Not only did Arctus help the Nagai up on the latter’s feet when he accepted the Jedi’s hand, but the Knight also made sure to give the other man an almost friendly pat on the shoulder. The action did not go unnoticed, with Arctus earning a confused glance from the Nagai and some of his colleagues - not to mention the bewildered looks a few of the local forces sent the Corellian’s way.
Still, the man himself seemed oblivious to all of it, his gaze falling upon his fellow Jedi and reptilian companion. After making sure that Ozon wasn’t visibly harmed in any way, the bearded Jedi approached the Arkanian Dragon who met the Knight halfway, her long, serpentine neck slightly curling around the man’s shoulders as he checked her injured leg. While Ozon spoke with Stargazer, Arctus took the moment to tend to his dragon, one hand stroking her neck while the other brushing the space below her left eye.
”You did great, Selene,” he murmured, words of affirmation falling after the other in hushed but gentle tones. ”I’m surprised you willingly stood behind Ozon to protect him. We both know that’s not your usual schtick.”
The dragon nuzzled against him, throat rumbling with pleased grunts akin to purring. After reassuring her that he will tend to her wound while they make the rest of the travel towards the Temple, Arctus looked over at Ozon when the latter relayed their next course of action regarding Barragossa.
He smiled at Ozon, genuine and warm. ”Yeah, agreed. Who knows how many more victims might fall prey to that bastard’s gang.”
Turning to the cargo ship’s general direction, Arctus added, ”I’m ready to go after we’ve finished our escort duty here. It’s better we move as quickly as possible so we can confirm if Barragossa is indeed on Devaron. But, hey,” his smile turned into a more boyish grin. ”We can take a short break first, of course. And I’ll check in with one of my contacts on Devaron if she’s heard about this Barragossa dude.”
It seemed that the Force smiled kindly to the two Jedi today. Arctus could only hope, as he and Ozon saw through this task from beginning to end, that their hunt for Barragossa would bear the same success they achieved today.
