Payments didn't arrive. Not a single credit. Break into the Czerka manager's secure home and make her compensate us for our efforts.

V1KDVMp.png

Czerka Administrator Bazelia's resort stood on the upper levels of Coruscant, nearby her office. The penthouse offered decent view on the surrounding area, since only a few buildings towered above this building. Expensive. But the luxury can't give enough protection.

The hotel offered standard security guards. Since anyone could come in and out with permission, they wouldn't hurt anyone, unless they were flagged down. This system could endanger the team, if they entered without good reason.

"I've got a few details," Jay said. "We don't know what's inside, but I expect nothing special. She was cheap so far, guess her bodyguards are cheap too."

It all made sense. The way she behaved showed she doesn't know what worth spending on and what don't.

"All this security and hardened home. We can lay a trap there, but honestly why should we bother with it?" Jay asked. "We could wait until she comes and approach her in the lobby, how does that sound?"

Cardinal wasn't a patient man, especially when it came to money. However, over the past few weeks, he had given extra time for Czerka to transfer the credits they owed for the work he had done for them. Cardinal's patience had run low with them, and so he had contacted his other partners to see if they too had not received their payment. They hadn't. Now it was time to act and confront Czerka Administrator Bazelia.

If Cardinal had his way, he would of had the administrator assassinated, but he first wanted to hear what Jay and Kass had to say. They sat in one of Cardinal's mobile response vehicle, which was just a large hover truck to discuss what they were going to do with Bazelia. Currently the vehicle sat right outside of the administrator's large hotel. "That's lucky for us, that she doesn't have good body guards. What do you suggest we do with her, once we got her? Should we kill her and steal whatever she has, or blackmail/threaten her for our money?" Cardinal smirked, the situation was very easy, in fact, too easy. Anyone could access the resort, and security was so corrupt, he could either bribe them to let the gang in, or just install some of his men as the resort's security.

Kass sat with her legs crossed, the ankle of leg resting relaxingly on the knee of the other. “I guess we have two options, we could sneak in and hit her in her penthouse. Silent, and deadly, then raid her vault.” She smiled at this option as she preferred to stay as non-violent as possible. “Or we could enter the front door and fight our way to the top.” While still not liking the idea of being the aggressor, the woman did rob her, and no one robs Corser. “I will support either action. However, if you choose the first, I can likely get us in without detection.”

She leaned forward and looked at the building. “It would require me taking a closer look, but it doesn’t look too difficult. We could likely climb right to the rough and enter through the top.” She leaned back from the window and looked the two over. “What do you guys think?”

Kassanda offered that she could bring them in without detection. But can she live up to her promises? Jay smoked a Chandrilan cigarra while he thought about it. He finally nodded his head as he exhaled a thick cloud of smoke.

"All right," he finally said. "Take a closer look Kassanda. I will get a speeder to take us to the top."

Since it was Coruscant, many pilots offered their taxi services. Jay just flagged one down, and asked him to wait until Kassanda was ready. The taxi could take them to the top immediately.

"We don't need to climb when we can just fly." Jay grinned as he handed a few credits to the pilot.

Cardinal didn't like heights too much, but it was what the other two had agreed on. Cardinal didn't know if only Kass was going to infiltrate the penthouse, or if all of them were going to go in. Jay and Kass had both used the word, "Hey" which would suggest they were all going up there, as to going "in" Cardinal didn't know. He'd find out when "they" got up there.

To be honest, Cardinal would have preferred strongarming the place, and just taking the whole thing over. There weren't that many security guards, and those few weren't even qualified in combat. The others apparently wanted to go the non-violent and more complex way. He'd just have to deal with it.

"Alright, let's get to it then"

The trio and their men headed outside the truck and Jay hailed a taxi. Fortunately the speeder was large, so they were all able to fit in it. In a few moments, they had arrived at the roof of the penthouse. Cardinal wondered if there would be any guards. There were twelve. "
Well lucky us. Guess we'll play Damsel in Distress? Or get help?" There were four guards, and two of them approached the speeder. "So much for sneaking in."

