Emryc Thorne’s approval ratings are experiencing steep drops after heiress Jayna Thorne referred to Jedi as ‘protectors of the galaxy’.
The ISC President has made a career of standing against Force using groups, promising his people that they would remain neutral on the Jedi and Sith war front. Since then, his own son has joined the Jedi, and now his daughter has chosen a clear side as well. Citizens are calling out the President’s hypocrisy, the first time the ISC has shown open disapproval of its President. Emryc Thorne has been the popular choice and has secured his role as President for decades with the Executive Council and voters agreeing to increase his term in office.
This may be the first time in ISC’s history that the public is displaying doubts about the President having ISC’s best interests at heart.
“Who else is better positioned to handle the Core World crisis?” Asked Billa Noris, an outspoken journalist operating out of ISC space.
“Quite frankly, I don’t see why the ISC should meddle in affairs that only guarantee our citizens get pulled into a new war,” Said Yvia Kroft in response, “It’s concerning that President Thorne is walking back on everything he promised - a dissociation from Force using groups. It began with openly praising Jedi, offering them ships, and now both his children are heavily entrenched with them. Ezra Thorne’s corporation itself is Jedi aligned-”
“Yvia, isn’t that an EZPhone in your hand right now?”
“That’s besides the point, Billa,” She replied curtly, “The point is that the Thorne family has overstayed its welcome. The ISC does not want leadership that will choose sides in the endless religious cult war between the Jedi and Sith.”
