BIOGRAPHY

Eumi was born on the planet Kuat, a terraformed planet famous for the Kuat Drive Yards and the main export of their planet – starships. What they are less famous for, and what is much less understood, is their culture. Being born into a matriarchal society meant that she was raised differently and taught different morals than those born elsewhere. She follows a different set of ethics, and while to offworlders the politics of Kuat may seem cutthroat and convoluted, to Eumi it's just how it is. How it's always been. The lines between aristocrat, business executive, and politician were blurred generations ago.

When she was a young child, Eumi was chosen to be groomed as a dignitary, as was at least a dozen other young girls. She was taught languages and poise and everything else she needed in order to fulfill her role. What she wasn't taught or prepared for was being called to action so early in her life. The Kuati Houses had become restless in the last thirty years, and her predecessor was still in his early fourties when he was ruthlessly assassinated by a rival House. It's said they believed he wasn't working toward their best interests and, because they could not persuade him, nor could they recall him, they killed him.

Eumi now stands in his shoes, although she doesn't stand alone. She stands amongst nine other girls - one from each of the ten ruling houses counting herself, each one serving as a page for the Senator, and each one doing everything she was taught to do to protect the interests of the planet they hail from.

PERSONALITY

When she's in the senate chambers, or on any planet at all representing her homeworld for that matter, there are few who exude more focus and pride in their work than her. Eumi is a well-spoken woman, the mouthpiece of her people, and she is passionate about each and every stance she takes - but she is never the one to jump into taking sides on an issue. She is cautious. During debates, she tends to put on a demure show, catching her political opponents off guard with a well thought out rebuttal once they've already thought they won. She listens. She is the tortoise in a hare race, and the viper that strikes when you turn away from it.

In her personal life, however, Eumi is more vocal and yet much less sure of herself. She was appointed to her position two years ago, after the death of her predecessor Rielt Danu, and despite his detailed notes as well as the advice of both her Telbun and the principal director of the Kuat Drive Yards, she always felt she was somehow lacking. That she wasn't the right fit for the position. That she was only good at doing what she was told. Still, she puts her whole self into the role, and she will never abandon her duties.

Eumi is something of a 'brand ambassador' for Kuat. As such, her presence alone bespeaks the presence of Kuat and she must always conduct herself in a manner that serves only the best interests of of her homeworld. She is required to have a high level of intuition, assertiveness, diligence, and perseverence about her at all time. She must also be discrete, punctual, and tactful. Her etiquette must be beyond reproach, her negotiation skills must be top shelf and, due to their greatest export being starships, she was required to learn to speak all the most common trade languages fluently (huttese, meese caulf, jawa trade talk, and smuggler's cant).

Off the senate floor, she has a talent for painting, something that calms her even after the most stressful of debates.
