Twice before, Moor had attempted to recover the dragon eggs. The galaxy had been through a lot since then; the Jedi Exiles once thought of as some benign blight on the peace the Republic enjoyed had organized into an Empire that threatened to shatter everything the Republic held so dear.

The Nubian senator and former military officer was no longer hiding behind the selfish facade that he had grown accustomed to following the death of his wife. The recovery of the Arkanian specimens was not motivated by pride, but duty. While he could have directly interceded to the Junior Senator of Arkania with whom he had already interacted on during hearings on the Senate, his mission ought to remain secret if his efforts were to be met with success. Besides, nothing guaranteed that the Arkanian government would have been willing to part with the eggs of creatures they revered, even if to support a noble cause.

Moor had adorned his old Special Ops Armor and had equipped his 2L Blaster Rifle and Collapsible Vibro-Sword for the occasion. Although, he would prefer avoiding a direct confrontation with the guardians of the dragons' nest, humans and beasts alike, his peaceful ways might need to be set aside.

In the distance, the mountain, his destination, was pristine and white, even the dark green of the pines was mostly coated in the crystalline snow. To see the slivers of blue among the silvery puffs Moor had to look right up. He stood immobile for a moment drinking it all in, listening to the silence that hangs so thickly in the frigid air.

An open call for help had been posted on the secure channel Moor shared with his accomplices. He did not know if any of them would be brave enough to answer it.

Trenton had taken a bit of time to get used to the feel of armor, his days as as Senator having not needed the protection. Now he trudged through the snow like a trooper, weapons on him and grenades hidden as he moved to stand next to Moor. He'd done all he could to get support for their venture, having been pretty successful overall. Now he was here to act as both bodyguard and soldier for the man. He could feel that the time the Republic had left was fading quickly. Time would be of the essence, something he soberly thought of as he checked his power pack to make sure everything was secure. He was silent as he stood next to the other former Senator, ready to do whatever was needed. Like a good soldier he would follow orders. Like a superior soldier he'd act on his own to protect the future both of them believed in.

Now why in the name of the Force was Dryden here? Simple, really. Todan was here.

But why was Dryden here? Ah, well, the reason behind the reason was equally simple, Todan had yet to reveal himself as a traitor. And so far what Michael pried out of his contacts was not uplifting. In point of fact, it was too good. Spoon fed information, half-truths, and outright fabrications. He wasn't the best operative in the Republic, and it wouldn't be the first time they kept their own in the dark, but there was something off about things lately. Enough that Dryden hadn't submitted a report on Todan with the simple conclusion the leaders of this group were comprised entirely of Todan himself -- an end to the investigation, soon met by an armed response that'd shut this clandestine operation down in a heartbeat.

So there Dryden was. In his full suit with an extra layer of insulation. In the cold. About to poach some eggs. May the Force be with them, he groaned privately.

"I take it they're not going to let us walk in there and take one or two?" What if they asked nicely?
