hyper-light-drifter-1.jpg

Theme
Name: Drifter

Faction: His wandering ways

Species: Chiss

Age: 42

Gender: Male

Force sensitive: Yes, untrained

Attributes: He is quick with his strikes and faster than most, using his force powers for nothing other than Force Dash, a simple flash-step moving him about five feet in any direction. This comes with a problem, because he is very frail. He can't take many hits, or keep fights going for over five minutes.

Personality: He prefers not to speak much, using only single word sentences if he can. As well as that, his social skills are... nonexistent. He has little friends, and constantly pushes others away for no good reason. He has a strong sense of justice, fighting for others who cannot fight for themselves. He has no problem with killing, but only in self defense if needed. He is no coward, but he isn't stupid in his bravery. Other than being bull-headed as well, he stays far away from unnecessary confrontation. He puts others in front of himself, often taking blows that others cannot avoid.

Background: No one knows much about drifter, but he has been wandering for as long as most can remember. As a child, he could not recall his parents, or why they left him in the care of a bird looking droid. He eventually found his way to a town, and they took him in. He trained in swordplay, marksmanship, and Force-Dashing for the six years he spent there. The village was called Lyn'knoll, and was a hodgepodge of all kinds of people. But the main thing to take away was thejr cult. They believed in a Canine deity called Anubis, whom would grant its chosen with immeasurable power if they survived a fifty year pilgrimage. Those who did became elders, and Drifter was destined to become one. He was granted the elder's lightsaber, an ancient heirloom passed down from the beginning of civilization. When he was of age, he left the planet on a merchant's ship and began his journey. Being a chiss force user, he is often shunned from others of his kind. This has led him to be prejudiced slightly against his force powers, and he wishes that he was born without them. After several years of his journey, he stumbled across a black rock on dantooine. A creature came out a pushed inside of his bloodstream, giving him an incurable and lethal parasite that is slowly sapping his life away. He hopes to survive until his journey is complete, only twenty-six years to go.

Skills: He has an unorthodox style of combat, always preferring to be on the move. He uses this for quick strikes and stabs, whittling down his opponent before finishing them off. He also has skill in marksmanship, with a knack for most guns he can pick up.

Gear: A modified ancient lightsaber. The blade itself is wider and bigger than normal ones, giving it the shape of a broadsword instead of a stick. A weak blaster is on his hip, for distracting opponents.

So some quick tips coming from some of what I have seen so far in the approval process:

Expand the background a bit. In fact, personality could use some more thoroughness as well. It seems like these are going on just the bare minimum required to be considered valid on an application. While it is completely okay for apps to be short and sweet, try to add a little bit more detail so we can get a better feel of your character. The bio in particular has some very interesting details, such as this mysterious village and what he does while there, that seem begging for better explanation.

Another idea: Chiss force users are very uncommon. As in, like, stupid rare in what we have seen of the Chiss, partly because they just don't show up in the species much, partly because Chiss generally regard force usage as taboo and extremely forbidden. Even other species would be surprised to see one. Of course, they exist, but I think the uniqueness of his situation is notable enough to at least be acknowledged in his bio. Could add some flavor.

Final note: Bird droid will need a tech write up and be approved in the Tech Forums.

Hope this was helpful, and good luck with your character ;)

Better, much better. I understand his backstory much more now. We'll see what the admins think when they see it, but I like it. Be sure to get that tech write up though

I decided to scrap that idea, since i thought about it. And characters don't have to be approved to be used in rp, I think
