To the average person from the Core Amaru looks like any other chiss - red eyes, blue skin and black hair, once you saw one chiss you saw them all. But trained eye could spot some minor differences. Since Amaru spent literally his entire life out of his species home planet his skin is a little paler than would be considered healthy and his red eyes are missing certain spark. With his smaller and athletic stature and round face he looks younger than he really. His hair are quite short, though mostly because it is easier to care about them that way.[/fancybox2]

Amaru is quite a clever person - he is bright and imaginative, but slowed down by the fact that he is quite shy and sheepish, especially when asked a question. He wants to be around other people, to be part of everything happening around him, but he is too afraid to try to mingle. Once he muster some courage and approach other people and break the ice he can get quite social, but it always takes him forever. This is his biggest inner fight - the constant battle between his naturally curious nature and his constant fear of human interaction. His demeanor is always very polite both to his peers and his superiors.
Physically Amaru is healthy, even though he looks a little pale. He isn't really that strong, but thanks to his athletic stature he is quite agile and quick on his feet. His chiss physique complimented by jedi training grants him increased stamina, though hardly superhuman. Also thanks to his chiss heritage he is quite resilient against cold temperatures, being able to withstand much colder environment that humans. On the other hand higher temperatures drains him rather quickly.

As stated before, Amaru is quite shy around other people. That is hardly his only flaw - he could also be very trusting, especially to other jedi. The main reason for this is, that he doesn't remember much from his life before the jedi training, he was raised among other jedi, never having any reason to distrust them. But since he was the only chiss around he felt alone, never really felt like he completely belongs there, and afraid of disappointing the only family he ever knew. This also means, that he is worried to make the first step, both in combat and in dialogue. Sometimes it might seems, that he lacks any ideas, but that is just his fear to take initiative.[/fancybox2]

Amaru was born somewhere in the Unknown regions, presumably to a loving parents. Sad thing is, that he doesn't know, since he was discovered by a band of spacers in crashed ship on a planet near the edge of outer rims. And he was around 3 at that time. From what he was able to gather his parents were xeno-archeologists, who were trying to discover something on the planet he was found, their ship was attacked and shot down and both of his parents disappeared. He never learned if they died, were kidnapped or just left him. That question is haunting him from time to time even today.
Amaru was living with the spacers until he was 6, when he was discovered by a jedi, who saw that the Force was strong with him. After some talk between the spacers and the jedi he was on his way to be trained as a jedi, leaving another family behind.
Spending his earliest years on a space ship, travelling with a band of smugglers, outlaws and other space dwelling people wasn't the proper environment for proper social development of a child. He learned a lot of improper expressions and insults that got him into some troubles once he started his training. He quickly refrained from using them, because he wanted to be finally part of something and was afraid, that he will fail his teachers and be kicked out of the order. This, along the fact, that he was the only chiss among young students was the reason, why he became very shy around other people. Like any other jedi he spent a lot of time training, learning about diplomacy, history and other thing, but when he had time, he was spending it in archives, trying to find out more about his people and perhaps even about his family, that he never knew...[/fancybox2]

• Amaru is skilled lightsaber user, at least for his age. He is quite adept at form III Soresu style, relying mostly on defense, trying to outlast his opponent, because even in fight he is the one who is afraid of making the first move.
• His force powers are leaving much to be desired. He has some skills in enhancing his natural acrobatics with force, but aside from that he is pretty weak. He can use telekinesis or sense, but only while concentrating a lot, so there is no chance to use it effectively in battle.
• Amaru is fluent in Galactic basic and Cheunh (chiss language) and has some basic understanding of binary, though hardly enough to understand properly.
• He can withstand colder environments, but feels unpleasant in warmer ones. Though since he wasn't living on ice planet his whole life this natural skill is somewhat diminished.[/fancybox2]

• Amaru's most prized possession is his cyan bladed lighsaber, which he constructed himself of course. It's hilt is a little longer than usual and can be wielded with both hands if required.
•Amaru also owns a small holocube, the only thing that he has left from the ship he crashed on while he was still a child. It can display a holo-image of his mother holding him in her arms.
