DESCRIPTION​

The DT-12 was a relatively expensive blaster pistol offered by BlasTech known for its compact frame and wide, non-human-friendly trigger guard and grip. This weapon could alternate firing regular shots and stun bolts using a side switch. The construction was sturdy and reliable in grimy conditions owing to a closed system and comprehensive heat sink technology.

Both the barrel shroud and side-mounted regulation rods vented heat away from internal systems. A DT-12 could empty a power pack with continued fire without barrel warping or overheating, although it still wasn't advised to make a habit of it. The targeting 'antenna' and sensor scope were used for both iron-sight aim and linking to a HUD rather than a bulky macroscope. Its power packs are slim, holding seventy-five shots that go out to forty meters.

Forgoing features like ammo count displays or electronic switches, the DT-12 is instead prized for the reliability and workmanship of its more manually-minded construction and compact galven circuitry. Blastech managed to build a powerful and durable weapon into a more compact package that retained ease of disassembly and maintenance. Customized grip panels and logo are available with purchase.

DT-12s remain in production to this day, running about 900 credits brand new.

LEGALITY​

Legal. Ownership of blaster pistols is not restricted in most of the Galaxy, however openly carrying such a weapon in public might be on more "civilized" worlds. On less civilized worlds, it still might draw unwanted scrutiny.
