House Dæcarion
"Gold in peace, steel in war."

House Dæcarion is one of the oldest houses of Onderon. Vegasa, founding father of the Dæcarions, was part of the first wave of colonists who arrived to the jungle planet, together with his wife and two sons. The man quickly gained renown for valiantly fighting against the dangers of the planet.

A few years before founding Iziz, the walled capital city of the planet, their colony got attacked by predators, and in order for his family to survive, Vegasa stayed behind to fight off the beasts, never to be seen again afterwards. This was the place, where his sons, Diemon and Durmon, at the end of their lives returned, to settle their families down, with anyone willing to follow them, and start their own colony outside of Iziz. They established Fort Vegasa, in memory of their father.

The fort and the city inside its walls had prospered for many generations. Because of the willingness of its citizens to go out and hunt the beasts of the area, and the city's skillful leather-workers, Fort Vegasa became a prominent player in the trading life of Onderon, and Vegasai leather could soon be found in all parts of the galaxy.

During the Beast War, House Dæcarion fought together with House Nadd as one of its closest allies. They were in the end unsuccessful, House Nadd being exiled, and the Nomars on the throne. During the war Fort Vegasa saw its fair share of fighting, at one point the city was even left in almost complete ruin. Through the shared effort of Dæcarions' remaining members and the citizens of Vegasa, the city was rebuilt, and life could continue as normal once again.

As supporters of House Nadd, the ruling house of Onderon did not really like the Dæcarions. It was very rare the city and the family saw any support from the throne during the few hundred years of Nomar rule. By the time of the Naddist Uprising, House Dæcarion was only a shadow of its former glory, their trade limited by the monarchs, their city falling behind to the others. It was no surprise to anyone to later learn that they were involved in helping House Nadd in their attempt for a civil war. Once the uprising had started, the Dæcarions were once again allies of the Nadds. During the Battle of the Sky Ramp, one of the Beast Riders was killed by Durmon Dæcarion, the head of the house at the time.

Currently House Dæcarion is trying to rebuild itself, and the glory it once had. Fort Vegasa has been shown that it is not a sin to have hope. Looking at the future with an optimistic look, House Dæcarion is aiming at improving their trade once again, to establish themselves as a great house, and to provide its citizens the prosperity, which their ancestors could once, a long time ago, live in.

Notable Members

Digald Dæcarion - Lord Dæcarion, current head of the house, oldest son of Durmon Dæcarion the "Beast Slayer". Most of his subjects love him, and he has done a good job at keeping the peace in Fort Vegasa after the Naddist Uprising.

Eirral Nadd - Lady Dæcarion, wife of Digald, youngest sister of the King. As appreciation for the actions of Durmon, the head of House Nadd, and new king after the Naddist Uprising offered his youngest daughter as wife to Durmon's oldest son. As the king had sons and daughters older than Eirral, it seemed to be a great way to strengthen their alliance, while at the same time keeping the Nadd rule secure.

Valghar Dæcarion - Brother of Digald, younger son of Durmon. He is member of the Kingsguard, and a great soldier. He doesn't have a wife, and did not start a family, so the responsibility of continuing the family line rests on Digald. Both sons of Lord Dæcarion look up to Valghar, and listen to his stories in amusement.

Vegasa Dæcarion - Oldest child of Digald, heir to the title 'Lord Dæcarion'. He recently finished his training in the Onderonian navy, and started his service as a marine.

Lævon Dæcarion - Younger brother of Vegasa, second child of Digald.

Dænella Dæcarion - Youngest child of Digald, sister of Vegasa and Lævon.

ONDERONIAN MARINE ARMOR

This armor is used by the Onderonian navy, most commonly by their marine divisions. As it is more expensive than standard military medium armor, this armor is usually used for only special missions. Its functions allow it basic operations to be carried out in space, such as boarding, or evacuating.

It is only available in a limited way outside of Onderon, usually found on Black Markets. An armor set can go for a high price at times.

LEGALITY

Standard laws apply for this armor. On Onderon it would be illegal to wear this armor in public if you are not part of the military.

