NAME: Drooga Oon (previously Oon Hud)
FACTION: Self-employed (currently unaffiliated)
RANK: Mercenary
SPECIES: Duros
AGE: 41 Years
GENDER: Male
HEIGHT: 1.82 meters
WEIGHT: 70 kilograms
EYES: Red
HAIR: None
SKIN: Sapphire
CREDITS: 1,000
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Small scars on left side of upper lip. Pierced tongue (small black pearl at center of glossa).
FORCE SENSITIVE: No.
STRENGTH: 5/10 While he is by no means a paragon of strength and physical prowess, Drooga can be a threat if he needs to be. His strength is average, maybe even on the lower side of average as he is thin and lanky and suffers from chronic joint pain.
DEXTERITY: 5/10 Drooga has moderate dexterity, while he is by no means out of shape he isn’t exactly the most coordinated or evasive. He is best with his hands, but clumsy on his feet; relying on his sharpshooting abilities rather than hand-to-hand combat. His arthritis is a major factor in his declining agility and flexibility.
CONSTITUTION: 4/10 He is moderately healthy, though he does have a form of asthma from his chronic smoking. Due to his long limbs and years of living rough, Drooga suffers from arthritis in his knees which make him creaky and cranky. Despite these afflictions, the Duros is quite healthy and suffers no serious health problems.
INTELLIGENCE: 6/10 Drooga is a smart man, highly educated and quick witted; what he lacks in physical prowess he makes up for in his resourcefulness and clever tactics. In his youth, he had official training in a Military Academy whose programs were heavily based off the once renowned Carida Military Academy. This brutal, and prestigious regiment molded the analytical, sharp mind Drooga boasts to this day.
WISDOM: 6/10 Years of working as a Mercenary have rendered Drooga an experienced and keen minded individual. He’s learned many tricks of the Bounty hunter trade as well as intimate knowledge of how to survive in the Outer and Inner Rim underworld. His military training also offers him an insiders look into most government’s political and military inner workings. He’s also quite adept at going undercover.
CHARISMA: 4/10 Life has brought out the worst in Drooga; he is impatient with ignorance and inexperience, mean to the meek and even meaner to the bold. He is a dominant, aggressive person with little patience for--well anyone. He does know how to pretend to be charming for the sake of wooing a potential employer with good manners. These manners and charms do not last long however, and the crude, nasty tempered Duros struggles to maintain positive relations with mostly everyone he comes across.
SKILLS:
Gunslinger- Nimble fingers and a quick reflex deem this Duro a master marksman and gun fighter. He’s a quick draw and has eager, itchy trigger fingers; as well as military training that gained him knowledge of most sentient species weakest physical points.
Sharpshooter- Where Drooga truly excels is the art of sniping. He is educated in the science and math of this specific skill, military trained to know how to compensate for variables in his environment as well as the nature of his targets. He has never truly utilized this skill as a means of income as assassin’s are higher risk for arrest and death.
Smuggling- While not his best skill it is his main means of income. He has a ship made for carrying and hiding contraband for whoever pays him to do so. Spice. Weapons. People. He’ll move anything from one place to the other with little moral confliction. He’s a good navigator and has intimate knowledge of many smuggler routes as well as commercial trade runs.
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Strengths:
-Keen mind
-Expert Marksman
-Navigator
Weaknesses:
-Health problems (Asthma & Arthritis)
-Anti-social
-Covetous and sentimental
GEAR:
-2 DY-225 heavy blaster pistols (one is permanently set to stun)
-X-45 sniper Rifle
-Military grade body glove
- Civilian attire
-Reinforced flight suit
SHIP:
The Ena- A 19m long refurbished B-7 light freighter. While the ship model itself is outdated, Drooga has spent much time and many credits making the Ena into the fast, elite Merc vessel it is. It was originally for transporting passengers and can hold eight people as well as one pilot and one gunner. It’s holding capacity is approximately one metric ton and though it was originally fitted with only one laser cannon (light) he has added a few other automatic gunning systems to supplement it; these are connected to the main cannon and have a puppet system that renders them incapable of aiming individually. The Ena is equipped with a hyperdrive system.
DROIDS:
C9-J4 aka C.J. - A G2 repair droid whose sole purpose is to upkeep the Ena for Drooga. Chatty and experienced, this outdated droid is overly protective of the ship and to a lesser extent; Drooga. Drooga has left C.J’s memory alone for many years, not wanting to deal with losing the familiarity and consistency that his sassy little droid offers, this G2 unit might be the Duros’ only friend.
PETS: None
PERSONALITY:
Drooga is the quintessential grumpy old soldier. He is particular and impatient with others, not keen on interacting more than he has to, as it is difficult for him to be amiable with most anyone. The Duros is harsh of word and action, speaking and interacting with a stern, to-the-point manner that often times leads others to find him abrasive.
He is easily irritable and quick of temper, he does find people interesting (in theory) and often times sits in cantinas and bars for the sake of observing them.
He boasts a genuine sense of bravado and a very odd sense of old-world chivalry that tends to rear it’s ugly head when old acquaintances are involved. As there are not many acquaintances in his life this is a rare sight indeed.
While he is outwardly cold and taciturn, in moments of privacy he can be quite sentimental. At times, his Durosian curiosity gets the better of him and he can be almost childlike when encountering new things. He likes to collect odds and ends from various jobs he’s taken and is quite protective of his Ship; The Ena, and his old G2 repair droid; C.J.
Drooga has a deeply hidden, secret soft spot for slaves and other people with hard lots in life. He is resistant to friendships and not easy to manipulate, often times not trusting anyone in need or distress because he knows of this weakness.
BIOGRAPHY:
Drooga was born on Urrdorf City, the smallest of the twenty orbital cities of the ruined planet of Duro. Overcrowded and impoverished, the surviving Duro space station was a haven for criminals of any species. Drooga was born named Oon Hud, the only child of a law enforcement officer of Urrdorf Space Station; Dun Hud, who had instilled in his son from early childhood the concept of right and wrong.
His father’s views were very black and white on the matter; a way of seeing the world that Oon did not entirely share. His mother was too timid to leave much of an impression on the boy, but she supported the dream his father had of saving up enough money to send their only child to a prestigious military academy.
Eager to get away from his overbearing father and the rotten life of Urrdorf, Oon went along with this plan wholeheartedly and even began working odd jobs to help supplement the savings his father had already tabulated.
At the age of 18, Oon was sent off to a Military Academy in the inner core modeled heavily after the Carida Military School that was responsible for many of the elite stormtroopers that served the Galactic Empire under Darth Sidious.
Hardened and well educated, the Duros nearly graduated the Academy as one of its elites; but revealed his true colors once he had all the knowledge the program he was in could offer him. Before he was truly enlisted and sent to serve the Imperium as a trooper, he deserted and took off into the Outer Rim.
Changing his identity, but unable to fully part with his original name, he spent the next 21 years smuggling and doing general low-risk mercenary work under the alias of Drooga Oon. He made somewhat of a name for himself as a reliable mover of illegal contraband, but did nothing overly ambitious as the paranoia of desertion never truly left him.
Hopping from planet to planet out in the Outer Rim, the Duros does little more than build his fortune in hopes that he’ll have the good luck to retire and die of old age. This seems unlikely as the older he gets the more interested in the affairs and conflicts of the galaxy he becomes.
