Tomorrow, the European Championship will start in Poland and Ukraine. Anyone else going to watch this? Any team you're going to be rooting for? Being of Polish heritage, I'm hoping Poland will at least do fairly well.

Hope Poland and Ukraine fail miserably because of the noises I'm hearing regarding there racist fans. Hopefully it won't come about and it will be a great tournament.

England will have a rubbish tournament as we have just changed manager.

Pick to win....Germany.

I have the DVR set to tape every single game (though I know realistically I won't get around to watching them) and the am super pumped about this.

I hate to sound like a dick, but I really don't want Spain to do well. I am rooting for Germany to win the whole shebang, though I am also a Dutch fan so the group stage will be tough for me.

Oh, and the only team I am rooting against more than Spain is Italy.

First two games were very entertaining!

I thought the opening game slowed down in the second half, but it didn't get to the point it was boring. The second game with Russia and the Czech Republic was far more entertaining. I'm looking forward to seeing the Group of Death matches tomorrow.

I loved watching Poland in the first half (missed the second half unfortunately, although it seems they weren't as good then) and as a Manchester United fan I was happy to see Lewandoski score (although who knows if the rumours of his transfer are true).

The Russia/Czech game was also very entertaining. I expected Group A to be borinng to watch given who was drawn but I love that all the teams seem to be swinging for the fences.

I would love it (final thought for now)there if Shevchenko summons some of his old Milan ability and helps lead the Ukraine on an incredible run, but realistically I think I have a better chance of running onto the field and scoring than Sheva does these days.

Holland could have played for another 90 mins and still wouldn't have scored.

Funny old game.

Very true. My younger brother actually predicted a Denmark win before the match started. What compelled him to say that, I will never know. I'm hoping the Germany-Portugal will be entertaining.

Robben sure is having a bad streak of luck. First those penalty misses for Bayern, and then that shot that pinged off the bar against Denmark

Am I the only one watching this Germany/Portugal game thinking that the Germans are playing like shit?

More the Portuguese are so defensive.

Hard to break a team down when you've got 9 men behind the ball.

So does the winner of this tournament get the Sudetenland or just Alsace-Lorraine?

Incredibly difficult goal from Gomez.

Top stuff.

Quick question. I literally know nothing about soccer other than that it is like a nugget of dullness wrapped in a pillow of tedium, but I guess I'm mildly curious about this if it has any effect on the World Cup. Does it? Or is the standing for that decided otherwise?

Agreed, that Gomez goal was a perfect examle of how to score a header.

@Pros this has nothing to do with the World Cup. This tournament is solely European countries, and is considered by many to be even more difficult to win than the World Cup.

I thought there was a correlation between how many tropical fruits a country wore on its had/its kidnappings per capita and soccer prowess. What gives?
