancor did not step on him in the process.

The loud thumping of the approaching rancor jolted Cayde awake from his brief rest. His left arm was in very poor shape and he dreaded the fact that he wasn't sure if his captors would allow him to use at least a splint if they ended up surviving this encounter. Then, Cayde saw Goompa attempting to pick the lock, unnoticed by the rancor who had her eyes set on the Force user.

Well done, friend! He stood up closed his eyes, focusing on the hilt of his lightsaber that was still on the animal-handler's utility belt. Then, he reached out and snapped it into the air, igniting the purple blade as it swung and spun around, the hilt landing directly into his good hand. The rancor stopped and stared in awe for a few minutes, then it roared and continued forward towards Cayde.

This time, Cayde was ready for the beast, dodging under it's claws from the first swing and backing up just enough to get out of the way of the second swing.
"Easy, girl! I don't want to hurt you!" He said calmly to the beast that was still trying to mash him to bits. He was using his lightsaber as a distraction rather than a weapon, getting her attention for just a brief enough time for him to get out of the way from her attacks.

Cayde wanted to assist the Ewok but the chain was probably too thick for the EX-Jedi to cut through in a single slice, so he thought it would be better to distract the beast while Goompa tried to pick the lock. Then Cayde would use the Force and calm the beast again, or get her to feast upon the wretched audience and make a makeshift exit for Cayde and Goompa to escape through. Then it would be a matter of finding his ship- but that could wait as the priority now was to avoid getting eaten.

Goompa thrust the wooden spear into the keyway of the lock. He turned its stone end slowly in his hands, maneuvering it against the chambers of the lock with practiced patience. There was an art to it, like wooing a beautiful Ewok maiden. You had to take it slowly and gently, otherwise the end would be a disaster.

A noble and religious people, the majority of Ewoks did not know how to pick locks. But Goompa knew the ways of the world more than most of his kind, although he had only ventured from his home planet a few months ago. He liked to think he was a quick study, and the smugglers that had offered him escort from Endor had showed him many things.

Most of them he did not understand, but this he had picked up on. Running his tongue over his rough and jagged lips, the Ewok concentrated only on the lock and its delicate chambers. He tried his hardest to block any and all distractions from his mind.

The foul stench of the rancor's breath, the roar of its voice and the echo of its feet, and Cayde and that strange purple sword he waved around. It was enchanting, its purple hue bouncing off its surroundings. Later, if they survived, Goompa would very much like to examine this weapon for himself.

"Cha!" Goompa cried with glee, clapping his small hands together. "Cha!"

The tumblers of the lock clicked, its hinge springing open and freeing the foot of the rancor. "Che! Che!" he declared, his one eye darting toward Cayde.

Cayde laughed with relief, turning his lightsaber off after dodging another attack. The rancor noticed it too, and held up on her assault as she stared at her ankle and flung the Ewok a couple feet away with annoyed nudge of her clawed feet.. Then she looked at Cayde and snarled, but the EX-Jedi was prepared for it and outstretched his hand once more. The rancor's snarl died down the closer Cayde got to her until she bent down so Cayde could scratch her forehead again. "See? What did I tell you? I'm not gonna hurt you."

Cayde then jumped on top of Shriker, igniting his lightsaber to deflect the oncoming fire from the guards. One bolt hit Shriker in the forearm, to which she made her infamous roar and began charging at one of the walls. Cayde jumped off the creature as it barreled into the wall, clawing it's way through it and grabbing terrified members of the audience. Cayde took the opportunity of shock and awe to run to Goompa and scooped him into his good arm and ran back towards the rampaging rancor. "We did it, Goompa!! We're home free!! We'll need to find a ship- then we can get ourselves out of here. How does that sound?" He exclaimed excitedly as they eventually caught up to Shriker.

Maybe, just maybe, there was a ship big enough for Shiker to get into- She was free, but not at home on Dathomir. Cayde thought that maybe no one would bother them, seeing as they have a rancor on board their ship, but also if the Nightsisters or Nightbrothers had a problen, he'd simply use his giant trump card as both an argument as to why they were on Dathomir but also in case Shriker got hungry. Either option was fine with Cayde, as long as he was able to get everyone back home.

Cayde's ship was probably still on Onderon where he left it...maybe Goompa wanted to come with him. He'd give the Ewok the option when the time was right, but currently he was just trying to avoid getting shot at while also avoiding getting stepped on by Skriker. Cayde mustered up some strength and lept into the air with the help of the Force, which got him back onto the back of the rancor. "Keep your head down, Goompa!" He said as he made himself flat on the shoulder of Shiker as more blaster fire sounded, narrowly avoiding them. If it came down to it, Cayde would use his lightsaber, but for now he was simply focusing on the Force, creating a small barrier around the place where both Goompa and Cayde held on for their freedom.

With one annoyed, swift kick of the rancor's foot, it was free. It also sent Goompa rolling six or seven feet across the ground. Coughing up dirt and groaning from the impact, he struggled to lift himself up. Settling on his furry bottom, he blinked several times and stared ahead with his one good eye.

"Seefo," he muttered to himself, rubbing his arm.

