Its more to get people thinking about it than the actual decrease in Global Warming that it will actually cause.

the global warming people want you to believe the following:

1) global warming exists
2) global warming is man made
3) drastic measures must be taken now to correct it.

The reality is:

1) The earth's temperature has been fluctuating since the beginning of time.
2) The sun probably is the biggest single driver in changing global temperatures (i.e. the temperature of Mars was rising at the same rate of the earth during the last decade or so).
3) it probably isn't worthwhile to take any steps to correct something we have no control over.

We're in an interglacial period at the moment, we've not come out of the last ice age yet, we're just between the parts where most of the world is covered in ice (which lasts thousands of years), which would explain "global cooling". But to be honest, I'd rather make the mistake of living as though glabal warming is real, and prepare for something that never occurs, than ignoring it and risking it being right. Lesser of two evils.

This entire global warming thing is funny.
Here is the honest and lovable truth. I am going to die sometime before 2100. What happens after that, I couldn't give less of a f*** about. All I know is, Humans are likely not making it to the end of this Millenium. We can completley ruin earth, but guess what, in 1,000,000 years time, it will be back to normal. We are NOT permanent, and things have lived and worked long before us, and will continue to do so long after us.

Though for the attempt at stopping it, I think it would be pretty worthless as we do not know exactly what is causing it. It would probably be better to simply prepare for a warmer world (or cooler one) than to attempt to stop it as we don't really know how to stop it if it is even possible.

I do not agree with Agri though, I sort of think that humans will last forever.
