Colonel Masur sat peacefully inside the simulation pod, his eyes were lightly closed and he breathed slowly. The aged veteran prepared himself to undertake the training exercise. Though it may have been a simulation he approached the task with a serious attitude. "Ok, folks," he said through his com, "let's get this operation underway."

As the techs finished punchin in the simulation's parameters the Colonel shut the pod and was enveloped by light. Sh'Asur found himself crouched in a field of grass up to his hip, sparse bits of forestry crowned the peak of the hills north of him. Around him, checking their gear, was a squad of soldiers. Ten meters away was ATPT in stand-by mode, its operator part of the men circling him now.

Sh'Asur's gloved hands routinely checked his kit as Bravo's fire team leader reviewed a datapad. Displayed on the device was a map of the region but from where he was the Colonel couldn't make out the details. After a while the NCO lowered the datapad and nodded at Sh'Asur. "Colonel," he began, addressing Sh'Asur by rank, "we are two kliks from the enemy depot. We are outnumbered three to one. What are your orders, Sir?"

Sh'Asur checked his weapon and changed the energy cell out of habit. He then mounted a vibroknife on the barrel and rose up to stand above his squad. "I want Fire Team Bravo to recon the depot, find out where those POW's are being kept as well as the enemy's munitions. Rendevous at point..." he glanced at the map on the datapad, "Zulu-Six." With a nod five men nodded in unison before about-facing and jogging off to the woods at the top of the hill. They would take the long route to avoid notice, keeping a safe observation distance from the depot.

Sh'Asur's team moved out over the plains, blades of grass rustled quietly against their passing armored legs. The ATPT kept behind them, watching over the four moving soldiers with its twin blaster cannons and concussive grenade launched. If anything surprised them it would be short lived.