Goompa suddenly felt very, very tired. Weariness settled in his bones, and he had to stifle a yawn. He wanted nothing more than to lean back and take a nap under the warm rays of the sunshine, to drift to sleep and dream of the beautiful Ewok maiden he had once hoped to marry as a young warrior.

Before he could surrender to sleep, a large arm wrapped around the Ewok and pulled him up. It was Cayde! Goompa grinned over at the man, although he did not like the idea of being carried. He was a strong warrior; he could walk on his own. Still, he could not deny that it was a nice feeling. Comfortable, too. Just like the arms of his long departed father and mother, carrying him in to the hut after a long day of playing outside.

He'd never been this sore, however.

Goompa could not understand Cayde, but the man was smiling and excited, so Goompa was excited too. They had freed the rancor, after all. That was reason to celebrate.

With one leap, Cayde hoisted the two of them onto the shoulder of the rampaging rancor. Goompa could not believe his eye! Never in his lifetime had he witnessed anyone jump so high and so far. "Ee chee wa maa! Toma yayath eleeoth!"

Goompa was a good little Ewok and did as he was told, keeping his head down as the guards continued to fire upon them. He felt one blaster bolt after another whiz over his ear, and he held very still and clung to the rancor. High above the rest of the crowd, Goompa felt very tall and proud.

"Ees nub zehg thek!" Goompa declared.

After the rancor had finished it's assault past the main walls of the arena, Cayde smiled with glee at the groups luck- Shriker had chosen the wall that led to the humungous landing pads that held all variations of ships. Then, Cayde hopped off of Shriker after he spotted an old Wayfarer-Class Medium Transport that held a big enough container that maybe even a rancor could fit in. He turned back to face the Ewok who was still riding the rancor.

"Goompa! Guide Shriker to me! We're leaving!" He called, pointing at the large transport ship. The huge hangar could definitely support the rancor, and with Cayde's powers with the Force, he could calm it if it decided to freak out at all. He ran to the ship and hobbled inside it's open hatch to find that a Twi'lek was already inside. It yelled at him and told him to get out, but Cayde didn't have time for the fuss and waved his good hand in front of the tail-head's face saying, "You will open the hangar door and co-pilot this ship with me." The Twi'lek calmed down and stopped yelling, replying in return, "I will...open the hanger door...and co-pilot this ship with you."

"Good!" Cayde patted the alien on the shoulder and than ran through the now opened hangar and to the entrance, waving his good arm in the air to guide Shriker and Goompa. "Nice and easy, Goompa! You can do this!" Cayde might have seem overconfident in the Ewok's abilities, but with the stunt he showed in the arena with how he used his spear to pick the lock, Cayde honestly thought no one else fit the task of wrangling a rancor better than Goompa Yiglit.

Before Goompa understood what was happening, Cayde slid from the back of the rancor to the ground below. The rancor had torn through the large arena, throwing stone and wood out of its way on its quest for freedom. It marched forward, its heavy steps thudding against the landing pad.

Without Cayde there to hold onto him, Goompa found it increasingly difficult to hold onto the rancor. Whenever his grip would begin to slip, he would grit his teeth and remind himself that he was a Ewok warrior. He was stronger than this!

The Ewok could hear Cayde yelling up at him, but Goompa could not make heads nor tails of what he was going on about. However, Goompa prided himself on possessing a quick and ready wit. From the waving and pointing, Goompa deduced that Cayde wanted him to guide the rancor toward the hangar of a large transport ship.

"Acha!" Goompa called down to Cayde, although his small voice was drowned out by the roars of the rancor and the destruction that if left in its wake.

The small Ewok patted the rancor on the shoulder, nudging him toward the hangar where Cayde stood. "Kaiya! Kaiya!"

The rancor did not heed his words, continuing to barrel forward toward nothing in particular. What a stupid creature! Goompa thought to himself with annoyance.

"Kaiya! Kaiya!" he ordered again in a firm growl, but still the rancor did not heed him.

The creature turned abruptly, and the jolt sent Goompa tumbling down the creature's shoulder. The rancor sniffed a few times and then marched toward Cayde.

Meanwhile, Goompa was falling toward his death. "EE CHEE WA MAAAAAAA!" he bellowed.

Cayde kept calling out to Shriker, hoping she would heed his calls as Goompa struggled to get her going. Then, she jerked towards him and started lumbering his way, all the while Goompa had been thrown off. Cayde already felt like he was going to pass out, so he needed to make this last bit of Force power work to his advantage.

He focused on the small furry screaming body and then gripped yet again with the Force, this time completely stopping Goompa mid scream in Force Stasis. Then, with the last of his stamina, Cayde pulled Goompa towards himself rapidly, and in almost perfect timing, he caught the Ewok again just as Shriker barreled into the hangar
. "WOOAH!" The hangar doors shut and Cayde and Goompa were snuggled up against the large rancor which grumbled happily as it sniffed Cayde.

"...See?...What did I tell you, little friend?...You got it! Now...now we can rest..." And with that, Cayde finally fell unconscious, the happiest of smiles plastered across his tired face.