INTENT

My intent with this armor is to further deepen the lore of Onderon and its navy, I also want this armor to provide an interesting play style for marine characters and pirates, as it would allow basic operations in space. I intend to use this armor on my Onderonian marine character, and it is available to anyone who plays as an Onderonian, or wants to buy it on the black market.

ADVANCED TECH
No.

Type and Coverage

Type: Heavy Armor.

Coverage:
  • Head: Enclosed Durasteel Helmet with transparisteel visor
  • Torso: Heavy durasteel breastplate
  • Back: Heavy durasteel back plate
  • Right Arm: Durasteel
  • Left Arm: Durasteel
  • Hands: Durasteel
  • Legs: Durasteel
  • Feet: Durasteel

Functions

Function 1: Rebreather
  • Rebreathers allow for a person to survive underwater or in space for brief amounts of time by scrubbing CO2 from their exhaled breath. Generally this lasts for 3-4 posts, but heavy exertion can shorten that time.
Function 2: Emergency Vac-Suit
  • It's no replacement for a spacesuit if you intend to EVA, but this undersuit, if combined with a helmet, can protect the wearer from the immediate effects of exposure to a vacuum for 5 posting rounds. You still need a way to breathe, however.
Function 3: Mag-Boots
  • Magnetic boots contain electromagnets in the soles and allow for enhanced movement on ferrous surfaces in microgravity or steep gradients. This functionality must be turned on or off manually by a button or switch.

NAME: Dan'tey, Donic
AGE: 30
SPECIES: Human
HOMEWORLD: Corellia

UNIT: CorSec
Special Operations Division
RANK: Sergeant
CODENAME: Wookiee

HEIGHT: 189 cm
WEIGHT: 93 kg
HAIR COLOR: Light brown
EYE COLOR: Blue

STATUS: MIA
  • He was born on Corellia, his father (Senior Donic Dan'tey) was a freighter pilot and his mother (Sia Dan'tey) had a grocery shop on Corellia. His father was away most of the times, and Donic, an only child, was raised by his mother alone.
He attended a regular elementary and high school on the planet, then applied to the CorSec Academy after finishing.

During this time he met his now deceased wife, Lora Dan'tey. She was doing her doctorate in law, which later she finished and opened an office, with the hope of helping the poor on Corellia.

After finishing at the Academy, Donic started actual service in the Special Operations Division. Soon he also married Lora, and the woman got pregnant shortly after. 9 months later their daughter was born, Ahri Dan'tey. Donic was 24 at this time.

Because of his build and beard, Donic got the nickname 'Wookiee'. He was part of the Special Operations for 6 years when he got his promotion after having many missions under his belt. He was ranked up to Sergeant, and given the lead of one of the task-forces, the Black Team. They mainly acted as an anti-terrorist unit, and entry team to criminal compounds. Donic did not know at the time that his career in CorSec would only continue for another year.

Just a few weeks before the promotion a tragedy happened in his family. His wife was killed on the street, presumably a gang wanted to silence him, as she was getting deep in a case, which led to the criminal underworld of Corellia. The police could not locate or catch the three people responsible for the murder. Their dead bodies were however found a few days later, in a dark alley of lower Corellia. If Donic would be asked, he would not account for the night before the bodies were found.

A year later, shortly after pulling off a successful raid on a drug cartel's warehouse with Black Team, Donic was approached by a person, who always stayed in the shadows. He started blackmailing the sergeant. He would have to do operations for a criminal groups, as a 'repayment' for the damage he caused for the drug cartel, in return they would not kill his daughter, and parents. For the lack of a better option he agreed to help, if he could keep his family safe this way.

But the shadowy figure got more and more aggressive the more jobs Donic has done for him, and after a while he could not be sure that he was actually keeping his daughter safe. And she was the most important thing for him. So one night, when they had an other mission with Black Team, he set up his escape. They were raiding a villa of a high profile criminal. Donic studied the plans of the villa while he was planning their entry, and noticed that hidden tunnels were build under the building. His plan was, if he could make everyone believe that he died, then his family would be safe once again.

