Endor, Ewok Village

Drexus knew of the Ewoks and how well they could hunt down their enemies and hide in small places, they would be a wonderful ally to have in the Jedi Army he was helping Dash to build. The thing with Ewoks was though, they loved their homeland and he knew what he had to do to get them to side with the Jedi. Arriving on Endor he would be dressed in Jedi Robes, which was a rare occasion. This mission was important, especially since it would bring so much favor to the Jedi in the Southern region of the galaxy.

Here with his fellow Jedi they would prepare to execute the mission and win the hearts and minds of the Ewoks.
"All set?" He'd ask his companion, as they would venture further in the large forests of Endor. His face was relaxed, and yet excited. He felt like a true Jedi, doing good for the galaxy. Something he never thought he'd be proud of but here he was.

Looking up he would see the village in the trees. He was ready as ever. The Ewok scouts would blare their horns and many of them would come down. Drexus keeping his calm would hold up his hands, with a translator in his left, and call out,
"I come in peace, I look only to speak with the Chief." He would look over to fellow Jedi, assuming they were also here to cooperate, and make sure they were also following his lead. "If could just speak, I have an offer most suitable for the Ewok people."

The Ewoks sent one of their one back up the ramp to grab the Chief, Drexus would wait patiently with fellow Jedi as they were surrounded by the vicious, and adorable cuddle bear killers.

Stepping off the Jedi shuttle was like walking right into a waking dream or wandering onto the set of one of the holodramas he used to watch in theatres on the rare occasion that he had a few extra credits lying around. Until his parents had sent him to live with the Jedi Shaw had never stepped foot off of Coruscant, and he had never seen so many trees in his life.

They stretched toward the sky, swaying first one way and then the other in the breeze for as far as the eye could see. Nothing but trees and more trees and beyond that even more trees. Glassy brown eyes took it all in. The only streets were dirt paths. No durasteel or plastic. And the plants! There were plants everywhere! Covering the ground, growing on the side of trees, and dangling from branches.

Shaw's fingers brushed against an overgrown fern, and he couldn't stop the stupid smile that split his lips. It was all kind of overwhelming and amazing and oddly terrifying all at the same time. He'd never been surrounded by so much nature before. Shaw hadn't heard the other padawan's question, but the blare of a horn would shake him out of his own little world. Then he saw something brown moving amongst the vegetation—first to his left and then to his right. Before he knew it he was surrounded.

Unfortunately he'd been jumped a couple times coming home from school back on Coruscant, but before he did anything rash like throw a punch he actually took a look at the creatures that had surrounded him. They only hit his knee and were covered ear nubs to little feet in fuzz. They were basically oversized, walking teddy bears.

"They're kritting adorable!" he blurted out and without much thought reached out to scratch the ears of the creature closest to him. Unbeknownst to him, it wasn't his brightest moment. Shaw Amaris had a lot to learn about the galaxy.

Drexus stood awaiting the Chieftain to arrive, and when he turned to check on his fellow Jedi he noticed Shaw reach out to touch the Ewok, "Wait-" he would reach out and grab Shaw's arm, "Maybe wait until they know we're not a threat? For all he knows you're trying to harm him." Then Drex would let go and turn back to see the Chief waltzing up to where they had stood. The Ewok leader was a couple inches taller than the rest, with gray fur streaks beginning to show on his otherwise black fur. His eyes beady and nose scrunkly.

The headdress he wore was dawning the skull of a medium sized predator, (large for them) as well as the red cloth attached to it. When he arrived would speak up, and the translator would pick up the language to clarify,
"What business do you bring into my forests?" The Zabrak would nod as the translator finished. He knew the sudden arrival of the Jedi being unexpected was not ideal, but this army needed built fast, and if he wanted to help Dash out this was the best way.

"I am Jedi Drexus Brogroo, this here with me is Jedi Shaw Amaris." Drexus would point a loose hand towards Shaw as he would continue, "We look to bring you an opportunity to not only help us, but bring more help to your people here, as well as the other tribes." Drexus would then take the time pull out a document, listing the atrocities the Sith have been causing, and then hand it to the Chief once it was translated. "We wish to have the fearless Ewok join us in the fight, and fight alongside our growing army. In return we do offer settlements off Endor, food, building material, and anything you find after the battles it is yours to keep."

