Goompa's small body jerked to a stop, halted in mid-air by some invisible force that he did not understand. It was similar to what had happened earlier when the Golden One had saved his life. Except this time, Goompa had not called upon the Golden One for strength.

His brow furrowed in confusion, but he was not complaining. He was glad to not be dead. Suddenly, he was pulled across the expanse of the landing pad into the awaiting arms of Cayde.

The Ewok smiled up at his new friend, laughing heartily. He did not understand what was happening or how Cayde had done that, but he was relieved to be safe and sound. Today had been so very eventful!

"Kash toma toto? Azar?" the Ewok inquired as he slid down to the floor of the hangar. Goompa was very curious. Perhaps Cayde had come across the Golden One ofnhis own travels, and the Golden One had blessed him. Perhaps he had learned the powers of the medicine man. Both possibilities were fascinating!

Questions would have to await, however, as exhaustion overtook Cayde and he fell to sleep. Right on the floor in front of Goompa! Goompa chuckled to himself. He had slept on the ground many times before. It was not so bad. The Ewok waddled over to the tall human and sat down beside him. Placing a furry paw atop his head, Goompa patted his new friend as he slept.

Softly, the Ewok sung a well known Ewok lullaby. One his mother often sang to him as a young Ewok. "Lulalar....lulalar," Goompa cooed before falling asleep himself.

When Cayde woke up, the Ewok was curled up next him and Shriker was also sound asleep, snoring in her corner she had made a den of sorts. "Alright buddy, time to wake up." He nudged the sleeping Ewok gently and very masterfully scooted away from Goompa while giving his head some leverage so he didn't smack his head on the floor. When Cayde stood up, he remembered his arm's wounds- or rather the burning pain reminded him instead. He winced in pain and slowly and carefully tore off his left sleeve.

His entire arm was purple and blue, with some really bad sprains and tears in his muscles. Without adrenaline, Cayde wasn't sure he would've been able to pull off the emasculate series of stunts he made with the Ewok. Cayde inhaled and closed his eyes, raising his good hand over his shoulder and popped it back into place. "GAAaah!" He cried as he dropped to his knees from the pain.

Alright...now for the fun part...He thought was he held his hand over his arm still, focusing on each rip and tear in his flesh, each bruise that ached with a cold searing pain...and focused on mending it all. The process was a little draining, and he only managed to heal the more damaged parts of his arm, but it would have to do. "Here," The orange Twi'lek smuggler offered what looked like a . "Take this." Cayde bowed his head to the pilot in respect as he took the sling and propped his left arm into it so it rested comfortably.

The Twi'lek looked at the snoring rancor and then at the Ewok, muttered something about not getting paid enough anymore these days and wandered back to the cockpit. Cayde was glad that his mind trick had worked better than expected. He only wished for Kargen Sol, the Twi'lek's name, to simply drop Cayde and Goompa off. But Kargen decided that he wasn't going to be a low life anymore and wanted to make something of himself. The Guardian felt only respect for the changed man.

After some brief exploration, Cayde found what seemed to be an old imperial cadet helmet, but it was spray painted in brown, green, and maroon camo. Cayde, out of childish curiosity, placed the helmet over his head and activated it. It had a Scout HUD and a rebreather! Cayde messed around with the magnification for a while, then accidentally misclicked and a different HUD pulled up- a Translation Visor. Cayde laughed at the good news- now he could better communicate with Goompa!

He took the helmet off and then walked over to Goompa, being sure to be quiet enough for the slumbering rancor to sleep.
"Goompa, I think I found something! Come here for a second!"

Surprisingly, Goompa slept soundly. Like a baby, curled up into a small, furry ball. His family had always told him that he could sleep through a boar-wolf attack, and maybe there was more truth to that statement than he had believed. Perhaps, if he had not been such a sound sleeper, the young maiden of his youth would not have left him. Goompa sighed wistfully, the memory fresh on his mind.

