Spinning around, Kendall thought the machines would continue their barrage even though he had landed and successfully completed the course; but he was wrong. The apparatus retracted and descended away, leaving just the two Jedi... well, one Jedi and one to-be Jedi. Kendall followed his Master happily, though nursing some bruises along his elbow and cheek bones. He followed with pride, but he wanted more. He wanted to prove his Master proud. And so he dashed forwards on command!

Stabbing out into Huang's lower gut and left thigh with his right handed hold of the training saber, Kendall combined a slash with retracting sting; lowering his shoulder with his saber wielding arm away from danger as he'd rotate a sideways flip forward and over his Master's back. Expecting his Master to lower in defense or attack/step to the side in avoidance, as Kendall's blade was lowering in attack for his taller opponent's reach, Kendall would spin to leap off of his right foot and lead with his raising left up behind him. His manipulated Force leap assisted in an arc of a rotation from in front of Huang, over and behind him. His attack was like a bait, giving out his right saber wielding arm, though not long enough for his Master's reach (having angled the stab as a slight slash that led with the tip of his lightsaber) - only to expose his Master, to benefit his position from behind. If Huang simply stepped out of the way, he'd have to step back or be cut by the saber; and so Kendall would be moving past his angle over his back just the same. His twisting motion would keep a swirling flow that whirled the training saber behind his back so natural as to move with the swirls of a whirlwind.

((I always need paper to draw your attacks... :CHappy Just tell me if this doesn't work. You basically attacked and leapt over me, yeah?))

Huang parried the whirlwind of attacks. The boy's technical skill was exemplary. Huang thought he would be a perfect addition to the 'team' when knighted.

As Kendall flipped over, Huang thrust forward, putting distance between the pair. As Kendall leapt at him again, a knowing smile played across his lips. He slashed up, deflecting the tip as he rolled forward, springing up.

''Your skills are exemplary, knight Kendall. Now, focus on the core of Ataru. Simply keep up the aggression, a constant pressure. No need to break back. Come at me, with all your strength.''

Huang held respect for the padawan's exuberance. Here was a padawan he could feel pride in training.

((Heheh, sry! :CHappy Ya, you got it!))

Tossing forward a single foot, Kendall lept onto his right; swinging a horizontal slash with his right hand from the left. As he expected to be blocked/avoided, Kendall bounced into a twisting areal over Huang. Twisting towards his left, his body arched back to bring another slash down in front of his face and through where his Master's head was; as his body at this point was completely upside-down. Twisting further, Kendall tucked into the floor and slashed behind him as his body rolled into several hedgehog looking cuts through his Master's leg positions.

((It's ok. I just know not to engage you in a battle with stakes :CHappy))

Huang's left hand pushed right, the blade rotating in his grip so it was parallel to his body, his right arm brought into his side. He stopped the blade, ducking down, his battle precog flaring at that moment, causing him to duck, blocking the aerial strike, before rolling forward to get out of the way of the staccato strikes to the back of his legs.

He also showed great skill to learn. Huang paused.

''In ataru, you don't want to get locked into a drawn battle. Defence relies on breaking combat.''

He charged forward.

''Defend.''

he started simple, using an open diagonal slash from Kendall's left collarbone to his right hip.

Kendall lifted up as his Master did, turning at the pause to see Huang before his next move. Kendall noted the given lesson yet was not the best at showing he listened or understood what was said.

Leading with his training saber, Kendall ducked; swinging up a guiding slash, Kendall would meet his saber to Huang's and duck under it to slam the beam into the floor and hold it there for a moment in breath as he so released a single breath to see if he had done well staying face to face with his larger Master. Though both hands held on tightly to his training saber: his left hand, on top ready to strike out physically; his right hand at the base of the hilt, holding what weight he had over the beams aimed into the floor.

Huang nodded, his head only moving a couple of millimetres. His blade came up as expert eyes assessed the posture of the young padawan. A gifted wielder oft he blade. He shifted back, before rushing forward again, this time unleashing Juyo. A slow, overhead cut aiming to bisect Kendall's head was suddenly reversed as Huang's feet changed position, dodging into a swift thrust between the collarbones, before drawing back into a brutal horizontal slice.

((Plz correct me if I misunderstand! ;)))

His Master approved. Kendall might seem in need of attention and approval at times, ever the emotion upon his sleeveless arms. Yet as Huang shifted back, so did Kendall; his bending right leg stepping back into a readiness.

