8. Finis Inis
Myra Subach's cousin, Finis Innes, believes the Sith killed his cousin. With Subach-Innes Corporation collapsed, Finis Innes has amassed all of the Subach-Innes resources under his control and plans to strike against an Imperial world. Intelligence discovered the fleet is currently orbiting Uba. StealthX has been provided for the mission.

Goal: Infiltrate Finis Innes' flagship and assassinate him.
Location: Finis Innes' flagship, Uba Orbit
Slots: 1-2 Sith and/or Imperial
Slots taken: Jaron Unskii (Ilyusha; Acolyte) Sair Besand (Radiwalker; STC Corporal)
Difficulty:
Additional Notes:

Sair had been assigned to go on a mission alongside a sith acolyte. However, it was not just any acolyte. It was one he was very well acquainted with. One whom he had fought quite some time ago and yet Sair was still a Corporal and the sith was still an acolyte, as if nothing had changed.

The cold stormtrooper was waiting for his acquaintance by a shuttle designated for their mission. The pair were to assassinate an enemy of the Empire. Sair hadn't gone through much of the details. All he needed was the basics, he knew what to do from there - go in, kill all enemies in sight, get out. It hadn't always been like that for him, but it seemed that the more time he spent with the empire, the more time he spent serving, the more time he spent without her, the further he fell into a dark bottomless pit, with only a cold, rather empty look remaining on the outside, the look of a man ready to kill and carry out orders as if there was nothing else left for him. A man with nothing to lose...

It had been a while since Jaron had last trained on Ziost, the highlight of his trip being a practice duel with a Stormtrooper Corporal. Yet now here he was again, and for an entirely different reason than training. Here was the launch point for an assassination mission he'd been assigned - man by the name of Finis Innes, who'd been causing trouble for the Empire - and he found out, walking up, that he was paired with the same man he'd trained with the last time he was here.

"Sair!" he called, smiling. "It took ten years, but I guess things did end up working out, didn't they?" He turned his head, looking at the ship they were using for the mission. A modified StealthX, set up to carry two people instead of just one, and a ship that would get them where they needed to go very quickly, and get them back out just as fast.

"Although, I must say, this certainly isn't the sort of thing I was expecting."

"It seems this time we will be fighting side by side." Sair smirked as he placed his helmet over his head. His body armor shone with the reflection of the strong lights, he quickly inspected his weapons and led the way on board the ship. "I cannot deny I've been looking forward to battling by your side. It might just be something new, something that I might actually enjoy."

It had been a while since he had last used that word, or thought of that action, but now it made him wonder if he could actually experience that emotion. That thought only occupied his mind for a short time, he then returned to the matter at hand - taking the pilot seat and taking off. He put the coordinates into the navigation system and allowed the autopilot to take control.

"This shouldn't be too hard. With this ship we could easily board his without being detected, then quickly cut off his communications and slowly fight our way to the bridge, where the final showdown, or rather the final shot shall be taken, aimed straight for his head. There, of course, will be complications, but I don't think I'll get more than a few scratches off this." Sair's tone was cold, he sounded arrogant, yet deep inside he had evaluated the situation and knew that they had the upper hand, despite the deficit in numbers, that, perhaps, was a strength, rather than a weakness, because of the location of the mission - a ship, rather than an open place. "What do you think?"

"I will defer to your greater experience in such matters," the Keshiri said, giving the Corporal before him a proper, military salute, rather than the bow he might have given to another Sith. Then he smiled. "Unlike others of my order, I can recognize when to give the reins others."

"Very well then." Sair was more concentrated on flying the ship than anything else. He was admiring the bird's capabilities, it was so smooth and easy to control... of course easy was in no way uncomplicated... "Prepare to engage the stealth generators." he got out of the pilot seat and went towards the ramp. "Activate them as soon as we come out of hyperspace, then navigate the ship towards the nearest hanger. As soon as we are in proximity they will detect us, so open the ramp upon entering the hanger and try landing as quick and smoothly as possible."

Of course, Sair spared the last part of the plan. As soon as the ramp opened he would jump out through it and upon landing, roll forwards, to avoid any damage, then without immediately searching for cover, he would shoot at all and any defenders there might be in the hanger. They would have to be extremely quick and probably reckless, if they were to carry out the mission without too many complications. They had to use the sudden drop in to its full advantage and get to their target as fast as possible, rather than devise a complicated plan and allow their enemy to assemble his forces.

Jaron grinned. He had an amount of experience in piloting, but he certainly wasn't the best. As the ship was waiting to exit hyperspace, Jaron had his hands hovering over the controls, ready to shut off any unnecessary auxiliary systems - including, for a short time, life support. They had more than enough oxygen to breathe on the way to the ship's hangar, that they would be entering. Three, two, one...

The ship exited hyperspace, and Jaron switched off the systems. Now they were floating, nearly dead, the ion engines sending them towards Finis Innes' fleet - and, at the head of it, his flagship - quickly, and with a minimum of detectable emission. He navigated the pair towards the ship's starboard hangar, that was still open - the fighter pilots were still training, though thankfully they weren't in sensor range of that group - before flying in.

The back opening of the ship opened up, for Sair to jump out - Jaron had rather easily gleaned that part of the plan, without it being told - before Jaron set it down about twenty yards after that. The hangar had already had a team of fighters running in to attack the intruders, though thankfully there weren't too many of them. Jaron popped out of the front hatch, his lightsaber out - he'd left his vibrosword behind - and switching on quickly as he landed beside his ship, ready to deflect any incoming blasterfire.

