A long time ago, in a Galaxy Far Far Away, there lived a small human couple in the droning soundscapes and suffocating streets of Coruscant's under-city. Darran was a hyper-dog vendor near a packed office building, and Lyanna was a pilot for one of the Hydian Way's many many transit companies. It wasn't glamorous, and the two didn't see each other as often as they'd like, but they were happy and that was all they could really have hoped for given their lots in life. Of course, partially because of their struggles and partially because they simply had no interest, they didn't want children, but you know the saying - life isn't kriffing fair.

Enya was born near the end of 119 ABY on a freighter headed into the Outer Rim, coming into the world kicking and screaming and fighting for every inch of breath, much like her parents. Despite not wanting her to begin with, her mother couldn't help but worry about the newborn's safety; call it paternal instincts or simple human decency, but she knew full well what orphanages tended to do to kids, especially in the Outer Rim or an Ecumenoplis like Coruscant, it would've been like she never even existed. Lyanna had grown up in an orphanage and it was a small miracle that she turned out relatively normal, she didn't want that for this child, she wanted her to grow up somewhere that would at least care for her, if not love her like their own.

When they finally reached the Outer Rim, Lyanna pulled a favor with the captain to temporarily alter course to Ajan Kloss where she and her daughter, wrapped neatly in clean sheets, made way toward the Jedi Temple. Say what you would about their naive do-gooder nature, but a lost kid was right up their alley, she would be safe there among the monks. Lyanna left her daughter on the steps of the Jedi Temple in the early hours of the morning, and whether or not it was out of a desire to be a mother for those last few moments, before leaving, she looked back at her child and wrote a name on her sheet wrappings - Enya Darand.

That was the earliest and only memory Enya would have, a teary-eyed mother leaving her child on the steps of the Jedi Temple - a place she would come to call home. Of course, she was taken in and, whether the will of the force or simple luck, she was Force Sensitive, so she would be trained as all the others were. Growing up, she would learn the ways of the Force, absorbing their philosophy, challenging it, but respecting it too, and her power and wisdom would begin to blossom. It was somewhat lonely though, there were some younglings her age but she often found it too easy to get caught up in playing with them or spreading gossip about their teachers to keep themselves entertained - she would often go through bouts of constant study before lapsing into constant play. She would often ponder on the subject of her parents though - Who were they? What did they do? Did she have siblings? Why...why was she left behind?

When she turned 13, she was apprenticed to one Sybian Mariner, a much older and gruffer Jedi Knight whom, nonetheless, was a very caring and kind figure (assuming you didn't steal his stew that is). His teaching style was unique to be sure - he would often take her out of the Temple and into Ajan Kloss' wilderness where they would, as he put it, connect with the Force in it's purest form. She would continue her swordsmanship and Force training, but she also began to learn survival skills such as living off the land, how to make use of natural landscape and resources, how to make good shelter or survive the harshness of the elements when she couldn't, and yes, how to make her own meals from the local wildlife. She had to admit, killing the animals and cooking them wasn't something she wanted to do, but her Master seemed to take a lot of joy in cooking various stews and broths and legs of meat, it was something he wanted to share with her. She wanted to share in that joy with him too, and in many ways, she started to see him as a surrogate Father.

He seemed to recognize this though. Throughout their first year of training, they would talk about many things, but often, Enya's parents would come up in her thoughts. He cared for her a great deal, and although the Jedi taught that she should let go of those feelings, he knew how important closure was, so he decided to help her find her parents. Looking up the shipping registry for the days surrounding her arrival as a baby, they found Lyanna's name, along with a matching surname and, with this clue, they managed to track her back to Coruscant. Unfortunately, life wasn't particularly kind to Enya's mother or father, they found out by talking to some co-workers that, around 2 years after Enya's birth, Lyanna fell ill in the Outer Rim - Quannot's Syndrome - she didn't make it back home. As for her Father...well, grief could cause people to do a lot of things and, according to some witnesses, he just stopped showing up to work one day and, eventually, someone else took his hyper-dog stand. There you had it, she knew who her parents were and what happened to them, and even though she still didn't know for certain, she could guess why she was given up. She couldn't tell if it had any effect on her, but at the very least, on that day, she had some of her questions answered, and her mind rested a little easier.

The Master and Apprentice returned to Ajan Kloss and the rest of Enya's training proceeded smoothly, with her bond to Sybian only growing as they began to venture out into the Outer Rim territories to crusade against the evils of the Hutts and the Sith and double-dealing Sabaac con artists (don't ask). Eventually, at the age of 20, she sheared off her braid and was anointed a fully fledged Jedi Knight. Despite her newfound freedom, she still went out and saw the Galaxy with her Master until he eventually passed away peacefully at 73, surrounded by his fellow knights and his former apprentice. Afterwards, she wandered the Galaxy on her own, the flash of her Orange saber heralding the arrival of a Jedi Crusader throughout the Outer and Mid Rim territories. It wasn't easy of course, she wasn't a vigilante, she had to deal with politics and corruption wherever she went, but she forged ahead like a true Jedi would. No matter what Enya did though, she still couldn't escape the encroaching feeling of loneliness that continued to dog her since Sybian died. It got bad enough that it began to affect her focus and her abilities, making her less effective in the field and causing her fellow Jedi to become somewhat concerned for her.