A long night of hunting and patrolling had kept him up all night, and he'd fallen asleep in the watch tower and slept through his vows ceremony. His beloved could not forgive him of this, and it was only a matter of months before a dashing young Ewok warrior swooped in and stole her heart. A small sigh escaped Goompa's lips.

Ah, well. It did not do to dwell on the past. The Ewok was very happy with the life he had lived and with the heroic deeds he had carried out on his home planet. Amongst his village, he was considered a local hero, and now a greater purpose carried him far away from his loved ones. Were he a married Ewok, he would not be able to search for the Great Golden One, and this was his life purpose. He could not shirk his duties nor the promises he had made to his village and the Elders for the tender, furry touch of a maiden.

Somewhere in this vast galaxy, the Golden One awaited him.

With a grunt, Goompa shuffled into a standing position. An exaggerated yawn escaped his lips as he reached a hand up to rub his sleepy eye. Cayde was calling to him, the human's arm in a cast. This was shoddy work, and Goompa wished that a medicine man was around to properly care for the wound. What did humans know about such things?

"Eyok-nee-chug?" the Ewok inquired as he walked toward Cayde.

Cayde placed the helmet on and activated the Translation Visor which made the actual visor glow yellow. Then, Goompa had asked a question that Cayde could perfectly read in Basic, right in front of him. Then, more words began to appear as a response for Cayde- whoever programmed this helmet was a genius! Cayde might have sounded a little rusty while he read, but he managed a couple words; <It is...a...helmet.> Cayde then turned the Visor off and removed the helmet from his head. He was still smiling his grand smile.

"Cool, right? Now we no longer will have a communication error and the more I use it, the more likely I'll be able to speak to you without using the helmet at all!" Exclaimed, then face palmed as he realized that the Ewok probably didn't catch any of that. So, Cayde put on the helmet again and reactivated the Visor...but a new thought came to mind.

<Goompa...would you like...to continue...being...good company...with me? Would you...like to travel the stars...with me? I could...use your...many skill sets...and I...enjoy your presence. What...do...you...say? Want to...hang around...a little while...longer?>

A grin spread across the Ewok's dark lips. "Meecho akeeata toma!" he cried with delight. There was a renewed sparkle in his black eye. Now they were getting somewhere!

Cayde looked oh, so very silly with that strange and unusual helmet over his head, but at least now they could understand one another. It was almost like magic!

The Ewok listened to the words of the human, taking them into consideration. Goompa's quest was to find the Golden One and convince him to return to Endor. The Ewoks needed their Great One—wanted him back. Goompa was unwilling to be sidetracked on this great mission that was his lot in life, but perhaps Cayde could help him. They could help each other.

Perhaps Cayde had even met the Golden One! That would certainly explain his mystical powers. Goompa was sure of it now—Cayde possessed magic. It must be a blessing from the Golden One himself.

The small warrior put a hand to his chin, clearly deep in thought. Evenatually, he came to a decision and pointed a small finger up at the human. "Goompa treek toma. Toma nub azar..." He cocked an eyebrow and flashed the human a smile. "Toma chyasee Goompa Bont Chu."

Besides, Goompa liked Cayde. Cayde was brave and strong, just like Goompa. They were both warriors. They would get along well.

Cayde was amused by the Ewok's words. His abilities in the Force probably did appear to be some form of 'magic' to Goompa, who was probably brand new to all of this. Then he mentioned a...Great One? Must have been some sort of being the Ewok looked up to or even worshipped- but there was something familiar about that title that rang a heavily muffled bell. He'd need to understand this Great One a little better, but if the one-eyed Ewok honored it, it must have been something worth honoring.

Goompa had proven himself greatly, today. The little being had survived an encounter with a rancor and loyally fought by Cayde's side until the end. Cayde had never known such a friend, and was proud to call Goompa his ally.

<I will, friend.> He promised valiantly.

This was going to be one hell of a duo and there was no telling of how great their partnership was destined to be...