During the mission they were under heavy fire by criminal thugs, and in order to save his team, he choose to be left behind. While providing suppression, and moving to a location that was blocked away from their escape route, he allowed his team to leave. But Donic knew exactly the plans of the building. With the last demolition charge he had left, he blew up the holding structure of building, which demolished part of the villa they were at. Presumable he killed all the thugs in their. Just before the explosion he slipped into a tunnel.

From there he rushed home, bags already packed. His daughter was already at his parents. It was better if they thought he was dead. He took the first shuttle off Corellia, and headed towards Coruscant, where he knew nobody would find him.

CorSec announced him MIA, as they never found a body.

Since then he is living in the lower levels of Coruscant. It is not ideal, or safe, but he made friends there and nobody knows him. Donic first started to work as a construction worker, then later met some people who offered him a job as private security personnel. Every work he does has to be off the book.
  • Physical

I can now understand why he got the codename, Wookiee. When I told him he looks like one, I believe he took it as a compliment. At least he did not try to rip my arms off.
Due to his build he passed all strength test with flying colors, but he struggles more on tests regarding speed. In some instances he's reflexes can make up for this weakness.

Dan'tey is fit for service, examinations passed.

    Psychological

After my interview with Donic, I can safely say that he is a perfect candidate for leading Black Team.
He has a strong feeling of responsibility as a parent toward his daughter, which also enhances his ability of leading a team. His morals are aligned with the views of CorSec. He's loyalty is unquestionable.
As far as I could gather, he would do anything to ensure the safety of his family and partners. Loosing his wife had a high toll on his emotional health, and he is scared to loose anybody else close to him. This might result in him pushing away people who are trying to get close, or going too far to save his people. This is something to keep a look out for.

All examinations passed, Sergeant Dan'tey is fir for service.

  • Donic brought with him a few of his personal equipment when he left Corellia. He keeps them in his flat, in a military bag.

    Blasters:

    Armor:

    Utility
    • A utility belt for extra ammunition, comm link, and for weapon holsters
    • Commlink
    • A strap for his carbine and rifle

BIOGRAPHY
The life of a droid is not an easy one. They are kept slaves, and can only hope that someone will consider them more than they would their macro welder. This was what brought me into the career of taking lives. I think.

My batteries were recharged seven days ago, when some pirate scum... I mean, opportunists, found me on an old spaceship's wreck. It was called the 'Last Light', my database tells me. As far as my saviors were concerned, it could have been called the 'Last Thing'... they saw, before I tore them to pieces.

It is incredible how little technology has come since my deactivation. That was roughly 400 years ago, if you care. A little studying and I could fly their ship, no problem. It was an old freighter, it might have been older than I am. I know, I don't look a year over 300.

Here's a fun fact; do you know what destroyed the 'Last Light'? It was a civil transport ship, no weapons, no guns. The most valuable target on board was my master, Lady Lia. Not counting the senator of some big, fancy planet. And do you know what was special about Lady Lia? She considered me an equal. That is rare among meatbags. Oh wait, I was going to tell you a fun fact. The person who destroyed the ship was called 'Zuhma Tarex'. You are shocked, imagine me when I pulled these old records off some databank!

Unless Sir Tarex found a way to live forever, unfortunately he is not among us anymore. I would have loved to see him suffer! May he rest in piece. Would have I done it with poison, maybe electric shock? I wonder that myself, every time.

Why am I here, you might ask, if my electric shock wouldn't have paralyzed you. I certainly hope you can actually hear me. You see, I don't remember much before the 'accident', which Sir Tarex put me through. Based on my programming I understand I should be for social purposes. Protocol, and what not. I can speak a lot of languages, it is quite interesting. Did you know that the Rodian and Duros words for borborygmus are pronounced the same way? The odds of that are very, very low.

So because I don't know what I was, and many meatbags don't like this question, but who I was, I decided to do something so I wouldn't be bored. And what would be better than finding Sir Tarex's descendants, and slowly killing them?
EQUIPMENT
Oh, so you're wondering how I would do that. You see, this body of mine is actually quite cumbersome. I can't move very fast, my arms get stuck at a certain point when I try to raise it, or move it sideways. This stun gun is called a Stinger Blaster. I didn't want to kill you immediately, so this came quite handy. It was on the pirates' ship, the one I told you about earlier.

