The only downside of the Rangers getting new Egg Speeders?

No more chatting shrak with your patrol partner in the same speeder - you had to either stop and shout at each other over a few meters distance of chat on com-links to each other. And if you used the standard issue one by mistake you ended up broadcasting your convo with the rest of the sector so she didn't like doing that. Instead she much preferred the option of hovering two eggs right next to each other, putting the handbrake on, cracking the window down and shooting the shrak across the short distance between Eggs.

They weren't really called Eggs but damned if she was going to call them anything else - when it looked like an egg and handled like an egg in flight then it was a karking egg, no matter what the eggheads thought.

Heh.

Egg puns.

"You alright over there Grandma?!"
she called out across the distance from her speeder to Vera's own, "Try not to have a heart attack at the control stick would ya? We're not supposed to crack these eggs!"

More egg based humor and all because she was supposed to be assessing how the older Ranger woman was doing with handling her speeder - apparently it was new to her so Sakas got the chance to chat shrak.

She swore to anything listening if this walking twig was gonna crack another egg joke, she'd toss something at her. Closing her eyes for just a second, she could practically feel the mounting pressure in her skull. Ha ha, age jokes, hilarious. And very original. Suppressing the urge to roll her eyes, she instead focused on the controls, jaw gritting with the urge to say something scathing.

"Don't get yourself into a scramble there, kid," she replied gruffly. But the faintest hint of a grin sparked in cold blue eyes. "I may not be a spring chicken, but these speeders handle pretty well for a lady with experience."

Hopefully those puns were bad enough to stop Twiggy from talking. Sighing, she began scrolling through comm channels, listening through the Ranger and local network.

Force, there better be something soon, or I'll start cracking up myself.

Well the older woman was at least engaging with her and that sucked a whole lot less than it did when people decided to play the stoic types. There were some colleagues she had worked with who didn't have enough banter to banter off a toddler in a fake insult fight but she was glad Vera wasn't one of those.

Though she had fallen into her trap.

"ACTUALLY might wanna get your eyes checked."
she challenged her as she tapped the side of her Egg, which she had written it's name along the side of it's door, "My speeder is already Scrambled!"

It was, indeed, named The Scrambled.

Of course that was when she saw it on the scanners, a group of fast moving objects moving at a fair old click. She sighed a little bit as the trio of speeder bikes went soaring past. Sakas groaned.

"... they were like 100kmph over the speed limit... should we bother though?"

She had to pause.

Sigh.

Pinch the bridge of her nose and close her eyes for a moment. The girl was cute and all, and Vee could appreciate a good pun now and then... but the woman's constant chattering grated on already fragile nerves. So the sight of the trio of speeders was a welcome sight.

Giving the woman a wry sideways grin, she shrugged.
"Might as well, nothing's on fire." With that, the window rolled up, and she maneuvered the speeder towards the trio. For now, she wouldn't have a siren... but the lights flashed. Hopefully her partner would roll up as well, but she'd only put on the sirens if the trio proved assholes.

There was always someone willing to give sass to the badge, after all. But by this time, she was practically used to it. Came with the territory.

Honestly, Sakas was enjoying the fact that she had bullied the old lady into joining her on the same route because the old lady was really fun to mess with. All it took was some puns and she was already about ready to shoot her for her trouble.

Too bad she couldn’t handle some puns.

But then work showed up and they had to actually go and do it. Sighing theatrically, she shuffled around in her egg seat until she was in the optimum flying position. Strapping herself in (because she was a maverick, not a moron), she nodded to the old lady before gunning it.

No build up, no siren.

Just sheer speed.

Flicking her lights on, she spoke to Vera over the com-link.

"Five credits says one of them tries to bolt - you up for that action?"