Kass directed the taxi pilot to take a non-conspectus route around the hotel. She watched the patrol and the security defense. The hotel was old and Kass had infiltrated one similar in the past. She plotted a plan and course action in her head to infiltrate the building without disturbing the guards. “The guards are using a standard imperial patrol pattern. First-year Imperial Boot Camp.” She nudges Jay. “See, don’t you remember doing those during your training days.” She paused as she realized that she gave a piece of her past to the group. She quickly gave a few more credits to the taxi. “If you want to make more, do as I say.” The taxi driver nodded and followed the commands. She looked back at her two companions while pulling her hair back into a ponytail and sliding her helmet on.

The taxi driver was more skilled than expected. He followed her instructions to a ‘t’. Taxi managed to slip the group into an unmonitored location. As the taxi got close, Kass did a backflip off and on to the area. She quickly worked on the vent cover. The taxi pushed closer for the remaining group to exit the taxi on to the platform. After all the personnel had disembarked from craft, it sped off on a course designated by Corser.

The Czerka guards failed to spot the intruders, thank to Kassanda's efforts. Through the ventilation system they eventually ended up above the residence where the administrator lived.

Through the holes various paintings became visible. Various pictures of freedom and prosperity. She was obsessed with them.

"I have no idea what this is about," Jay whispered. "Are you sure this is the right room?"

The administrator's protocol droid strolled through the room. Jay even held his breath to avoid being spotted, but the droid suddenly stopped in the middle of the room. It didn't move, neither moved Jay.

Seconds passed until it finally left.
"Huh, that was close."

Jay removed the vent access and silently crawled into the kitchen. No sign of their target, just her half-finished lunch on the table. "Yes, keep looking for them." While taking cover positions the administrator was overheard talking distantly, the responses she got was inaudible. "They won't get away." Jay pointed at the next room and prepared his rifle, slowly raising. "They know about the Rakghouls, they must die, understood?"

Deep down a small part of Jay's soul wanted to kill. It always wanted to, and a few times already did. He should avoid it, but his demons, his old human instincts may take over. He wished it would take over and finally finish here.

As he silently dashed into the room the protocol droid rapidly turned around and opened fire with a pair of blaster pistols. Bazelia froze from the shock. Jay got hit in his armor, a strong punch into his chest that made him stumble. As he regained his balance he aimed at the protocol droid and opened fire.

The CZ-MSBR's burst shot melted the droid's plate before burning it's power core. It immediately dropped due the lack of power. Weird, since protocol droids normally can't fight. It had to be modified, which Jay hadn't seen before.

Jay glared at the motionless administrator. The holo transmitter was still in her hand.
"I want you to guess what I'm going to do to you."

By magical means, the guards didn't notice them zooming around and checking out their defenses. "It'll be a miracle something doesn't go wrong." Cardinal grunted. Everything had gone according to plan, so far. Cardinal wondered how weird this whole action seemed to the poor taxi driver.

It was a surprise to Cardinal that Kass had located a vent perfectly placed in a unmonitored area. The gang got out of the taxi and infiltrated the penthouse. Jay went first with Kass second, and Cardinal taking up the rear. Just in case.

After what seemed a few minutes, they had found their way in the ceiling of the administrator's room. Cardinal couldn't see what was happening in the room, but he could hear voices inside, one appearing to be the administrators. "What's going on in there Jay?" Cardinal whispered.

Cardinal watched as Jay jumped from the vent and dashed through the room. He couldn't see what Jay was doing. "Should we follow him?

Kass watched as Jay entered the room from the vent. Cardinal had questioned about following Jay. In a low tone, the mercenary replied with a yes. Slipping silently into the room, the room to life as the action ensued. Blaster fire from the droid and returned fire from the agent. Jay seemed to have the target under control. The onyx helm human dashed to the door, removed her sword from the sheath. Waiting for the door to open for the guards, Kass readied her weapon.

“Handle what needs to be done. I will watch the door.” She eyed her two companions while remaining ready to pounce on anything that entered the body.

Obviously, Administrator Bazelia wasn't a warrior. She relied on her guards, influence, money and power. The posed protocol droid was one of her traps that she had around as the last line of defense, but she might have other things around. Silent alarms were common in luxurious residence, and Jay knew it.

"We don't have much time," Jay said.
"I swear I will do worse things than your torture if I have to. Open the vault immediately!"