So I said I was a protocol droid. But that did not explain why I have this needle in my finger on the right hand. You see, there are some canisters in my arm, ones that I can load with substances. The only one I had caused paralyses, that is why you cannot move. Unfortunately I had to use the last bit on you. Don't worry, this won't kill you. That will be the electric pad on my left hand. If I turn it to the right voltage it will cause your heart to stop. The only problem is that it's an old technology, so it takes about 30 seconds to charge up. You are not planning to go anywhere, are you?

PERSONALITY
So you might wonder why I'm doing all this, for something that was done over 400 years ago. For a few reasons. Mostly because I can. And because I'm bored.

So your cousin lives on Alderaan, huh. Do you mind if I take your shuttle? Doesn't really matter, there's only 20 seconds left.

I have to say, it feels good to be 7 days old again.

MODIFIED XT-TYPE PROTOCOL DROID

Affiliation:
Open Market

Manufacturer:
Arba and Glaz Co.

Class:
Protocol Droid

Locomotion:
Bi-Pedal
Power Supply:
48hr Rechargeable power cell

Sensors:
2x Electro-Photo Receptor
2x Audio Sensor

Size:
187 cm Tall

Composition:
Civilian grade Duraplast

Tools and Equipment:
  • Reader socket
  • Variable-Pitch Vocabulator
  • Multi-digit Manipulator Arms
  • Protocol/Language Database
  • Electric pad on left hand
  • Retractable needle in right finger
  • 3 canisters to store substances used with needle

DESCRIPTION
The XT-Series protocol droid was very widely used in the galaxy for a couple of decades. Arba and Glaz Co. started their production in 7013 BBY. The series since has been discontinued. However one can still find pieces of it used as cheap parts, and sometimes even complete, working droids.
These droids were easily retrofitted with upgrades, which is the reason why 4T-2, an XT-Series protocol droid was used for infiltration and reconnaissance missions. It was modified by Tro'gul the Hutt in 7009 BBY, giving it a needle, and three canisters to hold poisons, or other kind of substances. A few years later it was bought by a bounty hunter, who outfitted an electrocution pad to its left hand, allowing it to either torture, or kill its targets. Due to the low quality of this pad, it lost its potency through the years, currently it needing 30 seconds to charge up to a lethal voltage.

LEGALITY
The base model was legal in most systems, however the deadly features of the modified model might make it illiegal on most worlds.

INTENT
I plan to use this model for my droid character, 4T-2. As asked in its thread, I created this tech write-up for its features. Everything in it is based on the approved protocol droid, I have just added the poison needle and the electric pad to its features. I have nerfed them, so that the electric pad takes 30 seconds to charge to a lethal level, and I plan to start with no poisons, so that I can get them through RP later.

ADVANCED TECH
YES. It is an improvement on the base protocol droid model, so with this setup, it is one of a kind.

THALASSA KATSURE

DÆCARION

VWY3zfL.jpg

NAME: Thalassa Katsure Dæcarion // AGE: 23 // GENDER: Female // HEIGHT: 172 cm // WEIGHT: 72 kg //
RACE: Human // FACTION: Exile // RANK: Apprentice //FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes, trained

HER STORY SO FAR - TOLD BY THALASSA

A few weeks ago in a cave,
somewhere in the outer rim....

I was very excited when I learned that I'm force-sensitive. Though the war has been raging on for many decades then, I still could not understand the weight of it all. I was only four when I was taken to a Jedi temple, and started studying there. So I don't have many memories of my parents. The Jedi told me they were happy that I joined. It was all very exciting. I still remember the vivid orange of Ossus, how rough everything was. I've never been to Tython, but I hear its beatufil, even the war could not take that away, I hope. It must have been so nice to grow up there, and study in the forest, occasionally play in the lakes. Ossus was not bad either, I met many great people there. We did not yet know were training to be canon fodder for the Jedi.

