The bardottan turned his attention to Councillor Rem Shivaaga who decided to ask a question. It was when the question was asked - or rather how it was asked - did Bruce realize that they might not be talking in hypotheticals now. Bruce brought his arms forward and crossed them at his waist as he stood tall.

“I would agree with the Grandmaster's request.” Bruce stated flatly, “What Master Ward did was criminal, as such he should be located and brought before the council to answer for that crime. Not only was it wrong but many innocents were lost that day, and the Order suffered for it.” Bruce began to look at the councillors as he continued, “The actions that day will never be forgotten. The many deaths, and the death of our Grandmaster at the time have left a stain on Jedha. The Force was wounded that day.”

Some would argue, a life for a life. I would disagree with that statement. Revenge would solve nothing, except drive the Order for darkness. We are the Light and we should remain as such; we cannot compromise or forsaken our beliefs for something as this. A trial for Master Ward will allow him the opportunity to explain himself - so we can understand what went wrong… what we as an Order did wrong. While I admit, my judgement maybe skewered, but I don't think he can justify his actions… he is still allowed to explain, to talk.” Bruce brought his attention back to the councillor who asked the question, “Justice will prevail, and it should be allowed to.”

Bruce concluded his speech. His entire explanation, he remained confident in his tone. There was no malice either. There was an obvious truth in the statement about being skewered and believing nothing Spencer could say could justify those deaths; and I'd there was Bruce couldn't fathom any reasoning.

Vollen looked around the room, the other Councillors were clearly of one mind today, and though he was only shortly one of their own, it seemed it fell to him to administer what they were all thinking, and of all the first announcements he could make, this was a happy one,

"Master Guleya, you've shown courage and wisdom as great as any amongst the Order. A temperance and calmness becoming of a Jedi few of us can ever hope to Master. And a knowledge wider than few others" he led with, all true, all things Vollen had known for some time. Between he and his friend, Bruce had always been the better Jedi,

"It is for these reasons this Council appoints you not only to one of its seats, but as the Caretaker of First Knowledge. With such a role comes responsibilities, new work, and duties. It is no honour, it is a burden. Is it one you are happy to carry, Bruce Guleya?" Vollen extended the offer to his bardottan friend. He'd await the man reply before continuing,

"In which case, Master Guleya, please, take a seat upon this Council"

What is this that Vollen was saying? Master Shai wasn't being serious was he? The council even? No. This had to be a test or a joke maybe, it's not unlike the two to play around like friends. But no... this was actually seriously being brought up and being suggested. Bruce's response was neutral but he had been quite speechless for a moment he hung for a moment as the question was presented to him. It may appear as he was thinking about what to say or if he were to accept the task, but really there was no question and he was willing to agree but he was just so caught off guard.

"Councillor Shai, I am none of what you say, save a Master; I am no one of note, or considered special. For I am a Jedi and what you speak of is no different then the rest of our Order. The knowledge in which I reserve isn't exclusive and instead available to many." Bruce took a moment before he could continue. "What you ask of me is a burden, one in which I bare with dedication and devotion. To that point, it is a privilege. If this council asks me to carry this burden as you have asked of me, Councillor Shai, then this Master accepts that privilege until this council views it differently - or when I become one with the Force."

Bruce sealed the acceptance with his words, words he didn't make lightly. Even though he suggested that he would serve until death, Bruce secretly knew he'd continue to try and serve even in death if the Force willed it. As always, the Jedi Master... Councillor now... showed his utmost respect for those who looked upon him. He kept eye contact as he spoke, to show sincerity in his words.

As Vollen gestured to the several open seats within the room, Bruce looked them over. Maybe he was looking for the best seat in the house, maybe a nice breeze? He tried to cut the internal tension within. He really wasn't picky and would without hesitation find a seat as he attempted to sink in the chair; ready for the next order of business on the agenda. This was quite a new chapter in his life and he knew it would take some time to adapt, but now was good enough to start.

"Thank you, Masters of the High Council."