Down came Huang's attack, at least what Kendall first thought to be the attack, and Kendall reacted with improvising efforts of Ataru motion. Almost moving forward with a slight left angle, Kendall kicked his right knee up and over (to his left, Huang's right, in crossing motion) into a back flip that neither moved forward or back. His saber scooped upwards (nearly cutting the ground crossing left, Huang's right) before his lifting leg, bringing underside of his fist and butt of the hilt towards his face (settling to the right side of Kendall's cheek bone at one point), cutting a defensive slash through the space between them and before his backwards rotating body. Kendall orbited the then changing attack to stab into the hole of the donut, as Kendall's body rotated over and around to land in the same place he had lept from.

His right foot landing first, Kendall pressed into his bouncing feet to change direction. Landing with his right side mostly facing Huang, Kendall would twist his left shoulder forwards into a near dive that spread his legs out behind him to lead with his lifted left foot in an 'X' position of his open body parallel to the ground as his right hand wielded his saber in a following horizontal slash from his left to right - his body would carry over the horizontal slash that ended Huang's attack, and his slash would follow the same coarse as Huang's. Huang's saber would leave Kendall's area and Kendall's saber would enter Huang's area, to cut into his belly.

((Don't worry about misunderstanding me! I'm trying to keep up with you!))

Huang watched the boy flow like water around his attacks, sacrificing the skill so that the boy could keep with him, so Huang could observe his every movement, seeing the spirit of Ataru in him. He most certainly had Ataru down. With more training, his mastery could be close to as complete as Huang's own mastery of the Ataru form.

Huang did not let up the attack, right leg swinging back, his arm drawing in as the blade of Kendall swept across the space his body had occupied, only by an inch, as Huang needed to react quickly. The blade smashed down on the horizontal slice, the unfortunate side effect of the boy being in the air would cause him to tumble, or at least take time to allow a landing.

After that motion, his grip switched to reversed, and he spun, right leg back, a full circle, moving him to be behind the boy. He held the blade forward, and inch from Kendall's neck.

''An astounding performance, Kendall.'' He said, respect dropping formality. He had met few students so gifted with the sabre arts. He would be a great swordfighter some day.

''Return to your cell. Rest, meditate. Tomorrow, we leave. I am going to take you out into the galaxy. We shall see if You have listened to my lessons.''

He turned off his blade. He bowed to the student, before leaving the arena.

He was confident in this one. This was someone he could trust to go into battle with. A rarity with his fellow Jedi in the order.

Taking the hit hard, as he was in mid air when hammering stroke fell, Kendall's arms led the way to the floor. His face followed shortly, as did his chest and knees; yet pain against friction was of little concern, as the beam pointed at the back of his neck as he pushed back up. He was just glad that Huang had settled with smashing down his saber, rather than taking aim upon his arms or body; realizing the skill of his Master's years before him.

He would not have been able to come back from that one, and he knew it. Kendall's eyes shifted back, unable to see the beam of light itself but to see its reflection cast off of his shoulder. Now that was crazy, Kendall thought. He had given it his all, and came out with more experience in this one day than in his entire lifetime.

Kendall's chest was heaving, yet it didn't matter. He was too overjoyed at the juiced experience of it all! "YES!!" Bending aggressively into a double-fisted pump, veins bulging from his neck, and a smile from ear to ear; the young Padawan could not get enough. Kendall's response soon corrected itself, however; bowing back in great respect and awe of the Master who would take him to heights beyond his simple mind's conception. "...Master. Uh... Yes, Master!"

Like the youth of great abounding energy, Kendall cartwheeled over to the exit and jumped out the doors! ...He would be sore later. He just didn't know it yet.

Huang moved through the dark hallways of the Ossus Temple, the sun not yet risen. He was dressed in his robes, force katana belted at his right side, a pair of lightsabres attached to the scabbard above and below, ready to move out.

Huang was known for taking on the...darker jobs that were asked of the Jedi, often where anything but violence had not worked. These were the baptisms of fire he required of his students. Jedi must realise that, to defend the galaxy, they had to be a sword as well as a shield. To actively drive away the darkness, rather than simply defend against it.

And this was no exception. His fist rapped against Kendall's door thrice.

''Awaken, Padawan, we leave for your trial.''

Jolted into falling out of bed, Kendall's arm flung back as his shoulder rolled off the side and his cheek slammed onto the floor. "Ugh!"

As if the knocking wasn't enough to wake him, the strong thud pounded the morning into his senses. Yet ever the impenetrable youth, Kendall snapped up to his feet. Stumbling to the door, he opened it to meet his Master as soon as possible! He had accidentally overslept and would no longer prolong the day's incidents. "Uh...morning! I was just, uh..."
