Droid players?

So I just joined the site only hours ago, and the only Star Wars OC I've made already is an independent junk droid. I looked at the species list and was dismayed to find out that droids weren't on the list.

How are droids handled in this RP? Is it possible to play as one or are they exclusively background elements or NPCs? And are droids in this story any different from canon? Do they face different threats? Do they have more or less freedoms than in SW canon?

Droids can be played in the RP just like humans. You'll need to create a character profile for your droid and if you elect to align your droid with one our our main factions, you'll need to apply on their respective boards.

Hi there and welcome to the site! Actually, the best place to find droids is in the approved technology board. I believe there are a few in there that some members are already using as characters. You could also just use a generic droid already found in the SW universe, such as the HK Assassin droids which seem to be popular.

Just for ease of use, you can take a look at my tech compendium linked in my signature. I've got all the droids sorted and compiled near the bottom of the list.

One thing you have to keep in mind with playing a droid is that droids can (potentially) be reprogrammed and have their minds wiped, though this can make for some interesting story opportunities under the right circumstances.
