I have a character that was originally going to be a jedi but looking at what I want to do with her, there is a strong possibility she will eventually fall to the dark side as she progresses.
How would I present her? If you get what I mean. Have her as an Independent, or keep her with the jedi until she does fall to the dark side and then approach the sith? I haven't really done this sort of character development so it's new to me. I am still updating her profile, right now she has her original jedi profile.

Your choices are actually fairly open ended.

Speaking as someone who has traveled this road before, I can say that you can leave her profile as is for now if you like (as she is still technically a Jedi), and just update it to reflect her shift into the Sith once you have reached that point with her story. Or you can find a way for her to leave the Jedi and have her poke around as an Indie for a while until you develop a way for her to be introduced to the Sith that way.

The choice is six of one really. They're both leading in the same direction, it's just a matter of which you prefer.

EDIT:

Just as an aside, questions like this would be better suited to the Role-Playing Help Board.

Just for future reference. :)

Opps. Thank you for your insight :-)

I agree with what Gamov said on the matter. If you don't mind my look on it. I always like to play a character until I see that it is time for me to end their story, or feel like that I have dragged on their story in a boring storyline. Since I am new to this site, and it being the first Star wars Forum that is active, I am going to do my best in starting my character Naxel as a Padawan and build their story into something that will hopefully be amazing. But what I will do with his story is how I feel it should go just like you should. If you want your character to become a sith then come up with a story about it and then continue their story. That is one of the great things about a role-playing forum. You can create a character, and build up their story, change their destiny path, and everything. If you have chose for your character to go down one path, but also want a character to be in another then you can make another character or try and make it to where your character can transition from one path to the other.
I feel like this haven't really answered anything, but it is just my in-put and outlook from being a role-player for around 4-5 years. ^_^

I would only offer this bit of advice. Don't start the character out with a long term goal too set in stone. One of the great things about forum based RP is you get to react to a myriad of different things with a lot of different contributors. I really think you risk losing out of natural character development when you start with a hard set goal in mind.

I don't say that to discourage you from any path, just something to think about. If you KNOW you want the character to end up with the Sith, consider just including the characters fall in the backstory and maybe work out a few flashback threads to RP it out with people. This lets you tell the story past tense and move forward with your character and develop them naturally.

Obviously, there is no real wrong way to go about it. Go with what you will get the most enjoyment out of. Feel free to ask if you need help with anything!