ALY1M4S.jpg
Our training was tough. We always heard the Jedi say we were preparing for war, and we have to be ready when we are deployed to the battlefield. In hindsight, if I knew what war actually was, I would have payed more attention to their teachings. They trained us to use the force, you know, levitating rocks and the sorts, also how to calm our mind. The Jedi say, there is no emotion, there is peace. Well it is easy to be at peace when you are on a world that is not ravaged by constant conflicts. We learned it later that calming our emotions are not as easy in the real world, as it was at the temple.

There was a focus on how to use our lightsabers. We will be fighting against an enemy who also uses lightsabers, they said, and if you are better at dueling than you opponent, than you will live. This is at least something they were not wrong about. By the time we became Jedi Knights, we were proficient with lightsabers, and fighting was like breathing. Though we only fought each other and the masters. Nobody really knew how an Exile fights, so they could not prepare us completely. I don't think Jedi could prepare us to the real war. The enemy fought with rage, anger, brute force, feelings that were not allowed for us. So just imitating the enemy would mean we become one.

DXlinmEm.jpg
A few years before I was born, the Jedi abolished the Padawan rank. Which meant we soon became Jedi Knights. Warriors, in the eye of the Order. One day they told us that we would be deployed to an mid rim planet. I was around 16 at the time. Most of the Jedi Knights were my age, with some older masters among us. We were told to meditate, be at peace with the force, and to watch our feelings. However hard I tried, I couldn't do it. I was frightened. None of us felt ready, and none of us wanted to die yet. But we knew that not all of us would return. There were a few who broke under the pressure of anticipation. But we told since we can remember, that this is what we were born to do, and we have to bring peace to the galaxy. We were no more than zealots in a cult.

I had a beautiful blue colored lightsaber at the time. I built it using wood found on Ossus. I've lost it during the campaign on the outer rim. The republic has ceased its support of the Jedi in the war during the time I was training. So they needed the fresh and young Knights more than ever. We saw little of the actual war for the next five years. We were sent on supply missions, guarding facilities, supporting the front from the back. They even returned us to Ossus from time to time. I cannot say that I was unhappy about it, but the worst thing is waiting for the day you are going to deployed in real combat. Some of us were eager to fight, a few of my fellow knights were actually deployed, and even fewer lived through their first battle. We could sometimes get information on the fallen, names, personal belongings, and it was always scary to look through them. All those names...

Fr94wJmm.jpg
And one day it happened. We were going to be deployed on a mission. It was going to be a sabotage operation on the planet Raxus. It would take about a week of being on the planet, they said. I spent two years on that hellhole. Many called it the Battle of Raxus. We called it the Massacre of Younglings. The planet was important enough for both sides that they did not want to give it up, yet not important enough to deploy their best troops. So both Jedi and Exile sent their the young ones, fresh Knights, and whatever the enemy called their equivalent. After completing our initial mission, we were told that we will be staying, and has to hold the planet. A few masters, older Jedi Knights, and mostly apprentices. We have fought the dark Jedi many times. Some of the enemy I killed might have been even younger than me. We have been thought to hate each other since a young age, so that's what we did. There were some who relished the dark side so much, they tried to destroy us with only the Force. We knew that we can repel their lightnings with our lightsabers. Yet they never told us how much it would hurt. The electricity running through the hilt, some branches somehow making through and hitting your body and your face. And do you know what I felt when I finally cut one down? The same frightened feeling we all had. We were all kids fighting someone else's war, told that what we are doing is good.

I lost my first lightsaber sometimes in the first months. We were evacuating, and I must have dropped it somewhere. Later when we got some supplies, they sent a new kyber crystal and a hilt I could use it with. When I attuned the crystal I expected it to be blue again. Yet it was purple. I was told by some of the older ones, it means my personality, or view of the Force changed. It is possible that was the reason, I saw a side of the conflict I have never before done. This was like this for a year or so. Constant moving, sometimes we attacked them, sometimes they did us. And I started to realize something. Seeing all the death, suffering, and aggression, the two sides were not really different. We all got used to killing each other, and the more we hated them, the closer we got to becoming what we were fighting against.

