So what is the simulator all about?
Reading the descriptions in the Simulator room here it's more than clear its a training tool, a quick way to boost odds of approval, and even a way to settle friendly challenges.
thats fine and good, so how do I actually use it?
There will be a host of Simulations added over time that cover simple, to quite complex situations you may encounter in combat. The scenarios will cover several skill sets.
When looking at the choices you will notice them labeled in ways such as
" SF2 " meaning Star Fighter simulation 2. this helps identify the simulation being run quickly.
Simply read the description, and the options, some simulations may support upwards of 4 other individuals to participate with you. Even if you don't have the additional people, don't worry, they will become NPC slots.
Start a new thread and label it however you want and include the tag " ie, SF2"
The simulation may be treated as you would a story mission, as a PVP battle with others assuming the roles of the " enemy" or you may request the " computer" be assumed by a senior ranking officer for a challenge.
BE WARNED however...Republic commanders are notorious for looking in and adjusting the programing to throw in wildcards to contend with.
( that is to say post a random element to contend with just to keep you on your toes)
once you accomplish the mission just PM a S.O ( IF you are looking for scoring) and let them know you finished, and go brag that you took down twice s many enemy fighters than your peers.
if you did very well the officer may elect to award you achievement badges
like these!:
Nice nice....so promotions?
When used for serious training the simulators can give great insight into the developing skills of a budding young officer. Simulations will be reviewed and graded on several levels including but not limited to;
showing high marks allows for senior officials to gain confidence in ones abilities, and can put people into positions better suiting their skills ( and you can ALWAYS test whenever you wish) Note however that high command ranks of general/vice admiral and so on must be earned through operations.
and that is how the simulators are used. :CSly
