Daedalus: an expensive monstrosity, larger than some planetoids, slower than a Gammorrean that ate too much lead paint. It hummed with life despite the war. In spite of the war, some might say. The galactic economy had taken a hit with war breaking out, and an influx of war refugees had crowded parts of the massive station. The credits they bought gave their own camps a boon when it came to dealing with the station. Unscrupulous traders and con artists swept in to swindle the helpless and make a profit. It truly was a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Two villains in particular stood foot on the station this day. Bree'tor, who didn't really stylize himself as a villain (then again he was sort of insane) and Aurelia Sovark.

Bree unlocked a large, hard-cover case that a technician had brought in before their private shuttle had taken off. Inside the black case were three highly modified datapads. A universal connection jack was nestled inside each one. "We're going to plug these into server rooms that handle Daedalus' command functions. One room primarily handles engineering, the other navigation, the third handles security systems. These datapads have been modified and installed with sophisticated software that tricks a host server into thinking the datapad is a benign piece of hardware. It will allow for remote communication and access from a supercomputer back in Hades Tower. Once we plug these in and head back, we will work on breaching Daedalus' systems and opening barriers for other teams. Finally, we will also be routing command functionality away from substations. Any questions?"

Not bad... not as good as what I could have done, but still, workable.

Aurelia examined the datapad Bree'tor handed her with extreme prejudice. To say she was prideful was an understatement. Technology was her magic, and she fiercely pushed herself to understanding every tick of a machine. Most datapads had similar operating systems. The only failing was they normally lacked specialized equipment, and modifications to them were usually visually obvious, making it dangerous to use them in public. It was the reason why she kept her own devices secret from anyone around her whenever she could, but she'd have to operate unrestrained if she wanted to get out of this 'plan' alive, intact and wealthy.

Their destination were the server rooms. Access there was as restricted as Daedalus got. Beyond the obvious guards and private security forces, there were redundancies for security redundancies. Systems access control restrictions, triple-encrypted authorization protocols, multi-factor authentication routed through cryptographic verification, multiple Legion-class networking firewalls... and that was just what she'd heard about.

This was what she lived for. A real test, a true challenge. Something that would push her to the limits of what she could do. And if they were going to be using the power of the Hades Tower mainframe, well, it had better be one big frakking supercomputer. Nobody has karked with Daedalus before and gotten away with it. They would be the first. She would be the first. Aurelia couldn't hold back her grin and didn't even try. She simply turned to look at her Rodian boss.

"When do we start, mate?"

"The server room that handles security systems will be the hardest to get into. Biometric locks, keypads, and you can't pretend you're lost or doing a system update without getting an ID checked carefully. So we'd have to get invited inside somehow. Climbing through ventilation is much noisier than it's portrayed...Bree knows firsthand. Bree thinks if you impersonate someone everyone trusts, like a food delivery person, you might at least get your foot in the door. Then you could let Bree in. Bree'd wear stealth armor that would hide Bree from sensors. Then Bree would plug the datapad in an easily concealed spot. The problem is how to keep the workers distracted from their consoles until Bree leaves. Well, one of the problems."

Bree pulled a small file folder from a compartment in the case and handed it to Aurelia. "Rough dossiers on the workers in this shift and the next. It was difficult to get a lot of details for obvious reasons, but observation and low-level research has uncovered basic hobbies and habits. This shift, for example, usually eats lunch inside the hour, and it's usually delivery sandwiches or pizza. It's too late to get you a job as a delivery driver, so if we do that method, you'd have to intercept the guy at some point."

Aurelia listened carefully as Bree presented the plan. Thus far, there were two phases to their little incursion, and each possessed two unique obstacles. Daedalus' systems and operations was the heart of the massive station's functionality. It'd only make sense that security there was especially rigid and maintained. Even with the option of impersonating an expected arrival, their access would only be minimal. But then, if they were smart, fast and lucky, that would be all they would need.

"For the sod I'm suppose to be impersonating, just tell me where they are and I'll handle it."

Aurelia's eyes widened and dilated as she took the dossiers and quickly flipped their pages. Her eyes whisked about rapidly, almost appearing as if she were having a seizure, as she took in every word and detail, memorizing it down to the last. Of course, the information itself was limited, but her mind was a superior place for hoarding information anyway. Besides, it wasn't like she could take those files in the field with her. After a few seconds of rapid reading, Aurelia forcefully shut her eyes before slowly and gently opening them again, handing the files back to Bree.

"Now, as for the distraction, which kind do you need? Do you need them to be physically gone from their consoles, or do you need a distraction created from within the system?"

Bree took the files from her and returned them to the case. Bree will need them gone from their consoles, or not looking. Bree can crack the external door lock, or you can leave it open a little bit for Bree, but the main challenge will be keeping them distracted for long enough for Bree to plug in the datapad and make sure it isn't automatically rejected. As for the food delivery, usual delivery route brings the speeder down Obi Way. And we've got about...five minutes until the usual time,"[color] Bree said, checking the time. "Bree will wait in the speeder, it'll be parked a little ways down from the server station. The one good thing about this, nobody really expects an invasion into secure server rooms from the inside. Oh hacking sure, but have you ever seen the row between two adjacent server racks? Very filthy, nobody looks back there until it's time to replace stuff."