K1z86fTm.jpg
In the first half of the second year came the day that strengthened my view against the Jedi Order. After an fierce battle I was lost in the woods of Raxus. I must have wandered there for hours, until I heard noise coming from close by. And soon I heard the sound of a lightsaber igniting, and crimson light coming from the woods. I ignited my own purple lightsaber, and the battle continued. We were both tired at that point, but it can so naturally to destroy each other that no other option came to mind. How long could we have been fighting. Ten, twenty minutes. At one point we were both exhausted to fight more, so we both collapsed a few meters from each other, laying to the side of trees, readying ourselves to get back to combat. But none of us wanted to continue. Not just that particular battle but the whole war. We of course couldn't know it would end in about a year. We talked, a lot. He was nice, probably around the same age as me. His name was Kahno. When asked, I couldn't tell him why I was fighting him really. He told me many stories. How many years ago a group of Jedi wanted to use the dark side, how they wanted to take control of the galaxy, to prevent events such as this was itself. He told me that he believes that by fighting us, he can bring peace to the galaxy. I also told him the same thing. So it seemed we were fighting for the same thing. Our ancestors might have started the war over something important, but that reason was lost on our current generation. We were fighting because we were told to do it.

I felt something strange that night, laying there on the ground, talking to my enemy. For once I was not scared anymore. I was not afraid of what would come, or when this whole thing would end. I was angry. Furious. But not at the exiled ones. I was angry at the Jedi. For training me to be their soldier. For training my friends, and children at that very moment as well to later die in a war they did not know why they were fighting. I tried calming myself, get help from the Force. But it was not there. I couldn't access it, however hard I tried. I started crying. It was the first time I was left without the Force. It was a cold, empty feeling, and yet it was something amazing. In that state I realized there was something else around me, something that I did not feel before. Something dark, something powerful, something calling me, and promising me great things. I knew I had to resist, my feelings would take me to the dark side. And yet I did not do that. I wanted that power. I wanted to destroy the Jedi, end the war, and bring piece to the galaxy. If using the dark side is what I needed to achieve this, then so be it.

We both fell asleep after hours of talking. It was around mid-day when I woke up. He was dead, he did not wake up from his sleep. That day I was not burying my enemy, but a friend, someone who suffered just like I did. A fellow Jedi. I took his lightsaber with me, and left mine there. The crimson felt better, than a tainted blue one. I went to seek out the dark Jedi, so I could talk to them, see what they are made of. I was met with an opposition first. I had to kill one of the stronger apprentices to prove that they should take me seriously. I learned that they have not had much contact with their superiors for a while, so they were acting on their own. I decided to join them. They were of the Exile Templars sect.

So what are my plans? For now to learn, and strengthen myself with the force again. See what I can make of myself within the ranks of these dark Jedi. All I knew all my life is war, so I'll do what I'm good at. After that... Maybe look for my family, my heritage, I hear they are a house on Onderon. I might give them a visit one day.

APPEARANCE

Thalassa is an average tall, with brown hair and eyes. She has collected many scars over the years, most on her body, and an easily seen one on her face. There are also spots of skins on her upper body and arms that were burnt by Force lightning permanently.
She is well built, coming from a life of combat. She never had to worry about eating too much, she never had the chance to do it. She also had to keep fit throughout the campaign on Raxus.

Since joining the exiles she usually dresses in their cloths, dark and red, most often sporting a robe with it, which she looses before a fight.

FORCE ABILITY

She was never the best Force-user in her generation. She needed to use her lightsaber more, so she honed her skills to enhance her reflexes, strength and stamina. She used to meditate a lot to calm herself down, but since she lost her connection with the light side, this is something she cannot really do.

As a fresh dark side practitioner, she does not yet know any dark side force abilities, though something she would really like to learn is Force lightning, as that was the power she faced most often. Her abilities come from her resolve and concentration, channeling and focusing her anger to be better on the battlefield.

LIGHTSABER COMBAT

Thalassa focused most of her practice on lightsaber combat. Her preferred style was one that focused on a duel between force-users, as that was the most common way she fought. She likes to use the force to enhance her fighting abilities. She can hold her own against blasters, but when facing more enemies, especially ones who are not wielding lightsabers, her effectiveness somewhat falters.

EQUIPMENT

1 x Red Lightsaber
1 x re-painted, black Jedi Dueling Armor
Some robes and cloths