Gorbal Kresh was not the kind of Zeltron who took surprises very well. In fact it could be said that she liked surprises as much as she liked her second husband who she had forced to choke on anniversary cake. Which of course he had forgotten about. So when a rather nasty looking ship appeared in the hanger she was having a lho-stick to herself in her first thought went roughly along the lines of what in the utter frack? First the boys in the station ran towards it like morons blasters blazing from the hips while the first one rolled out and shot a few of them dead. Stormtroopers fan-fracking-tastic. It was not Kreshs idea of a fight to go running towards some Imperial psychopaths who were busy carving their way through the hanger.

She stubbed the lho-stick under her boot and walked up to the terminal room while the two bozos where busy mopping up the last couple of idiots that had ran at them, she admired their professionalism don't get killers like that these days she thought it's all filled with emotional baggage and some sort of display this is just pure murder. Kudos. Still though she hit the alarm reluctantly. The intercom quipped up and she told the bridge officer a couple of Imps were on their way. She could almost hear the screeching voice of Finis Inis as his voice went through every octave it was possible to hit before changing species. What a bothersome man. So she turned the intercom off and lit up another lho-stick.

Let them have their fun. I'm not dying for that puffed up bantha sack.

The hanger was cleared up pretty quickly and there was only one way to go - the terminal room, where they'd be able to get the schematics of the ship and quickly move to the deck and dispose of the troublemaker. Sair had received a few new scratches on his armor, but most of the guards were so surprised by the attack that they couldn't even shoot more than one shot at him.

A complete massacre had take place in the hanger and the stormtrooper did not even take a moment to look at the dead, he simply turned to his companion. "Lets go get ourselves a map. Hopefully there will be a bigger challenge ahead... I don't like easy kills..." he moved towards the door, then realized that his words could be misinterpreted, by someone who might be listening in. "They're a waste of my time." his words cracked through the air as the blastdoor opened and he looked for the way to the hangar control room.

Jaron smiled, following silently along behind Vindict, his lightsaber hilt out - though now it was deactivated. Where Sair had gotten a couple new scratches or burn marks on his armour, Jaron had gotten no such thing - but with the focus on the Stormtrooper who was methodically mowing down every random sentient in the hanger and not on the purple-skinned Sith acolyte nearby, he hadn't had much to deal with by way of battle.

And while Sair looked for the terminal room, Jaron had a good guess as to where it was; he could sense the other presence nearby, the only one near enough to have been able to set off any alarm. His lightsaber held out, the Acolyte walked to another door, hitting the code to activate it. As it opened, he smiled to the Zeltron woman who'd just finished a Lho-stick, seeming about ready to leave. Zeltron, yes - he'd have to be careful.

"Not to be a bother, but this is the terminal room, yes? Ah, yes - there it is in the corner. Hmm...well, I'm going to require you to keep your hands exactly where I can see them, move up against that wall, right there - " and Jaron pointed to the wall of the room that was on his right, the girl's left - "And do absolutely nothing until my friend here is finished - after all, it would be a waste to kill you."

Gorbal merely shrugged, she couldn't have given half a pint of rancor piss if she tried. It might be muscle relaxants in the lho-stick or it might just be because she was one of the most apathetic people in the Galaxy in either case the Sith and it's toy soldier left the room.

Up on the bridge however there was a storm in a tea cup. Finnis Innis was confident in his security that he did not prep an evac shuttle. Instead he screamed and pitched at his muscle to do their jobs or by the stars they would not be working ever again. A great motivator he was not but get the job done they would try. Already the ships internal computers were tracking the duo as they moved around the ship. Battle droids and merc crews had been dispatched. At possible entrances to the command deck of the ship Finnis had deployed his best soldiers ex alliance who were all too keen to get some shooting done on some Imperials early. They set up heavy blast cannons to screen hallways and droid turrets to add some firepower. They were well equipped in comparison to the mercs who were a mix of "Anyone with a blaster" to the odd Mandalorian.

One Alliance team had got sick of waiting, they turned off the power and lights along their corridor and advanced ready to ambush the Sith and the Stormtrooper when they appeared.

Sair followed his companion into the terminal room, where the sith had already detained a zeltron girl. The corporal didn't pay much attention to the prisoner. He simply walked over to the terminal and downloaded the schematics of the place. It seemed all other functions were blocked, perhaps there had been a security lock down and besides Sair wouldn't be able to do anything else, since his computer skills were quite limited. He turned to the sith and gave a nod to indicate that he had directions.

Besand proceeded towards the door. As he passed by the zeltron he drew out his blaster pistol and without even looking at her, put a bullet through her head. There were to be no survivors, nobody to tell what had happened, who had attacked and who was to be punished, if Finis had any allies. It wasn't because Sair was afraid, but because he didn't want to be troubled, he preferred a nice clean job... with lots of bodies.

Holstering his pistol, the corporal took out his rifle as footsteps could be heard outside the room. He stopped in front of the door and opened in, only to come out to the sight of several not well equipped mercenaries turning to face him and shortly after - beginning to shoot. He shot a few rounds himself, possibly taking one or two down, but then took cover by the side of the door. He saw some crates, made a few quick steps and rolled over them, avoiding the blaster fire that was aimed his way. Having provided himself with better cover he used whatever moments of silence there was, shoot his own rifle in the direction from which the blaster bolts were coming.
