Character Intro

In the far reaches of the planet Dolomar there lived a self-exiled Jedi who called himself Jubei. His own misery and guilt drove him to near insanity, and his self-righteous being forced him to take a dramatic leave of his Order. He had only achieved the rank of Jedi Knight, but had the cruel experience and seasoning of a hardened killer.

When he first arrived at Dolomar, the planet's vast system of caves almost pushed him to leave again in confusion. Jubei knew he had nowhere else to go, though, so he strived to survive to attempt to form a better life for his descendants. He carried a large burden, for he knew that the fate of his children and children's children depended on his success. At first, he hoped he would get assimilated and get a job going before he'd have kids, but a woman beckoned him. She stole his heart right from his body, breaking down the man to his base. Foolishly in love, he tended to her every need, letting her climb the ladder to the top of his priorities.

One day news came, in the form of a rounded belly on Jubei's lover. She was with baby, but the two had nowhere near the financials to cover it. They could do the best they could, but they both knew in their hearts that this baby would live a scrounging childhood.

So the baby was born, and Jubei named the boy Durane in honor of his brother who had died at war for the Jedi. There were oddities noticed from the start of the infant's life, though. The boy, at the age of three, was speaking in advanced English about battles fought. This was impossible at the time; Jubei had never once spoke of any fighting to the boy, not to mention his wife had never even seen a lightsaber, let alone any form of blaster. Young Durane spoke of friends dying, depicting battle scenes in which only Jubei and his battle comrades alone would have been able to recall. Jubei was alarmed, for he knew this was unworldly behaviour of a 3-year old.

The young father brought Durane to a mystic who lived in the city. The wiseman examined Durane's behaviour and instantly came up with the source of the predicament. He told Jubei that when his brother died in war, his spirit had been released from his physical body, entering the spirit world. His brother's soul wandered for years, waiting to enter the physical world again. When young Durane was born, the spirit found it's way to this young body, therefore reincarnating as young Durane. The baby didn't have the conscience of Jubei's brother, but faint memories could be recalled from time to time. The mystic told Jubei that Durane's spirit had resided in the ethereal realm for far too short, which is the reason the baby could recall memories from his past life. The wiseman said that Durane's spirit had entered the physical world prematurely for a reason, though he did not know. This mystic and the enlightened Jubei both knew that there was a sealed fate for young Durane now, that his spirit's goal would be achieved no matter what.

So after hearing this, Jubei decided to repay his brother's soul by devoting his life to Durane. He would teach him all he knew about the Force and blaster and lightsaber combat. More importantly, though, he would teach Durane how to control his mind and conscience. Once he could teach Durane to see beyond himself, he knew the boy would find his utopia, and his soul would pursue the goal it had entered this life for.

Current Physical Characteristics

The young man is currently twenty-six years of age and is 6'2, weighing 195 pounds. His hair is a deep almond color, flowing thick and a bit greasy. His skin is pale from living in the caves of Dolomar. His eyes are a deep purple, glowing fiercly.

His armor consists of a tanned leather jacket and pants, both stitched beautifully, and mail shoulderpieces passed down from his father. He wears protection on his knees and elbows in the case of falls. His hands are covered by gloves to protection from blistering. His boots are structured with a water-repellent, leathery material.

His weaponry consists of his father's lightsaber, which is the color blue, a small knife used for tight situations, which he keeps in his right boot, and a larger blaster that has a scope for long-ranged shots.

Personality

Durane is much like his father in that they both believe in the extreme, and can get carried away by things they believe passionately about. He is respectable and respectful around audiences or strangers. He's not shy, but is quiet and speaks only when he feels his input will value himself or those he feels indebted to. After what his father told him about his spirit's premature entrance into the physical realm, he searches for the reason why it had all happened.

Thanks both of you. And the only photo I've found so far is the one in my avatar; I'm still searching for more.
