EVE Online reached the news recently when a massive battle in the sector B-R5RB between some of the largest clans in the game took place last night.

You'll need some background to understand this. Pandemic Legion has been involved in a war along with several other clans against the Cluster**** Confederacy. Right now, think of them as the bad guys of EVE Online. Because that's basically what they are. They're led by a guy called The Mitani. These factions have been fighting a war which has affected most EVE players since Halloween. There have been some huge skirmishes, but this is the game-changer.

So basically what happened was someone in Pandemic Legion, the original owners of B-R5RB, forgot to pay a 'supremacy bill'. AKA, the spot was up for grabs. This is a vital spot for their alliance, N3PL. The Russian main clan, who's name I don't really know, took advantage of this and attacked. The successfully drove the Legion out and began to wait for the clock to count to zero. If they held it for eight hours, the spot was there's.

But PL wasn't out of the game. The ordered all of their forces into a neighboring system, one belonging to their allies, and together N3PL was a force to behold. With an hour to go, the entire N3PL force attacked the Russians in a battle for B-R5RB.

Yet they had a surprise waiting for them. The Russians had called in a few friends. Essentially, the entire Cluster**** fleet. Hundreds of thousands of US dollars was at stake, and no one was going to back down. This battle would decide the course of EVE Online for two years. Everyone was ready for it.

After hours of fighting between nearly matched forces, it seemed to be that the RUS/CFC forces had defeated the N3PL. That alliance will no longer be a game changer. But there's another thing. The CFC/RUS alliance has lost too much for far too little. Within a year, they'll either break off each other or be destroyed by a neighboring clan, many of whom may be old N3PL members.

And so, EVE is one story there really is no end to. It is truly an impressive game.

Please forgive me if any facts above are wrong, but I hope the majority of it is correct. If there is anything else anyone wants to add, please say so below.

This makes me want to see this shit on video.

It also makes me wonder when SWRP will branch off into their own Science Fiction setting.

I haven't played EVE in awhile. Haven't bothered paying the subscription fee.

Sounds pretty epic though, and I wish I could have seen it!

... I miss EVE so much... Every time shit like this happens it really makes me wanna go back. This engagement is a record setter though, over $200,000 US dollar's lost. EVE continues to impress me every year with this kind of crap.

Sounds like a mini-repeat of the Great War back when I was part of BNC (Black Nova Corp). -Snorts- Pretty much all of 0.0 took part in the single most obscene display of power to rock New Eden back then. I remember Pandemic's formation though. Fighting BoB at the time was the lynchpin for it being formed to start with since BoB had been attacking Goonswarm. Haven't played EvE in awhile, but from what I've heard since then, they usually operate long-range HAC fleets to take out larger forces. Doesn't mean they don't have capital fleets though. But if they drove the Legion out they must've been utilizing overwhelming force to break Pandemic's firing lines.

Long story short on my end. Left before BoB dissolved and gave up the PvP gig. Made a new account uhhh... think in '12? Became a humble miner and manufacturer. Then stopped playing. Really though I see things like this as an opportunity for profit now instead of an opportunity to whet my beak in mantears as my Revelation ripped their ships apart. More fun to be had in manipulating the market during wartime. Or Hulkageddon.
