DESCRIPTION
The Fiend series fighters are a line of starfighters that were orginally manufactured by the Corellian-based Santhe Shipyards under the secret employ of Morgan Elsbeth during the beginning years of the New Republic after the Battle of Endor. The Fiend-series has two variants, the 'RP82' Fiend used by more skilled/higher ranking pilots, and the more common 'Scout Guard' used by other squadron members. At the time, the Fiend fighters were designed and produced by necessity, no longer having access to Sienar's TIE-line and also needing a starfighter that can be produced at low cost.

The Fiend fighters fill the same role as the TIE Fighters, although they lack the distinctive shape and characteristics that the TIE line is known for. Both variations of the Fiend fighter feature light autoblasters cannons that rapidly fire green bolts. Although they are effective against other starfighters, it requires a considerable amount of time for them penetrate the shields and hull plating of larger ships like freighters and ships of similar or larger size.

Like the basic TIE Fighter, the Fiends are decent fast as well as fast and graceful. Even the lesser variant poses a considerable threat when fielded in high numbers. The Fiends share the same weaknesses as the TIE Fighters though, being weak individually, little care put into defense, and lack of a hyperdrive. The RP82 variation does carry a light shield generator however.

In the present day, Scout Guard fighters are often found on the hands of second-rate starship merchants with the RP82 being a much harder find. Fiend fighters have also been found among pirates, who often install an aftermarket hyperdrive system along with an improvised navicomputer.

LEGALITY
Restricted. These ships are starfighters, and are subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.

INTENT
To import these two plane looking things from canon into our site canon.
