She gave a small grin back to the little ones, giving a slight fingerwave, then almost immediately having to duck. There were several branches, and low-hanging things; a woman of her stature, though not the tallest, was certainly very tall for Ewoks, and art of graceful maneuver was not her particular brand of forte at this time. However, soon... at long last... there they were at their objective.

If she weren't so tired, she would have bowed, said something nice. Instead she nodded once mutely, waiting on the shaman. When she did at last speak, she nodded again, her voice soft. "Thank you, shaman. It's not every day someone expects me." A light smile touched her lips, golden eyes crinkling slightly.

So if she was expected... perhaps her cause was expected as well. "Pardon my intrusion, but I seek guidance. There is an artifact here, of an evil power. You might have sensed it in these forests." She paused, hands on her knees as well as she crossed them Indian-style. "Strange things and darknesses; beings impossible and terrible making an appearance." She knew she was being vague, but the thing she sought was no simple item. Its' energy could perhaps even be felt here, if she stood still long enough.

Not so hard when her mind threatened to slip to sleep if she sat still for long enough time.

[Tapli Madreck]

Tapli sat in between Indy and the shaman. Once the alien explained her purpose here, the young warrior’s eyes widened. Something evil? It sounds like the old tales from long ago. He thought to himself with a shiver.

As for the shaman waited for Tapli’s translation before jabbing him in the shoulder. Grunting and embarrassed he told her what Indy said. The old Ewok nodded once understanding. (Yes I know of what you seek star wanderer. It’s power is ancient and terrible.)

As soon Tapli translated, then Gnishe mysteriously pointed her stick toward Indy.

(Now why do you seek this object of evil? Is it for glory, for fortune or for something...more ambitious?)

Tapli told Indy what the shaman asked who was curious about her answer as well. He really hoped the traveler wasn’t an evil person. So far he hadn’t see signs that she was.

Why did she seek it?

Why did anyone seek it, really? She shifted slightly, mulling over her words. The shaman seemed to know quite a bit. And if she was expecting her, it would be wise not to hide any part of the truth. But it was never an easy truth to admit... she would just have to trust that the shaman would keep her secrets, and her guide as well.

"I seek this object because I am a Jedi, a Knight. I look for ancient objects, and if they're a source of evil, destroy the evil. I don't come here seeking power or fortune, because..."

She gave a faint smile, and a slight shrug. "It honestly doesn't interest me, fame, fortune, or power."

Her honesty wasn't really all that eloquent, but considering she was running low on brain power it was eloquent enough.

Or at least, she hoped it was.

[Tapli Madreck]

Jedi?! Tapli nearly jumped up in shock but managed to stay seated. He heard some tales about the one called Skywalker who claimed that title. The Jedi and his allies were the ones who helped save their world from the skull warriors long ago.

Gathering his wits, the young scout informed Gnishe who nodded as if she wasn’t surprised. (Yes your kind are guardians and are locked in eternal conflict with the tainted ones.) Pointing to the fire, she added. (The flames reveal much but not everything.)

After a brief pause the shaman went on. (The object is in a cave that you will find in a swamp to the east of our village. You will know where it is by feeling it’s presence but beware lest its shadows consume your soul.)

After Gnishe finished she let Tapli translate before offering a wooden bowl. Steam floated out from the gray liquid that bubbled as well. (Please drink it will help.) Of course the shaman didn’t explain that the drink will make Indy go to sleep.

She hadn't expected answers so soon; in fact, she wanted to get going right now, but she didn't want to stress herself further than she already had. But listening to Tapli's translation, she hadn't taken her eyes off the shaman the entire time, but seemed slightly surprised that the flames revealed 'all'. How much 'all' was there shown? Hopefully not too much...

She looked at the bowl. For the shaman and Tapli, it might have seemed a hearty dose of... whatever it was... but in her own hands it seemed like a small wooden cup. It would be rude to refuse, after all...

Steeling herself for any odd tastes and not suspecting a thing, she drank down the concoction. Something in it felt off and... a little salty? She didn't want to dwell on it too much... but her eyes wer beginning to feel heavier.

"I don't want to seem rude..." she murmured, feeling her eyes close, "But I'm feeling a little... I think I'm gonna..." and she slumped over, eyes rolling shut.

Did they just... poison... me?... were her last thoughts before slipping to unconsciousness.
