PC Organisation Idea - Interest Post
Introduction -
Hello fellow dark siders and potential evil-doers. @Tsunami came up with the original idea of a Dread Council storyline/group before the timeline launched. Unfortunately it seems he has not been around recently but I'm still excited about this idea. I've been working on my character despite the inactivity of other interested parties and thought I would put out a renewed interest check to see if others wanted to take part.
Last timeline I did the Dark Knights of Sin where every member of the elite group embodied a personification of one of the seven deadly sins. I think it went pretty well while it lasted and with your help I look forward to this being an even better version than that. I do suggest that you read the original idea that I have linked above. I may have left out some of Tsunami's original idea that you might think it better than the updated version.
Overview of the Plan -
The Dread Masters were epic sith lords roughly 4000 years before the clone wars. This group would be the precursors to that group. Originally the idea for it would be the four horsemen of the apocalypse. If you don't know your biblical knowledge that means there is Death, War, Pestilence (sometimes a.k.a Conquest) and Famine.
Initially this is going to be a partnership/team, whom aid each other in there progression, both ICly and OOCly. Since all characters started the timeline as level one this will be a progressive story of earning the reputation as these figures. Our goals would be to strengthen the Jedi Exiles and even hopefully steer it towards becoming the Sith that we all know and
This will mean that there are likely going to be four characters who lead the Dread council. If you are interested but you see that there are already four members do not be dissuaded from pursuing this organization.
Here are the concrete ideas that I personally would prefer to keep but things are still open to discussion. Personal character experiences are also open to being diverse and are very much open for discussion.
- Our characters are not the first Dread Council. The original founders of the Dread Council were members of the original Jedi Exiles that shaped the Hundred Years of Darkness. These founders were our masters.
- Each Dread Lord may have a 'Chosen' that will become the next Dread Lord should they die.
- A Dread Lord is not limited to one 'Chosen' and may have as many as they want.
Initial Story Arc & Themes I'd Like to Explore -
We as the Dread Council will seperate ourselves from both the Jedi order and the Dark Jedi. Afterall both have the term 'jedi' in them. We will still be members of the Jedi Exile main faction but we will be focusing on carving out an original name. In turn this will lead us towards becoming the Sith and remove any relation with the Jedi Order. Now more than ever with the Plot system this will be conductible in a fun and organized manner.
- The Corruption of Kyber Crystals
- The Creation of The Sith Code (but named something different obviously)
- The Erection of The First Dark Jedi Temple
- The Roots of the Sacred Band of Ziost
- The Roots of the Sith Empire Itself
Below I could not put better than Tsunami already did so I will shamelessly keep his original words here.
"The reason I said "Personally" is because there is room for the entire group to pitch in suggestions. I don't want to feel like this is a group of PC's working for me, instead a group of PC's working together for a collective goal. For this reason people who wish to commit to this group are also committing to a rotation of thread creation. This means that every fourth thread is something that can DIRECTLY progress your character if you wish, but also progress the group. This is not to say that other peoples ideas won't offer you anything, but that your turn in the thread rotation gives you the opportunity to explore something that you are keen on doing.
As we begin to gain influence, levels and interest as a group, eventually I would be looking to expand (PC Group) and with that expansion, the roles of the initial four horseman shall also expand. For more information on this, please feel free to ask, however as I feel it is a long way off I shall leave it for the moment.
In terms of the "First Story Arc" - It is going to require us all meeting, as powerful members of the Exiles who are at war with a Jedi it seems like there is plenty of basis for a small group to try and build something as a noteworthy defense."
The Dread Council Themselves -
Originally Tsunami wanted different archetypes but I think with the different Sects that the Jedi Exiles have fill that role already. Below I have translations of what sects I think would work best. However keep in mind if it turns out multiple members are of the same sect it would not be an issue.
The Soldier: This is your standard, Darth Vader or Darth Malgus like Archetype.
- Templar, Marauder
- Assassins, inquisitors
- Sorcerers as well as arcainists
- Generally any of the sects can be a scholar but it would be best to steer clear of the more 'brawny' sects like marauder in my opinion.
These four (possibly five) positions will be held by PC's including myself. One under each archetype. Those who are members of "The Chosen" shall fall beneath these four PC's whom will be their direct chain of command. This does not mean that you answer to them, remember that at the start of this timeline we will be nothing more than a loose group of Exiles however it does mean that they deserve your respect.
What I would hope that this does is give the group some diversity and by default, our threads some diversity. It also helps to maintain the idea that those who stand together, will be far stronger than those who stand alone. Please understand that ALL the idea's here are subject to change as more information is released.
What does it mean to be "The Chosen" -
So what does it mean to be a member of "The Chosen" - Well firstly it means that you are able to get involved in this story and secondly it allows you to progress with the group, in the same way that one of the members of the Dread Council can.
As I have stated; One Group, One Goal. - This still stands when among this sub group.
The plan (As it stands) is that I will personally provide threads for "The Chosen" to participate in a way that either directly involve them in the threads, or gives them a purposeful set of side missions to complete.
This does not mean that you can't do your own thing, participate in Exiles story threads or conjure up your own threads for the group. All shall have a part in this group to play, however the more who wish to participate, the more structure it will take to pull off smoothly. I hope that you understand that and don't feel like this is a way for me to palm you off!