Bazelia regained her calmness when she saw the slight chance of survival here. Credits? Is that only what they want? She could give that. She could probably give more than that for life.

"Hurry up!" Jay screamed.

"All right, let me open the vault!"

She stepped to the safe and typed her code. Silent alarm? Though the doors opened. The room-sized had two halves, with a pole on the two sides dividing it. Jay pushed the woman inside and started looking around. Jewelry, rich crystals, vases, and additional boxes stood all around. When he reached for a box the administrator slightly stepped toward the room's middle. Jay put away the strange chip that was inside the box, but before he could check anything else two more droids appeared. They were behind the poles the whole time. Their weapons clacked as they readied them.

"Oh boy I need some help over here!"

Cardinal sighed as he hopped out of the vent shortly after Kass. Obviously the group wasn't so good in the "planning" area of the mission. Something that would have to be discussed after everything happened, if they survived of course. Everything had happened on the go. They hadn't discussed what they would do once inside, or even the possibility of hostile forces. It would have been extra useful if they would've just acquired a blueprint of the penthouse, but as always not everything went according to plan. Or lack thereof.

Once Cardinal was out of the vent, he drew his blaster, and surveyed the area. Slumped on the floor nearby was a disfigured droid ridded with blaster holes, from Jay. Cardinal walked into the bigger room with the rest of the team and the administrator. He had poooped in at the right time to say, "And after you guess what Jay's gonna do to you. Guess what I'll do to you. Then guess what Kass will do to you. Wait, actually she probably won't be able to do anything to you, physically, since there won't be anything left that resembles your body. So there's that." Cardinal smirked. It seemed the trio had everything under control. "Yea, hurry up! The sooner you open the vault the more time we get to play with you!" That didn't sound right, but he hoped the message had been sent. Cardinal shrugged but kept his aim at the administrator should she try anything.

Some would say Cardinal was a keen and observant person, able to notice the slightest movements or hints, and react swiftly and accordingly. Others just said it was luck. A mere 3% claimed Cardinal was aligned with the force. They were all wrong. Cardinal just did what his instincts and long experience in the business told him. The woman seemed to be extremely calm, and under this situation, that was not acceptable. "I am going to count to one hundred, if the door to the vault is not open by then, I will throw you out of the window." He hoped that threat would add to the tensity and make the admin un-calm. Apparently it didn't work.

It was like one of those holo shows. The one with woprah Dinfrey who said, You get a 1000 credits, you get 1000 credits, you get 1000 credits. Indeed, when those magical doors opened, everyone got more than 1000 credits. It was too good to be true Cardinal thought.

He was right.

Because Cardinal was the farthest from the vault, he was the last person in the room. And the closest to the secret droids. What happened next lay to his comrades.

Kassanda remained near the door. Waiting for the threat to come from the main entrance, the force alarmed her of danger. She wasn’t positive about where the danger was coming from but then heard the call from Jay as they explored a section of the vault. A glimpse of shadow moved and Kass reacted, throwing a knife followed by another. The first stuck dead on and dropped the affected droid. The second hit the droid in the optical sensor. It sent the droid spinning and it had begun firing from the rifle. The blaster bolts missed most of the group but hit the walls of the safe, bouncing from section to section into landing in the middle mast of the administrator. The droid eventually fell to a powerless heap.

"Damnit" Kass mumbled to herself as she maintained watch over the main entrance.

As Kassanda arrived to provide backup Jay stood cornered. He didn't see properly what might be the best course. Cardinal was nowhere to be seen. Even unaware if his partners would be able to eliminate the droids, he decided to rely on himself, involving huge risk.

Jay reached to his waistline and retrieved one frag grenade.
"Kass! Step back!" He shouted. Jay dashed forward toward the exit and released the explosive device, activated. While the delay passed Jay rolled forward and got out of the room. He took cover behind the reinforced wall on Kassanda's side, shut his eyes and held his ears to preserve his eardrums.

The explosion went off. Some parts of the two droids flew out from the room. Jay briefly looked over at them. Bazelia's blood covered the droid's head. She died on the spot, in her very own trap.

"Kark, man," Jay sighed in relief. "Lets get what we can and run."