Drexus would give the Chief a moment to think on it, he just hoped Shaw wasn't trying to hug the Ewoks at this moment.

"Oh. Right!" Honestly it had never occurred to Shaw that the little creatures might be afraid of him, but now that Drexus brought it up he guessed it made sense. He was a stranger on their planet, and compared to them must have seemed pretty tall. Only 5'10", but he was holding out hope that he'd grow at least a few more inches. Plus he probably smelled weird to them, and having accidentally put on too much body spray after hopping out of the refresher that morning he could kinda understand why.

Shaw gave Drexus a little nod that said Don't worry, bro. I'll be good. The Zabrak was definitely the lead on this, older and with a lot more experience under his belt. They hadn't talked much on the way here, but maybe Shaw would get to know him a little better over the course of their trip and learn a thing or two too. His work out routine for one thing. The Zabrak was jacked!

When Drexus called him a Jedi, it was a weird feeling. It was the first time he'd really been introduced as a Jed. The same Jedi his family had always hated and loathed to send him to. It was a weird feeling, and he wasn't really sure how he felt about it but he stood a little taller all the same. He didn't know why he did. He just did. That was how Jedi always appeared in their propaganda. Tall and standing straight with the sunlight behind them or looking off to the horizon or something like that.

It didn't last long however, as he got an idea to help win over the little creatures and let them know he wasn't a threat. His hand dove into one of the pockets of his robe and dug around for a few seconds while Drexus spoke to their chief. So that's why they were here. It was a diplomatic mission of sorts. Shaw retrieved a bag of jerky from his pocket. He'd been munching on it the whole way here, but there was still some left.

"Want some?" he asked the little creatures and began breaking off pieces of the meat for them to share. Hopefully they were carnivores! A few of the Ewoks closest to the padawan edged closer, sniffing the air as their bright, black eyes stared at the jerky. "Here ya go!" He began passing it amongst them while they continued to sniff and chatter quietly amongst themselves. @Scoobert

The Chieftain was not entirely amused with the Jedi, even Drexus knew when an Ewok look unimpressed. Though he was unimpressed and unamused the Chieftain spoke once more, "Allow me to counter offer." The Ewok would look to others then continue, "If you can defeat the Gorax up the mountain and return with its head, we will fight for you as you would have shown your loyalty to the Ewok."

The Zabrak wasn't fond of the idea of fighting a Giant.. a literal Giant, but if this was the cost to bring the Ewok among the ranks, then he supposed it couldn't be the worst thing to go through.
"You have a deal." Drex held out his hand and the Chieftain would place his own out to shake hands. Then the Dathomirian would turn to Shaw looking to feed the Ewoks like animals. It was an amusing sight, but the two would need to take care of something major before this could continue.

"Shaw we got a new mission, the Gorax that live up the mountain must be taken out. Head goes to the Ewoks. You ready?" Drex had his arms crossed and head tilted. It was time to see if they could bring in another type of warrior to the Jedi Army. Uncrossing his arms he would grab a map given by an Ewok next to him, he would look at it and then up to the mountain. Seemed it was time to make their way up. The Dathomirian began making his way up and nodded toward the mountain to tell Shaw where they were headed.

The fluffy creatures were eating it up. Literally! Well, gnawing might have been a better word to describe it. They ran their dark tongues over the jerky and then took a few exploratory bites, testing it out to make sure it was safe and edible and actually tasted good. Shaw could confirm that it definitely did.

"My little sister would LOVE you guys!" Shaw grinned, crouching down to close the gaps in their height. "Mind if I catch a selfie?" He pulled his dataphone out of his pocket, a few of the braver, more curious creatures crowding around to catch a good look at the technology while he threw an arm around one of them and pulled them close like an oversized teddy bear. "Cheeeeese!" he grinned real big and snapped the picture. Best. Screensaver. Ever.

Drexus addressing him by name brought him back to the task at hand. "Aye aye, captain!" He saluted playfully and got back to his feet. He followed after the other padawan but not before looking back over his shoulder and waving goodbye to the little creatures. "So what is a Gorax?" he asked Drexus, stepping over a fallen log. The part about bringing back its head was just sinking in. @Scoobert