Several years later, when she was 28, she would investigate a Pyke Syndicate operation smuggling faulty and cheaply made medical equipment into the Core Worlds. Their leader was a Twi'Lek smuggler and fencer named Kyren, a handsome devil with a reputation as a ladies man, as well as a fearsome opponent. As she uncovered each layer of the operation and began to make inroads toward Kyren, she found herself becoming somewhat...interested in him. This interest only increased when he managed to corner her while she was wandering the streets in search of leads, pulling her into an alley and giving her a peck on the cheek before his vibroblade barely missed her heart, her saber deflecting the killing blow and resulting in a duel that would lead to the pair of them wheezing and bleeding all over the street, riddled with cracked ribs and wounded egos. He escaped her then, but not without a parting jab - "till next we meet oh ashen beauty."

This was only their first meeting mind you, there were more, with each interaction becoming just as, shall we say, flirtatious, not to mention deadly. As they fought, they would talk, and the banter of a duel started to slowly give way into something a little more personal. The two would verbally spar on their childhoods, their views on the Galaxy, and muses on the confusing and sometimes hypocritical or dogmatic view of the Jedi vs the self-serving, disloyal and exploitative business practices of the Pykes. Despite his roguish nature, she could sense that he had a code he lived by; he never hurt innocents, he only ever threatened or harmed those in the business and never without good reason, and he refused to skimp on his men or the profits they earned because they all earned it together. As a result, he had a crew of tough, loyal, and experienced smugglers at his back, part of the reason why he was so successful.

She knew he wouldn't give up without a fight - at least, not if he didn't have a reason to. She began looking into the things he smuggled after they left his hands, discovering the medical supplies and tech he was transporting was going to poorer colonies, settlements, and slums throughout the Core, with their less than stellar performance often resulting in many dead and/or suffering souls, souls who were then enticed by more Pyke Syndicate goons who would offer them a way to ease their pain - for a price, of course. Smuggle faulty tech, let the tragedies happen, then hook the aggrieved survivors on Spice to fleece them of their Credits, and the smuggling would keep happening because the Guild was paid off. Enya knew Kyren wouldn't be able to look past this, his code wouldn't let him, he was transporting and offloading tech that would contribute to the suffering of those of the same means as him, not the rich and not the privileged, as he previously thought.

When she confronted him, he went to the Pykes himself, despite her warnings. She tried to get the Republic to intervene, but all she got was people muttering in her ear about jedi overstepping their boundaries and committee meeting about what to do with the 'Pyke problem'. Kyren nearly died at their hands, with most of his crew ending up dead in their bid to escape retribution. Despite their deaths, the Pykes chose to imprison him instead for blowing up their supply ships on his way out. Of course, Enya wasn't one to sit around and she made the choice to go on a roaring rampage against the Pykes until she found him again, chained up in a cell beneath Ord Mantell. Seeing him beaten and bloody, she couldn't deny something in her heart yearned for him, something deep and innate. It was a connection, one that she hadn't felt before, even with Sybian, and so after freeing him and exposing the Guild member that was being bribed, forcing the operation to collapse since their ships were gone and the Republic at large knew of them now, they were free.

Despite his role in their destruction, the Republic tried to arrest Kyren after all was said and done - it was only Enya's not-too-subtle threat of retribution should they lay a hand on him that kept him out of their custody. Enya began a relationship with Kyren and, though her Jedi-ness sometimes annoyed him, they would end up getting together as a crime-fighting couple of sorts - they even helped the Jedi and Republic when they were trying to repel the AMS-infected from the Mid Rim worlds. After a year or two, Enya could feel children growing within, their Force intertwined with her own 0 she would be a Mother!! Given that, she decided, for their kids sake,it was about time to retire so, at the ripe old age of 30, she left the Jedi Order and put down roots on Dantooine with Kyren as farmers. 9 months passed and she would give birth to twins, Iden and Galen, her babies. It was starting to feel like a happily ever after...for a while.

As the years passed, and her children grew, Enya felt content, cultivating the connections that she had yearned for all her life. Despite that, the Jedi life was just as much a part of her, and she found herself plagued with a wanderlust and a desire to do good. It didn't help that Kyren would still go on jobs occasionally when they needed money, doing jobs for the Republic and the ISC as they grew stronger. Not only did she stay behind with the children, but she also had to watch as the Republic collapsed, AMS spread, the Sith grew into an Empire once again, only to be ousted by their own, and the Jedi begin to fade and wane into infamy again. She thought that everything she did in her life had meant something, but now she was just watching it all collapse, and slowly, she began to wonder something. Her parent couldn't raise her because the system was against them, so many criminals she had fought as a Jedi were taking advantage of a flawed system, the Pykes were able to freely transport life-threatening substances and tech because they bribed their way through the Guilds, and now the Republic was collapsing under the weight of it's own bureaucracy and the Hutts and criminals everywhere were just taking what they wanted. Maybe these systems she was protecting just didn't work...either way, it wasn't her problem anymore, she had children to take care of.

When she was 39 years old, Enya's children were killed in a terror attack by bandits looking to extort the townspeople for credits. She was out at the time, tending to the fields, but by the time she returned, her home was nought but smouldering embers and Kyren was cradling a corpse in his arms. The best things she had ever done, a part of her, two beautiful lights in the Galaxy that just wanted to have fun, who had barely started to live...dead. The next day, the bandits were dead, butchered and delivered to the town hall, laying next to the corpse of the mayor, whom had sent the local militia for a training exercise at the time of the attack in exchange for a tidy sum of credits from the bandits. Enya had disappeared, taking only her lightsaber with her.

Enough was enough...
