At the top of the large temple they stood. Serie and her father looked down from the top at the ships approaching. One by one they landed on the outreach of the city. Serie could have only suspected them to do so really, but now she felt bad for calling them. It wasn't going to matter anymore here very soon. She turned and looked at her father.
I'm ready. I'll initiate it. Give me the tome. She told her family as she walked up to the small altar in the centre of the room. Placing the book in the center of it she began to recite the words on the pages. Even as she did so, strange green energy started to swirl around her and her hands. Within moments the lights of the room went out and all that could be seen was the faint glowing green orbs.
She started to initiate the ritual when something on the page caught her eye. Something she hadn't noticed before when she was hastily looking at it while back on the ship. Suddenly her hands snapped back and the green energy began to disolve.
Just do it. End this pathetic galaxy once and for all. Her father said, staring at her intensely. He wasn't sure what his daughter was doing, but he knew that she was the only one that could do the ritual. So he stood there, his jaw locked tight as he stared at her.
You're all wrong. This isn't a ritual to end all life in the galaxy. She said at last, stepping back from the altar and the tome. Don't worry though. I'm more than a little curious to see what it can actually do.
Her newly adopted family merely looked at her in curiosity. Her father however still looked angry. Heresy. I should know what it's purpose is! My father was the one who finished writing the spell! He yelled at her, getting a flinch from the rest of his children as well.
Whatever they were trying to do, this wasn't it. I don't have time to decipher all of it right now. Vincent and the others will be here soon. She stopped and waited for a momemt. Was she really about to turn on them for her own family? She didn't see why not honestly. She was so very different from everyone else. So much depended on her. They couldn't understand those pressures. They wouldn't see her reasoning through this. She just wanted to discover something never discovered before. Do something no one had ever done.
With that she stepped back onto the outcropping of the temple, her siblings behind her as the cold wind blew through her hair and white coat. Search the city. They won't be far away now. She told them as she herself took another step forward, her toes now on the edge of the roof. I don't want them interrupting me. You finish the preparations father, I'll handle my friends.
Do not take long. I need you here with me. I won't let this go to waste now. I shall convene with the dark side and see if it will tell me how to proceed. Exterminate all those that would try and oppose us. He said as he knelt in front of the altar and yhe tome and closed his eyes. The dark side ommediately filled the room, every corner and crevice seemed to become steeped in it.
Serie glance at her sibilings, her eyes on her sister the longest. She had a feeling that this was the part where things were going to get tricky. Her sister had a plan as well, although she didn't know what exactly, Serie knew her conniving side was as strong as hers. Then throw in all her friends, her two brothers, and not to mention Serie herself, and this was going to be a messy situation. She could already tell.
She kept from the rooftop and began making her decent. Waiting until the last moment she could really before kicking off the wall behind her and propelling herself forwards towards where she thought she had last sensed Abigail and Vincent. She looked over her shoulder to see her sister right behind her, making a cute face at her though Serie knew it was fake. She sumersaulted and landed on another roof much further down and Serie stayed up high, mostly so she could keep an eye on her sister. Then she picked up Vincent's signature again and ran straight for it. She really wanted to get to them before her sibilings did. If the ritual was wrong, she could convince them that they should all go home and just let her have her fun bending reality to her whims. She did realize how pompous this made her sound, but really she was looking to do something nobody have ever attempted before. When was the next time like this going to come around she asked herself. She knew she had to make it work this time if it was going to work at all.
Finally spotting the group she landed on the building just in front of them. A stark difference in her clothes since they saw her several hours ago. She wore almost the same uniform as her older brother now, except obviously with a skirt instead of slacks.
Vincent. Abi. Oskar. Eisa. I think it's time you go back. This is now a family affair. Outsiders aren't necessary in what I'm about to do. She said coldly. She rather wouldn't fight them, instead she wanted to just talk it out. She had a feeling though that that might be out of the question. She waited to see how they would react first before taking further action. She did feel a bit of a sense of urgency though. One due to her father perhaps finding a way to make the ritual work without her there, and two, her siblings could show up any second and then there wouldn't be time to talk anymore. And she had a feeling that if the latter happened, it would be a fierce fight for everyone. Still she stood there and hoped that they would take the easy road and just turn around and leave now, but she doubted that like she doubted tatooine had a water bed under all that sand.
